Current seismic design provisions such as ASCE 7-10 provide criteria for selecting ground motions for conducting response history analysis. This study is the sequel of a companion paper (I - Ground Motion Selection) for assessment of the ASCE 7-10 criteria. To assess of the ASCE 7-10 criteria, nonlinear response history analyses of twelve single degree of freedom (SDF) systems and one multi-degree of freedom (MDF) system are conducted in this study. The results show that the target seismic demands for SDF can be predicted using the mean seismic demands over seven and ten ground motions selected according to the proposed method within an error of 30% and 20%, respectively

Execute pair comparison that require in AHP and analyzed priority weight about criteria and items to shopping mall company selection. As the result, Appeared that 'Credibility about internet shopping mall company's transaction' is considered most heftily by importance criteria at internet shopping mall selection. Appeared that think 'Credibility of personal information leakage prevention' most important to each criteria.

This study assessed scuba divers' wetsuit selection criteria based on the gender, age and scuba diving commitment level along with identifying currently owned and preferred wetsuit types. Lamb and Kallal's Functional, Expressive, and Aesthetic Consumer Needs (FEA) Model was the conceptual framework used for this study. Scuba diving has seen consistent growth, worldwide, it is necessary to investigate with wetsuit needs of this consumer group. A survey of 302 active scuba divers participated in the study. Total participants included 202 male and 100 female scuba divers. Divers stated fit was the most highly rated criteria with don/doff being most problematic. Female and older divers regarded functional performance criterion greatly(p<.05). Highly committed divers regarded the functional quality (p<.01) and aesthetic/expressive features (p<.05) of the wetsuit as important and owned more wetsuits(p<.01). Gender saw differences in required sizes ranges(p<.001) and style preferences(p<.05). Results suggest gender, age, and commitment levels all impact the wetsuit selection criteria of scuba divers.

The supplier selection problem is perhaps the most important component of the purchasing function. Some of the common and influential criteria in the selection of a supplier include quality, price, delivery, and service. These evaluation criteria often conflict, however, and it is frequently impossible to find a supplier that excels in all areas. In addition, some of the criteria are quantitative and some are qualitative. Thus, a methodology is needed that can capture both subjective and objective evaluation measures. The Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) is a decision-making method for ranking alternative courses of action when multiple criteria must be considered. This paper proposes the AHP-based approach which can structure the supplier selection process and the achievements-based procedure which can allocate order quantities for the selected suppliers In automotive part manufacturers. Also, through the practical case of 'D' automotive part manufacturing company, we shows that the proposed AHP based supplier selection approach and the achievements-based allocation procedure of order quantity can be successfully applied for supplier selection and order quantity allocation problems.

This paper presents a two-phase quantitative framework to aid the decision making process for effective selection of an efficient freight logistics hub from 8 alternatives in Thailand on the North-South economic corridor. Phase 1 employs both multiple regression and Pearson Feature selection to find the important criteria, as defined by logistics hub score, and to reduce number of criteria by eliminating the less important criteria. The result of Pearson Feature selection indicated that only 5 of 15 criteria affected the logistics hub score. Moreover, Genetic Algorithm (GA) was constructed from original 15 criteria data set to find the relationship between logistics criteria and freight logistics hub score. As a result, the statistical tools are provided the same 5 important criteria, affecting logistics hub score from GA, and data mining tool. Phase 2 performs the fuzzy stochastic AHP analysis with the five important criteria. This approach could help to gain insight into how the imprecision in judgment ratios may affect their alternatives toward the best solution and how the best alternative may be identified with certain confidence. The main objective of the paper is to find the best alternative for selecting freight logistics hub under proper criteria. The experimental results show that by using this approach, Chiang Mai province is the best place with the confidence interval 95%.

