월경전 증후군 여성에 대한 교육프로그램 효과 (The Effects of Educational Program For Women with Premenstrual Syndrome)

  • To examine the effects of an educational program with a purpose of reducing symptoms and ailments of women's premenstrual syndrome on the basis of the Self-care theory of Orem, a stimulation was carried out by using pre-and post-design of non-equity control group after choosing both an experimental group of 62 persons and a control group of 62 persons among 497 industrial women. This study was conducted from June 20, 1996 to September 30, 1996. Meantime, an education was provided for the experimental group of 62 persons for 8 weeks but no education for the control group of 62 persons. Study matters are general and obstetric characteristics, knowledge and self-care behavior and premenstrual syndrome from questionnaires with 497 industrial women, pre and post questionnaires with the control group of 62 persons and the questionnaires collected before and after providing an education for the experimental group of 62 persons, these matters were used as research data for this study and analyzed by means of the SAS program. As a result, it was shown that the scores of 497 industrial women's knowledge by age were the highest 26.36 for 20 to 29 year old women, then 25.58 for 30 to 39 year old women and 25.74 for less 19 year old women. The performance scores of their self-care behavior by age were the highest 39.17 for 30 to 39 year old women, 35.72 for 20 to 29 year old women and 32.85 for less 19 year old women, which means that the older the women are, the higher the performance degree is(p<0.01). And the scores of their premenstrual syndrome by age were 2.80 for less 19 year old women, 2.18 for 20 to 29 year old women and 2.00 for 30 to 39 year old women. Women in their teens and twenties showed more serious symptoms and ailments of premenstrual syndrome than women in their thirties(p<0.01). For the experimental group of 62 persons who received the educational program, both the knowledge of premenstrual syndrome and the degree of self-care behavior were remarkably improved(p<0.01), respectively and the symptoms and ailments of premenstrual syndrome were also remarkably reduced(p<0.01), while the control group showed no change in the knowledge, self-care behavior, and symptoms and ailments of premenstrual syndrome. The above results demonstrated that educational program based on the Self-care theory of Orem is an effective intervention to reduce the symptoms and ailments of premenstrual syndrome. The effects of the study can be generalized by extending the application in which various age groups and professional and social environments are considered together with a research to evaluate the long-term effects of this educational program. Accordingly, it is expected that it can possible not only to provide help for the women by actually applying the program to practical areas for improvement of women's health but also to suggest plans to activate it as one of health education areas.

여고생들의 비만도 및 비만과 관련된 사회심리적 요인 분석 (A Study of the Obesity Index and Psychosocial Factors Influencing Obesity among Adolescent Girls)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the dietary intake, obesity index and psychosocial factors influencing obesity among 200 high school girls in Seoul. The Social Cognitive Theory provided the Conceptual basis for this study. A cross-sectional survey was conducted to examine factors related to obesity, including self-efficacy for controlling overeating, social support for eating behavior, perception of body image and weight control, nutrition knowledge, and attitudes toward obesity. The data were analyzed using t-test and multiple logistic regression. The results of this study are as follows : 1) The mean age of the girls was 16.4 years, and the rate of overweight and obesity(measured by obesity index) was 27.0$\%$. 2) The mean energy intake of subjects was 1832.3$\pm$384.0kcal. The energy derived from carbohydrates, proteins and fats was 62.7$\%$, 13.8$\%$, and 23.5$\%$, respectively. There was no significant difference between the obese and the comparison group in energy intake. 3) The result of multivariate analysis indicated that obesity had a significant relation to the perception of ideal body image, social support for eating behavior, and self-efficacy for controlling overeating(p〈0.01). As subjects preferred thinner body images(OR=0.39) and received less social support(OR=0.93), the odds of being classified as obese increased. The odds of being obese were also associated with self-efficacy, however, the relation was not strong(OR=1.04). 4) Specific social support was related to obesity among adolescent girls. As subjects received more support from family member, the odds of being obese decreased. The emotional support as well as family member's positive nutrition behavior plays a significant role. In addition, instrumental support from friends was associated with obesity. With repect to self-efficacy, the odds of being obese were increased as subjects felt less confident in controlling overeating when tempting food was placed in front of them or after an argument. In contrast, the obese group felt more confident in controlling overeating for the rest of the specific situations examined. These findings suggest that educational interventions for weight control should incorporate strategies to help participants realize their degree of obesity, to reduce the discrepancy between current and ideal body image, to elicit and maintain social support from friends and family, and to increase the self-efficacy for changing eating behaviors.   • 목적: 최근 노인의 우울은 두드러진 정신기능의 변화로 매년 증가하여 삶에 큰 영향을 미치고 있다. 우울은 다양한 심리적, 사회적 문제를 경험하게 하고 노인 자살의 강력한 예측 요인으로 작용하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 자살 생각을 가진 우울증 노인의 삶에 대한 적응 경험을 융합적으로 이해하고자 한다. 절차 및 방법: 자조집단 내에서 GDS 척도가 17점 이상이고, SSI 척도가 9점 이상인 7명의 노인을 대상으로 이론적 포화가 될 때까지 면담을 실시하였고, 근거이론 분석 방법에 따라 자료를 분석하였다. 결과 및 기여도: 동료 집단과의 교류를 통해 우울증 노인이 스스로 삶의 중심이 되는 것이 중요하다는 것을 인지하게 되어 자신의 삶을 포용하게 되었다. 향후 연구 방향: 자살 생각을 가진 우울증 노인의 적응 경험에 영향을 미치는 동료집단과의 긍정적인 교류에 대한 경험적 연구가 확대되고 지속되어야 할 것이다.

