Earthwork is an essential initial work discipline in construction projects and open to significant impacts of several factors such as weather, site conditions, soil conditions, underground installations and available construction machinery, calling for careful planning by managers. However, selection and combination of construction machinery and equipment for earthwork still depends on experience or intuition of managers in construction sites, with much room left for proper management in terms of cost, schedule and environmental load control. This research aims to analyze the performance of earthwork equipment and establish relations among various factors affecting a model for optimizing selection and combination of earthwork equipment as a precursor to the development of such model. We expect the conclusions herein to contribute to optimizing selection and combination of earthwork equipment and provide basic inputs for the development of applicable model that can save costs, reduce schedule and mitigate environmental load.

This study focuses on avoiding the failures from the wrong selections by experiences as simulation programs is not available, and suggests the methods which effectively select the alternatives when the selected model is not appropriate for the original plan. First, CC8800-1K of DEMAG has the longest boom whose length is 216 m at the maximum. The combination of the boom is feasible to second level except for MANITIWOC M 2250 (M-1200 RINGER) which is possible to third level. Second, the angle of boom is from 20 degrees to 82 degrees. Suitable angle to work is in the 55-78 degrees. The working load of crawler type and hydraulic one to be applied is 75-85% in the critical loads capacity. As increasing operating radius, crawler type is a favorable position over hydraulic one. Lastly, related problems were verified through examination by suggestions for the design of the selection methods for the case analysis. The major problems are stemming from the selection based on its experiences, unreasonable demand for the existing facility and repeated selections by the designer who accumulates his experiences via same or similar projects.
The demand for drug-induced sedation for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans have substantially increased in response to increases in MRI utilization and growing interest in anxiety in children. Understanding the pharmacologic options for deep sedation and general anesthesia in an MRI environment is essential to achieve immobility for the successful completion of the procedure and ensure rapid and safe discharge of children undergoing ambulatory MRI. For painless diagnostic MRI, a single sedative/anesthetic agent without analgesia is safer than a combination of multiple sedatives. The traditional drugs, such as chloral hydrate, pentobarbital, midazolam, and ketamine, are still used due to the ease of administration despite low sedation success rate, prolonged recovery, and significant adverse events. Currently, dexmedetomidine, with respiratory drive preservation, and propofol, with high effectiveness and rapid recovery, are preferred for children undergoing ambulatory MRI. General anesthesia using propofol or sevoflurane can also provide predictable rapid time to readiness and scan times in infants or children with comorbidities. The selection of appropriate drugs as well as sufficient monitoring equipment are vital for effective and safe sedation and anesthesia for ambulatory pediatric MRI.
Recently, instead of a matched die forming method requiring a high cost and long deliverly ten a multi-point dieless forming method using a pair of matrix type punch array as flexible dies has been developed. As this multi-point dieless forming method has some disadvantage of difficulty in precise punch control and high-cost of equipment, a new concept of multi-point dieless forming method combined with elastomer forming was suggested in this study. For optimal selection of elastomers, compression tests of rubbers, polyethylene and foams were carried out together with FEM analysis of the deformation behavior during sheet forming process using a rigid punch and elastomers. Compressive strain was concentrated on the upper central area of the elastomer under the punch, and the rubber exhibited higher concentration of the compressive strain than foams. Two-dimensional curved surface was formed successfully by the multi-point elasto-dieless forming method using an optimal combination of a rubber and foam.

Cavitation erosion-corrosion implies damage to materials due to the shock pressure or shock wave that results when bubbles form and collapse at a metal surface within a liquid. If the liquids corrosive to the material, a condition typically encountered in industry, the component materials may suffer serious damage by a combination of mechanical and electrochemical attack. To suppress cavitation erosion as well as cavitation erosion-corrosion to hydraulic equipments, innovations such as the improvement in the geometric design of the equipment or the selection of suitably resistant construction materials are necessary. This study was tested by using the piezoelectric vibrator with 20kHz, 24${\mu}$m for cavitation generation. And also, the vibratory cavitation erosion-corrosion tests on commercial mild steel SS41were carried out. We carefully observed the erosion pattern and surface photography. Specification selection, Layout, specifications and combinations of Power Drives, and Ship motions were studied for FGPP(Floating Gas-fired Power Plants), which are still needed in areas such as the Caribbean, Latin America, and Southeast Asia where electricity is not sufficiently supplied. From this study, the optimal equipment layout in ships was derived. In addition, the difference between engine and turbine was verified through LCOE(Levelized Cost of Energy) comparison according to the type and combination of Power Drives. Analysis of Hs(Significant Height of wave) and Tp(spectrum Peak Period of wave) for places where this FGPP will be tested or applied enables design according to wave characteristics in Brazil and Indonesia. Normalized Sloshing Pressures of FGPP and LNG Carrier are verified using a sloshing analysis program, which is CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics) software developed by ABS(American Bureau of Shipping). Power Transmission System is studied with Double bus with one Circuit Breaker Topology. A nd the CFD analysis allowed us to calculate linear roll damping coefficients for more accurate full load conditions and ballast conditions. Through RAO(Response Amplitude Operator) analysis, we secured data that could minimize the movement of ships according to the direction of waves and ship placement by identifying the characteristics of large movements in the beam sea conditions. The FGPP has been granted an AIP(Approval in Principle) from a classification society, the ABS.
