We have calculated the cosmic ray(CR) acceleration at young remnants from Type Ia supernovae expanding into a uniform interstellar medium(ISM). Adopting quasi-parallel magnetic fields, gasdynamic equations and the diffusion convection equation for the particle distribution function are solved in a comoving spherical grid which expands with the shock. Bohm-type diffusion due to self-excited $Alfv\acute{e}n$ waves, drift and dissipation of these waves in the precursor and thermal leakage injection were included. With magnetic fields amplified by the CR streaming instability, the particle energy can reach up to $10^{16}Z$ eV at young supernova remnants(SNRs) of several thousand years old. The fraction of the explosion energy transferred to the CR component asymptotes to 40-50 % by that time. For a typical SNR in a warm ISM, the accelerated CR energy spectrum should exhibit a concave curvature with the power-law slope flattening from 2 to 1.6 at $E{\gtrsim}0.1$ TeV.

Chloride penetration is the main reason which causes the deterioration of concrete structures. Chloride penetration of concrete structures due to chemical-physical phenomena can be profitably analyzed by means of model-based simulations. The main purpose of this paper is to analyze chloride penetration considering self-desiccation, convection and admixture(GBFS: granulated blast-furnace slag) effects. Basic governing equations are modified properly to apply these effects to chloride penetration analysis. Temperature and relative humidity data of In-Cheon from Korea Meteorological Administration are used for analyzing chloride penetration.
Some basic properties of inorganic coatings hardened by the room temperature reaction with alkalies were examined. The coating paste was prepared from the powders in the system $Al_2O_3-SiO_2$-CaO using blast furnace slag, fly ash and amorphous ceramic fiber after mixing with a solution of sodium hydroxide and water glass. The mineralogical and morphological examinations were performed for the coatings prepared at room temperature and after heating to $1200^{\circ}C$ respectively. The binding force of the coating hardened at room temperature was caused by the formation of fairly dense matrix mainly composed of oyelite-containing amorphous phase formed by the reaction between blast furnace slag and alkali solution. At the temperature, fly ash and ceramic fiber was not reacted but imbedded in the binding phase, giving the fluidity to the paste and reinforcing the coating respectively. During heating up to $1200^{\circ}C$, instead of a break in the coating, anorthite and gehlenite was crystallized out by the reaction among the binding phase and unreacted components in ternary system. The crystallization of these minerals revealed to be a reason that the coating maintains dense morphology after heating. The maintenance of binding force after heat treatment is seemed to be also caused by the formation of welldispersed fiber-like mineral phase which is originated from the shape of the amorphous ceramic fiber used as a raw materials.

Recently, due to the deterioration and various natural disasters caused by the passage of concrete pole for 20~30 years or more, damage and destruction of the poles have increased the demand for maintenance. In this paper, 10 flexural strength test specimens were fabricated by using crack self - healing concrete of Fly ash, GGBS, CA, etc. The compressive strength of the concrete with slag was found to be excellent, but the concrete with fly ash was slightly below the reference strength. In addition, the crack loadings of the specimens satisfied the criteria of KS F 4304. In the case of the load-deflection and strain relations, the behavior of the fly ash specimens was similar, but in the specimens containing the blast furnace slag, The results showed that a large amount of strain occurred.
Expressed sequence tags (ESTs) and differentially expressed cDNAs from the self-fertilizing fish, Kryptolebias marmoratus were mined to develop alternative biomarkers for endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs). 1,577 K. marmoratus cDNA clones were randomly sequenced from the 5'-end. These clones corresponded to 1,518 and 1,519 genes in medaka dbEST and zebrafish dbEST, respectively. Of the matched genes, 197 and 115 genes obtained Unigene IDs in medaka dbEST and zebrafish dbEST, respectively. Many of the annotated genes are potential biomarkers for environmental stresses. In a differential display reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (DD RT-PCR) study, 56 differential expressed genes were obtained from fish liver exposed to bisphenol A. Of these, 16 genes were identified after BLAST search to GenBank, and the annotated genes were mainly involved in catalytic activity and binding. The expression patterns of these 16 genes were validated by real-time RT-PCR of liver tissue from fish exposed to bisphenol A. Our findings suggest that expression of these 16 genes is modulated by endocrine disrupting chemicals, and therefore that they are potential biomarkers for environmental stress including EDCs exposure.
Although applying self-consolidating concrete (SCC) in many modern structures is an inevitable fact, the high consumption of cement in its mixing designs has led to increased production costs and adverse environmental effects. In order to find economically viable sources with environmentally friendly features, natural pozzolan pumice and blast furnace slag in 10-50% of replacement binary designs have been investigated for experiments on the properties of fresh concrete, mechanical properties, and durability. As a natural pozzolan, pumice does not require advanced equipment to prepare for consumption and only needs to be powdered. Pumice has been the main focus of this research because of simple preparation. Also to validate the results, in addition to the control specimens of each design, fly ash as a known powder has been evaluated. Moreover, ternary mixes of pumice and silica fume were investigated to enhance the obtained results of binary mixes. It was concluded that pumice and slag powders indicated favorable performance in the high percentage of replacement.
In the era of building engineering the intensification of Self Compacting Concrete (SCC) is world-shattering magnetism. It has lot of rewards over ordinary concrete i.e., enrichment in production, cutback in manpower, brilliant retort to load and vibration along with improved durability. In the present study, the mechanical strength of CM-2 (SCC containing 10% of rice husk ash (RHA) as cement replacement and 600 grams of glass fibers per cubic meter) was investigated at various dosages of cement replacement by fly ash (FA) and GGBS. A total of 17 SCC mixtures including two control SCC mixtures (CM-1 and CM-2) were developed for investigating fresh and hardened properties in which, ten ternary cementitious blends of SCC by blending OPC+RHA+FA, OPC+RHA+GGBS and five quaternary cementitious blends (OPC+RHA+FA+GGBS) at different replacement dosages of FA and GGBS were developed with reference to CM-2. For constant water-cement ratio (0.42) and dosage of SP (2.5%), the addition of glass fibers (600 grams/m3) in CM-1 i.e., CM-2 shows lower workability but higher mechanical strength. While fly ash based ternary blends (OPC+RHA+FA) show better workability but lower mechanical strength as FA content increases in comparison to GGBS based ternary blends (OPC+RHA+GGBS) on increasing GGBS content. The pattern for mixtures appeared to exhibit higher workablity as that of the concentration of FA+GGBS rises in quaternary blends (OPC+RHA+FA+GGBS). A decrease in compressive strength at 7-days was noticed with an increase in the percentage of FA and GGBS as cement replacement in ternary and quaternary blended mixtures with respect to CM-2. The highest 28-days compressive strength (41.92 MPa) was observed for mix QM-3 and the lowest (33.18 MPa) for mix QM-5.