  • The aim of this study is to show that using a Web-Based Instruction system is a better method to help counteract deficient teaching, learning conditions and facilities thus improving the students' interest, understanding, participation and skill development in Physical Education. The key findings of this study are as follows; The first advantage of using this system is that the theory of Softball is explained with the use of pictures rather than text, thus improving the students' understanding. The second is the method in which practical skills are explained and demonstrated. Action image sequences are used as opposed to the old method of using stationary pictures. This means that the learners can clearly see and understand why and, more importantly, how to use these skills. The third advantage is the technique used to teach the application of these skills. Using active rather than passive learning and thus engaging the student encourages improved participation and learning. The fourth advantage comes in evaluation: both subjective and objective questions are asked in theoretical evaluation, and the teachers can evaluate the students' understanding and skill development by filming their actual Softball games.   • The growth of the Exhibition Design Industry has been exponential both internationally and domestically since the composition and fusion of Artistic Culture and information. Since the introduction of various Display Techniques, such as, augmented reality, Virtual Reality, and 3D interactive applications, the Exhibition Display Industry has seen innovative development. Furthermore, this has transpired a new wave of change and globalization in social network and thru creative Exhibition Design this has become a turning point in the Exhibition Design Industry. The aim of this research is to find Influencing factors of domestic Exhibition Design Industry members. These factors thru self-efficacy and job satisfaction will study objectively to find what influences duty result and help members of Exhibition Design Industries to work comfortably and to increase productivity we are proposing effective and efficient development methods. To do this, we are suggesting a research model applied on variables of the mindfulness theory which is based on the emphasized unconsciousness which represents the existence of the mind. To objectively verify this research model, we have conducted surveys on Exhibition Design Industry workers and a Material Designer in Seoul.

How sWOM Contribution Motivations Vary by Cosmetics and Restaurants in Vietnam

  • The purpose of this study is to shed light on the driving motivations of contributing social word of mouth on social networking sites (sWOM) toward both tangible and intangible products. In order to develop a research model, this study adopts the motivation theory and TAM model. Data was collected from 904 members of the cosmetic and restaurant communities by using the snowball method. After assessing the validity of all constructs, the structural equation modeling (SEM) is used to test the proposed hypotheses. Results show that personal motivations (satisfaction, opinion leadership, self-enhancement, and economic incentives) and characteristics of sWOM (Perceived Usefulness and Ease of Use) have positive effect on exposure and engagement behaviors. Here are our specific findings, (1) customer satisfaction positively affects online interactions on SNSs such as Like or Sharing a content; (2) sWOM contribution behavior exists in two structures (Exposure and Engagement) and affects each other; (3) This study combines two groups of personal motivation and TAM to conceptualize a research model; and (4) The motivations of contributing sWOM between a specified service and product are rather similar. These findings help digital managers to understand consumers' behavioral contributions on SNSs and also provide interesting insights for marketers.

