  • 미사일 형상의 공력특성을 효율적으로 계산하는 문제는 예비설계 단계에서 아주 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 반 실험적 기법에 기초한 Missile DATCOM 계열 코드를 이용하여 공력특성에 관한 계산을 수행하였다. 코드의 정확도와 신뢰도를 점검하기 위해, 고앙각 아음속 유동과 중간 정도의 받음각을 갖는 초음속 유동장 해석에 적용하였다. 실험이나 다른 연구자의 결과와 비교적 정성적으로 일치하는 예측결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 마지막으로 캐나드와 자유롭게 회전하는 꼬리날개를 갖는 보다 복잡한 미사일 유동장 해석에 적용하였다.

Analysis of the Behavior of Bolt Jointed Wood Connections by Applying Semi-Rigid Theory

  • Attempts were made to analyze the behavior of single and multiple-bolted connections through theoretical methods such as European yield theory, empirical approaching method, and semi-rigid theory instead of many experimental methods that have been actually inefficient and non-economical. In the case of a single-bolted connection, if accurate characteristic values of a material could be guaranteed, it would be more convenient and economical to perform the behavior analysis using a model based on the semi-rigid theory, instead of the existing complex yield model, or the empirical formula which produces errors, giving different results from the actual ones. If the variables of equation determining the load and deformation could be appropriately controlled, the analytical method in conjunction with a semi-rigid theory could be effectively applied to obtain the desirably predicted value, considering that the appropriate solution could be derived through a simpler equation using a less difficult method compared to the existing yield model. It is concluded that analytical method with semi-rigid theory can be used in the behavior analysis of bolted connection because our developed method showed excellent analysis ability of behavior until number of bolt is two. Although our analytical method has the disadvantage that the number of bolt is limited to two, it is concluded that it has the advantage than numerical method which complicated and time-consuming.

Assessment of the effect of fines content on frost susceptibility via simple frost heave testing and SP determination

  • The Segregation Potential (SP) is one of the most widely used predictors of frost heave in cold regions. Laboratory step-freezing tests determining a representative SP at the onset of the formation of the last ice lens (near the thermal steady state condition) can predict susceptibility to frost heave. Previous work has proposed empirical semi-log fitting for determination of the representative SP and applied it to several fine-grained soils, but considering only frost-susceptible soils. The presence of fines in coarse-grained soil affects frost susceptibility. Therefore, it is required to evaluate the applicability of the empirical semi-log fitting for both frost-susceptible and non-frost-susceptible soils with fines content. This paper reports laboratory frost heave tests for fines contents of 5%-70%. The frost susceptibility of soil mixtures composed of sand and silt was classified by the representative SP, and the suitability of the empirical semi-log fitting method was assessed. Combining semi-log fitting with simple laboratory frost heave testing using a temperature-controllable cell is shown to be suitable for both frost-susceptible and non-frost-susceptible soils. In addition, initially non-frost-susceptible soil became frost susceptible at a 10%-20% weight fraction of fines. This threshold fines content matched well with transitions in the engineering characteristics of both the unfrozen and frozen soil mixtures.

경비행기의 비행특성 분석 및 준경험적 분석 방법 비교 (A Comparison Study on the Semi-empirical Analysis Approach for the Flight Characteristics of a Light Airplane)

  • 본 연구에서는 MDO 프레임워크 개발을 위하여 다양한 준경험적 방법에 근거한 해석적 방법으로 경비행기인 창공-91의 비행운동 특성 파라미터를 추출하고 비행시험 방법을 기준으로 비교하여 평가하였다. 비교 대상의 준경험적 분석 방법은 Perkins 방법, McCormick 방법, 그리고 Smetana 방법이며, 각각의 방법을 통하여 주요 안정성/조종성 미계수와 동안정 계수를 산출하였다. 이에 대한 비교 기준은 비행시험을 수행하여 취득한 데이터로부터 출력오차방법을 활용하여 비행운동 미계수와 동안정 계수를 추출하였다. 아울러 경비행기의 비행특성을 우리나라 국토교통부의 항공기기술기준(KAS, Korean Airworthiness Standard)의 항목과 미 군용의 MIL-F-8785C의 기준으로 분석하여 평가하였다.

