The Effect of a Child Abuse Prevention Program for Parents with Disabled Children (장애아 부모를 위한 아동학대 예방 프로그램 효과분석)

  • Purpose: This study describes the ecological variables effect on child abuse potential and the results from a prevention program for parents with disabled children aiming at decreasing child abuse potential. Method: Data was collected from 30 parents with disabled preschoolers attending an early education center in a community. The program consisted of handouts, small group lectures, support group meetings on understanding the disabled child-parents relationship, communication skill improvement, non-punitive discipline techniques, and influences of child abuse. A non equivalent pre-post test design was employed. Result: Ecological variables, and parenting self-efficacy, had a significant effect on child abuse potential in parents with a disabled child. By regression parenting self-efficacy showed(27.1 %) child abuse potential. Both parenting self-efficacy and beliefs in corporal punishment directly related to (52.0%) child abuse potential in parents. The program was effective inbringing some positive changes on pareting self-efficacy beliefs in corporal punishment, and child abuse potential toward disabled children. However, marital discord was not significantly effected. Conclusion: Child abuse prevention programs should decrease thechild abuse potential in parents. Thus I recommend a child abuse prevention program development; for parents with disabled adolescents, and teachers in disabled child education.

The Clinical Adequacy of Internalized Shame: correlation with Self-control, Aggression, and Addiction Potential (내면화된 수치심의 임상적 타당성: 자기통제력, 공격성 및 중독가능성과의 상관을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to search for empirical evidence between internalized shame with self-control, aggression, and addiction potential. Also examine the differences between clinical group and normal group. The data was collected from 100 AA participants and 380 Non-AA participants. For measuring each variable, internalizes shame scale(ISS), self-control rating scale(SCRS), Buss-Durkee Hostility inventory(BDH), addiction potential scale(APS) were used. The survey result was analyzed with Pearson Correlation, Partial correlation and t-test. The results shows: Frist, the internalized shame and the aggression, the addiction potential shows a positive correlation but the self-control shows negative correlation. Second, after control self-control, internalized shame positively correlate to addiction potential and aggression. Third, clinical group recorded a higher level in internalized shame, aggression and addiction potential than normal group; a lower level in self-control. Based on the finding, the implications of understandings, the interventions, the limitations of this study, and the suggestions were discussed.

Electrochemical Property of Immobilized Spinach Ferredoxin on HOPG Electrode

  • The stability and electrochemical properties of a self-assembled layer of spinach ferredoxin on a quartz substrate and on a highly oriented pyrolytic graphite electrode were investigated. To fabricate the ferredoxin self-assembly layer, dimyristoylphosphatidylcholine was first deposited onto a substrate for ferredoxin immobilization. Surface analysis of the ferredoxin layer was carried out by atomic force microscopy to verify the ferredoxin immobilization. To verify ferredoxin immobilization on the lipid layer and to confirm the maintenance of redox activity, absorption spectrum measurement was carried out. Finally, cyclic-voltammetry measurements were performed on the ferredoxin layers and the redox potentials were obtained. The redox potential of immobilized ferredoxin had a formal potential value of -540 mV. It is suggested that the redox-potential measurement of self-assembled ferredoxin molecules could be used to construct a biosensor and biodevice.

A Study for Identification of Nursing Diagnosis using the Roy's Adaptation Model in Maternity Unit (Roy's Adaptation Model에 의한 모성영역에서의 간호진단 확인연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the meaningful nursing diagnosis in maternity unit and to suggest formally the basal data to the nursing service with scientific approach. The subject for this paper were 64 patients who admitted to Chung Ang University Hospital, Located in Seoul, from Mar. 10, to July 21, 1993. The results were as follows: 1. The number of nursing diagnosis from 64 patients were 892 and average number of nursing diagnosis per patient was 13.9. 2. Applying the division of nursing diagnosis to Roy's Adaptation Model, determined nursing diagnosis from the 64 patients were 621 (69.6%) in physiological adaptation mode and (Comfort, altered r/t), (Injury, potential for r/t), (Infection, potential for r/t), (Bowel elimination, altered patterns r/t), (Breathing pattern, ineffective r/t), (Nutrition, altered r/t less than body requirement) in order, and 139 (15.6%) in role function mode, (Self care deficit r/t), (Knowledge deficit r/t), (Mobility, impaired physical r/t) in order, 122 (13.7%) in interdependence adaptation mode, (Anxiety r/t), (Family Process, altered r/t) in order, 10(1.1%) in self concept adaptation mode, (Powerlessness r/t), (Grieving, dysfunctional r/t) in order. 3. Nursing diagnosis in maternity unit by the medical diagnosis, the average hospital dates were 3.8 days in normal delivery and majority of used nursing diagnosis, (Comfort, altered r/t) 64.6%, (Self care deficit r/t) 13.6% in order, and the average hospital dates were 9.6 days in cesarean section delivery and majority of used nursing diagnosis, (Comfort, altered r/t) 51.6%, (Self care deficit r/t) 15.2%, (Infection, potential for r/t) 9.9%, (Injury, potential "for r/t) 8.1%, (Anxiety r/t) 5.0%, (Mobility, impaired physical r/t) 3.3% in order, and the average hospital dates were 15.8days in preterm labor and majority of used nursing diagnosis, (Comfort, altered r/ t), (Anxiety r/t), (Injury, potential for r/t) in order, and the average short-term hospital dates were 2.5days, long-term hospital dates were 11.5days in gynecologic diseases and majority of used nursing diagnosis, (Comfort, altered r/t). Surface Potential Change Depending on Molecular Orientation of Hexadecanethiol Self-Assembled Monolayers on Au(111)