권력부여(Empowerment)에 대한 개념분석 (An Analysis of the Concept mEmpowermentm)

  • Recently the concept of 'empowerment' not only attracts attention in the area of management but also is considered as an useful concept in the areas of nursing theory. practice, education, and research. The purpose of this paper is to clarify the meaning of the concept 'empowerment'. More concretely, it is to find the concept that can be applied appropriately to the area of nursing management. This study uses Walter & Avant's(1983) process of concept analysis. The attributes of empowerment based on the concept can be defined concisely as follows : 1. a dynamic and interaction process 2. a partnership which values self and others : power shaving 3. mutual decision-making using resources, opportunities, and authority 4. accept autonomy and responsibility Antecedents of empowerment consist of 1) mutual trust and respect, 2) education and support, 3) participation and commitment. In regard to the consequences of empowerment, it is expected to 1) positive self-esteem, 2) ability to set and reach goals, 3) the promotion of organization's effectiveness and productivity, 4) provide effective and high quality health-care, 5) a sense of hope for the future. The concept of empowerment is certainly believed that it will help future nurses since they needs an integrated technique that can treat acute and chronic patients' nursing, individuals, families, and communities. Therefore. it is necessary to develop the instrument including the defining attributes identified in this study. Also, it is need follow up study of this concept.

금연의도에 대한 계획된 행위이론의 적용타당성에 관한 연구: 구조방정식 모형을 이용한 실증적 분석 (Applicability of Theory of Planned Behavior to Smoking-Cessation Intention: An Empirical Analysis Using Structural Equation Model)

  • Objectives: The purpose of the study was to test the applicability of the Theory of Planned Behavior(TPB) to Korean adult smokers in order to obtain an enhanced understanding of their smoking-cessation intention and to establish strategies for effective smoking-cessation interventions at the community clinic. Methods: The data came from a survey that was conducted on adult male smokers who visited the smoking-cessation clinic at H community clinic in Korea from January to November in 2006 (N=434). Included in the survey were questions asking core variables and salient belief variables dictated by TPB. A structural equation model was established using TPB and data were analyzed to examine the applicability of the theory to the understanding of the structure of variables leading to intention. Results: The analysis of the structural model revealed that the study model was statistically significant(p<.001), suggesting the high validity of TPB in explaining the structure of the data. Among the relationships in the model, negative behavioral beliefs were not significant(p>.05), and negative control beliefs and subjective norm were significant(p<.05) but not as highly as other variables in the model(p<.001). Conclusion: TPB was useful in understanding smoking-cessation intention of smokers who visited community clinic to stop smoking. More specific strategies for counseling and education need to be developed to enhance attitude and perceived behavioral control (self-efficacy) toward smoking-cessation intention, such as emphasizing health benefits of quitting smoking, and eliciting values and life principles that can help increase the intention to stop smoking.

노인 암환자의 자아통합감 회복 경험: 근거이론 접근 (Experiences of Ego Integrity Recovery in Elderly Cancer Patients: Grounded Theory Approach)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to derive a substantive theory on lived experiences of elderly cancer patients. Methods: The data were collected from February to March 2018 through in-depth personal interviews with 14 elderly cancer patients. The collected data were analyzed based on Corbin and Strauss's grounded theory. Results: The core category was "the journey to find balance in daily lives as a cancer patient by recovering disturbed ego integrity." The core phenomenon was "shattered by suffering from cancer," and the causal conditions were "physical change" and "limitations in daily life." The contextual conditions were "decreased self-esteem," "feelings of guilt toward the family," and the sense of "economic burden." The participants' action and interaction strategies were "maintaining or avoiding social relations," "seeking meaning of the illness," "falling into despair," and "strengthening the willingness to battle the cancer." The intervening conditions were "support from health care providers and family," "dissatisfaction with health care providers," "spiritual help from religion," and "the improvement or worsening of health conditions." The consequences were "having a new insight for life," "living positively along with cancer illness," and "the loss of willingness to live." A summary of the series of processes includes the "crisis stage," "reorganizing stage," and the "ego integration stage." Conclusion: This study explored the holistic process of ego integrity impairment and the recovery experience of elderly cancer patients. This study is expected to be used as a basis for the development of nursing interventions that can support patients when coping with all stages of their cancer illness trajectory.

간호대학생의 자아정체감 발달 경험 (Korean Nursing Students' Experience of Ego Identity Development)

  • Purpose: This study was done to explore the experiences of ego identity development in Korean nursing students. Methods: Data were collected from 16 nursing students through in-depth interviews. The main question was, "Could you tell me your experience of developing an ego identity?" Data were analyzed using Strauss and Corbin's grounded theory methodology. Results: The core category of the experiences of ego identity development in Korean nursing students was 'trying to be a different new person'. Action/interaction strategies were 'solving the problem using experiences', 'making one's own success story', and 'making harmony with others'. Consequences were 'being sure of oneself as a new person'. Conclusion: Korean nursing students tried to use their experiences, achieve success, and harmonize with others. Their efforts were influenced by conflicts and supports of people around. Therefore, nurse educators should understand contextual and intervening conditions of nursing students, and try to help them achieve ego identities.