  • Most engineers, related to soil and civil dynamic field, have been interested in the direct dynamic design of building transmitted from soil and rock to structure due to blasting. However it is not easy to estimate the dynamic response of structures due to blasting by using analytical method because of difficulties of soil modeling, prediction of excitation force and so on. In this paper, dynamic analysis have been performed to predict vibration level and evaluate dynamic safety of structure adjacent to tunnel blast and the semi empirical method, which is based on vibration measurement data, has been employed to consider blast vibration characteristics.

The use of the semi-empirical method to establish a damping model for tire-soil system

  • This paper proposes a linear damping model of tire-soil system using semi-empirical method. A test rig was designed and developed to measure the vertical equivalent linear damping ratio of tire only and tire-soil system using Free-Vibration Logarithmic Decay Method. The test was performed with two kinds of tractor tires using a combination of five inflation pressure levels, two soil depths and four soil moisture contents in the paddy soil. The results revealed that the linear damping ratio of tires increased with decreasing tire inflation pressure; the linear damping ratio of tire-soil system also increased with decreasing tire inflation pressure and increased with the increasing soil depth (observed at 80 and 120 mm). It also increased with a relative increase of soil moisture contents (observed at 37.9%, 48.8%, 66.7% and 77.4%). The results also indicated that the damping ratio of tire-soil system was higher than that of tire only. A linear damping model of tire-soil system is proposed as a damping model in parallel which is established based on experimental results and vibration theory. This model will have a great significance in study of tractor vibration.

반실험적 기법 및 CFD 코드를 이용한 자유회전 테일핀을 갖는 커나드 조종 미사일에 관한 공력해석 (Aerodynamic Characteristics of a Canard-Controlled Missile with Freely Spinning Tailfins Using a Semi-Empirical Method and a CFD Code)

  • 반실험적 기법과 CFD 코드를 이용하여 자유회전 테일핀을 갖는 커나드 조종 미사일의 공력특성을 연구하였다. 반실험적 기법에서는 테일핀의 회전각에 따른 공력계수의 평균을 구한 후 자유회전 테일핀의 공력계수를 계산하였다. 또한 테일핀의 평균 롤링 및 롤 댐핑 모멘트계수를 이용하여 자유회전 테일핀의 회전율을 예측하였다. CFD 계산의 경우 중첩격자를 이용한 6-자유도 해석을 통해 테일핀의 회전율을 계산하였다. 미사일의 공력계수 예측 값들은 풍동실험 결과와 유사하게 나타났고, 커나드 롤 조종 및 요 조종시의 테일핀 회전율 또한 풍동실험결과와 근접하게 나타났다. 본 연구를 통해 자유회전 테일핀을 갖는 커나드 조종 미사일에 관한 공력해석에 반실험적 기법을 적용할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

전산해석 및 풍동시험을 이용한 유도형 활공탄약의 공력해석 (Analysis of Aerodynamic Characteristics for Guided Gliding Type Ammunition Using Computational Analysis and Wind Tunnel Test)

  • 전산해석과 풍동시험을 이용하여 유도형 활공탄약의 공력특성을 연구하였다. 전산해석으로는 반실험적 기법인 Missile DATCOM과 전산유체역학 해석프로그램인 FLUENT를 사용하였다. 유도형 활공탄약에 대해 양력 및 항력, 피칭모멘트 등을 계산하여 기본적인 공력특성을 확인하였으며 기존의 탄약과는 전혀 다른 공력특성을 갖는 것을 확인했다. 전산해석을 통해 얻은 결과는 풍동시험을 통해 얻은 결과와 대체적으로 유사했다. 반실험적 기법으로 얻은 결과 중 피칭모멘트 값은 풍동시험결과와 약간 차이가 났지만, 전체적으로 전산해석의 결과는 시험결과와 유사한 경향과 값을 나타냈다. 본 연구를 통해 유도형 활공탄약의 공력특성을 확인하였으며, 유도형 활공탄약 초기설계 시 공력특성 분석을 위해 반실험적기법 및 전산유체역학적 해석 기법을 적용할 수 있음을 확인하였다.