The study examines two aspects that relate to undergraduates' selection and use of information sources for their academic assignments: (1) sources perceived useful vs. sources frequently used, and (2) source characteristics considered important as selection criteria vs. selection criteria used as reflected in characteristics of frequently used sources. A survey of 251 undergraduate students attempted to address the gaps between what students think they should do and what they actually do with regard to source selection. Characteristics of frequently used sources were analyzed to find out the criteria used for source selection. Friends/family were among the frequently used sources although they were not perceived as useful. Unlike other sources suffering gaps between the perceived usefulness and the use behavior, Web sources were the ones not only perceived most useful but also used most frequently. When the important selection criteria were compared with the characteristic of sources used often, students did not seem to actually use the selection criteria they thought important. While students considered some characteristics related to information quality (e.g., accuracy, comprehensiveness) as important criteria for source selection, the actual criteria they applied for choosing information sources could be described as 'convenient' or 'accessible' (e.g., efficient/time saving, easy to use, familiar, accessible). Based on the findings, suggestions were made to help bridge such gaps through information literacy programs and information systems design.

The purpose of the research is to examine the teachers' cognition about the math textbook selecting and to provide the implications about the rational process of the textbook selection and criteria based on the research. In terms of the research result about the inner and outer criteria of the actual process of the textbook selecting, they utilized the standard selection criteria distributed by Office of Education, and they considered 'Organization of learning contents' and 'Learning evaluation' as the most important factors. The selection method was that the answer 'After scoring the grade with matching standards, selecting by adding the total score' was the highest. In case of the actual selection, the most considerable inner criteria appeared 'Learning quantity and propriety of the difficulty level'. The outer criteria showed 'Awareness', and the difficulty in the selection process was 'in sufficient time for reviewing'. Based on this research result, we draw the implication that needs to be improved in the process of the textbook selection and the criteria.

Only a few studies have been conducted on how to select multiple classifiers from the pool of available classifiers for showing the good classification performance. Thus, the selection problem if classifiers on how to select or how many to select still remains an important research issue. In this paper, provided that the number of selected classifiers is constrained in advance, a variety of selection criteria are proposed and applied to tile construction of multiple classifier systems, and then these selection criteria will be evaluated by the performance of the constructed multiple classifier systems. All the possible sets of classifiers are trammed by the selection criteria, and some of these sets are selected as the candidates of multiple classifier systems. The multiple classifier system candidates were evaluated by the experiments recognizing unconstrained handwritten numerals obtained both from Concordia university and UCI machine learning repository. Among the selection criteria, particularly the multiple classifier system candidates by the information-theoretic selection criteria based on conditional entropy showed more promising results than those by the other selection criteria.

Material selection is a complex problem in the design and development of products for diverse engineering applications. This paper is aimed to present a fuzzy decision making approach to deal with the material selection in engineering design problems. A fuzzy multi criteria decision-making model is proposed for solving the material selection problem. The proposed model makes use of fuzzy TOPSIS (Technique for Order reference by Similarity to Ideal Solution) with trapezoidal numbers for evaluating the criteria and ranking the alternatives. And result is compared with fuzzy VIKOR (VlseKriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje in Serbian, means Multi criteria Optimisation and Compromise Solution) which is proposed by Jeya Girubha and Vinodh [2012]. The present paper is aimed to also improve literature of fuzzy decision making for material selection problem.

To be successful, Korean exporters must understand how importers identify and select suppliers. This empirically based study investigate Korean exporter\`s perceptions of the supply selection criteria and information sources in US importers use. The specific purposes of this study were to identify the importance of the supply selection criteria and information sources and to examine the effects of the amount of export on the supply selection criteria and information sources in US importer use. For this study, data were obtained from Korean exporters by means of self-administered questionnaires. The questionnaires consisted of a series of statements covering a broad of specific selection criteria and information sources and exports\` characteristics including average annual amount of export. Using a base of 312 exporters, data were analysed by using mean, one-way ANOVA, and Ducan test. Major findings if this study summarized as follows; 1) Korean exporters perceived that US importers would place importances on product price, deliverly reliability, product wordsmanship-quality, and length of deliverly lead-time, in orders. Also, the more amount of export was, the higher product wordsmanship-quality, availability of piece goods and trims, and communication channel were importantly rate. 2) Korean exporters considered the third party sources, such as recommendation from trade association and buying office and import agency, as the most important information source in US importer use. Also, There was tendency that the more amount of export was, the more information sources on suppliers was importantly evaluated. From this study, several recommendation were suggested forward to encourage export in international apparel market.