This study presents an experimental investigation into the performance of self-sensing grout formulated with a high volume of ultra-fine fly ash(UHFA). To explore the potential benefits of alternative cementitious materials, the research examined the effect of substituting UHFA with equal parts of blast furnace slag(BFS) fine powder. Both UHFA and BFS are byproducts generated in significant quantities by industrial processes. The evaluation focused on the fresh properties of the grout, including its flow characteristics, as well as the hardened properties such as compressive strength, dimensional stability(length change rate), and electrical properties. The experimental results demonstrated that incorporating UHFA resulted in a substantial reduction in the plastic viscosity of the grout, translating to improved flowability. Additionally, the compressive strength of the UHFA-modified grout surpassed that of the reference grout(without UHFA substitution) at all curing ages investigated. Interestingly, the electrical characteristics, as indicated by the relationships between FCR-stress and FCR-strain, exhibited similar trends for both grout mixtures.
This study is aimed to derive the optimum mix proportion of the combined self compacting concrete according to cement types (blast-furnace slag cement and belite cement) and to propose the basic data to field construction work after evaluating the quality properties. Specially, lime stone powder (LSP) as binder and viscosity agent are used in the combined self compacting concrete because slurry wall of an underground LNG storage tank should be kept stability of quality during concrete working. Replacement ratio of LSP is determined by confined water ratio test and main design factors including fine aggregate ratio ($S_r$), coarse aggregate ratio ($G_v$) and water-cement ratio (W/C) are selected. Also, quality properties including setting time, bleeding content, shortening depth and hydration heat on the optimum mix proportion of the combined self compacting concrete according to cement type are compared and analyzed. As test results, the optimum mix proportion of the combined self compacting concrete according to cement type is as followings. 1) Slag cement type-replacement ratio of LSP 13.5%, $S_r$ 47% and W/C 41%. 2) Belite cement type-replacement ratio of LSP 42.7%, Sr 43% and W/C 51%. But optimum coarse aggregate ratio is 53% regardless of cement types. Also, as test results regarding setting time, bleeding content, shortening depth and hydration heat of the combined self compacting concrete by cement type, belite cement type is most stable in the quality properties and is to apply the actual construction work.

self-loading, various problems related to construction can be solved as well as the save of construction cost. Thus, this study has an aim of applying foam concrete to structural purpose by adding bottom ash as a reinforcing material like fine aggregate, in contrast to conventional non-structural usage such as soundproofing or insulating materials. In addition, it was evaluated in terms of unit volume weight, flow value, air void, water absorption and dosage of foam agent wether replacement of cement by granulated blast furnace slag or fly-ash has an effect on the material characteristics of foam concrete. As results of experiments, it can be found that the increase of fine aggregate ratio, that is to say, the increase of bottom ash results in the increase of unit volume weight, while decreasing air void and flow value. But, appropriate addition of bottom ash to foam concrete makes it easy to control a homogeneous and uniform quality in foam concrete due to less sensitive to bubbles. As the replacement ratio of mineral admixtures such as granulated blast furnace slag and fly-ash increases, as unit volume weight tends to decrease. In the meanwhile, serious effects were shown on fluidity of foam concrete when more than limit of replacement ratio was applied.