  • Surface potential and growth processes of hexadecanethiol (HDT) self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) on Au(111) surfaces were examined by Kelvin probe method and scanning tunneling microscopy. It was found that surface potential strongly depends on surface structure of HDT SAMs. The surface potential shift for the striped phase of HDT SAMs chemisorbed on Au(111) surface was +0.45 eV, which was nearly the same as that of the flat-lying hexadecane layer physisorbed on Au(111) surface. This result indicates that the interfacial dipole layer induced by adsorption of alkyl chains is a main contributor to the surface potential change. In the densely-packed HDT monolayer, further change of the surface potential was observed, suggesting that the dipole moment of the alkanethiol molecules is an origin of the surface potential change. These results indicate that the work function of a metal electrode can be modified by controlling the molecular orientation of an adsorbed molecule.

  • In this paper, a self-organization framework for swarm systems in three dimensions is presented. The framework uses artificial potential functions(APFs) to direct the robots toward the goal as well as to keep them in a swarm system. This research extends conventional APFs used for self-organizations in two dimension environment to three dimensions. In three dimension environment, the ground potential for the boundary surfaces that commonly appear in three dimension environments is proposed. Accordingly, the comparison between the paths without and with the ground potentials shows the necessity and effect of ground potentials. Extensive simulations are given to show the effectiveness of the extended potentials and various properties in three dimension environments.

  • In this digest, we briefly review our current molecular dynamics (MD) simulations that utilize both the reactive empirical bond order potential (REBO) and the adaptive intermolecular REBO (AIREBO) potential energy functions. The AIREBO potential includes intermolecular interactions, so that self·assembled monolayers, and liquids, can be modeled. We have examined the mechanical and tribological properties of model self assembled monolayers and amorphous carbon films. Self-assembled monolayers are modeled by covalently bonding hydrocarbon chains to diamond substrates. Because the REBO potentials can model chemical reactions, specific compression and sliding induced chemical reactions were identified.

The Verification of Channel Potential using SPICE in 3D NAND Flash Memory (SPICE를 사용한 3D NAND Flash Memory의 Channel Potential 검증)

  • In this paper, we propose the 16-layer 3D NAND Flash memory compact modeling using SPICE. In the same structure and simulation conditions, the channel potential about Down Coupling Phenomenon(DCP) and Natural Local Self Boosting (NLSB) were simulated and analyzed with Technology Computer Aided Design(TCAD) tool Atlas(SilvacoTM) and SPICE, respectively. As a result, it was confirmed that the channel potential of TCAD and SPICE for the two phenomena were almost same. The SPICE can be checked the device structure intuitively by using netlist. Also, its simulation time is shorter than TCAD. Therefore, using SPICE can be expected to efficient research on 3D NAND Flash memory.

A Review on Past Cases of Self-potential Surveys for Dikes and Embankments Considering Streaming Potential (흐름 전위 특성을 고려한 수리시설물에서의 자연 전위 탐사 사례 고찰)

  • Self-potential (SP) surveys measure naturally occurring differences in electrical potential in the absence of artificial sources and have been applied to various fields since the first application in mineral explorations. Among various causes of SP occurrences, streaming potential is generated by the flow of groundwater, and makes SP surveys suitable for the exploration of groundwater table fluctuation, fractures, sinkholes and landslide occurrences. Recently, there has been many studies that applied SP surveys to monitor water leakage through dikes and embankments. In this review paper, we first review the characteristics and theoretical backgrounds of streaming potential in saturated or unsaturated porous media to introduce it in the embankment among various application field. After the review of the background theory, we review the past cases of field SP surveys on dikes and embankments and also the characteristics of field streaming potential data in the surveys. Further, by analyzing past studies of qualitative as well as quantitative interpretation of SP survey data, we show the possibility of quantitative interpretation of streaming potential data obtained on dikes and embankments. Consequently, it is hope that this review paper helps researches on SP surveys on dikes and embankments, and provides basis for interpretation methods of the SP data to identify leaked area and further leakage rate (or permeability).

Application of SP monitoring to the analysis of anisotropy of aquifer (대수층 이방성 분석을 위한 자연전위 모니터링의 적용)

  • To analyze the anisotropic characteristics of fractured aquifer, variations of streaming potential were measured during and after pumping over several wells at the two test sites. Surface electrical resistivity survey, normal resistivity logging, and slug test were performed at the wells to identify the hydrogeological structure. Applying the results to the recently suggested model, the aquifer of the two test sites showed confined characteristics. Anisotropic direction appeared in using equi-potential maps from self-potential monitoring results matched well with the results of the hydrogeological test. The self-potential monitoring method adopted in this study would be useful for providing a more reliable information on the anisotropy of aquifer in the pumping test at single well.
