이 연구의 목적은 프리캐스트 기초부를 갖는 조립식 PSC 교각의 내진성능을 파악하는데 있다. 프리캐스트 기초부를 갖는 조립식 PSC 교각 실험체에 일정 축하중 하에서 횡방향 반복하중을 가하는 준정적 실험을 수행하였다.

In this study, an investigation on the geometry control of the precast segmental method(PSM) was performed and GEOCON was developed. It is an interactive software to control the 3-dimensional geometry of precast segmental bridges during the construction progress. Specially, this paper emphasized that the fabrication stage of the precast segment is the most important for the geometry control in the PSM and also descussed about some problems which can be overlooked in developing and using the geometry control softwares by explaining the GEOCON's characteristics. GEOCON was successfully applied to the surrounding road of Pusan harbor.

The numbers of geogrid-reinforced walls are widely used in Korea. This papers present the results of two failure case histories of geogrid-reinforced segmental retaining walls. The geological background of the construction sites, detailed construction sequences, and the amount of rainfall were examined. The failure of these reinforced walls are caused by the improper drainage system and foundation treatment, too sharpened curvature of corner work, and too high height of wall.

This paper presents the results of instrumentation of a two-level of soil-reinforced segmental retaining wall. Instrumentation items include the lateral wall displacements and the geogrid strains at several locations. The instrumentation is still long carried in order to examine long-term behavior. The result indicate that the upper wall has a significant effect on the behavior of the lower wall doubling the wall moved. The wall also exhibits significant post-construction movements that had ceased several months after the wall completed. The implication of the findings from this study was discussed in great detail.

Soil-reinforced segmental retaining walls(SRW) have been proven to be high earthquake-resistant structure during recent earthquakes in United States and Japan. The mechanicals behavior of the SRWs under seismic loading, however, has not been fully understood. Although the seismic design issues for the civil engineering structures have gained much attention in Korea due to the increase in frequency of earthquake occurrence, the seismic design for the SRWs has not been being implemented. This study has been undertaken with the aim of developing a more rational seismic design/analysis method for soil-reinforced segmental retaining walls. This paper present fundamentals of current seismic design/analysis method and the results of a comparative study between NCMA and FHWA design guidelines, Practical implications of the findings from this study are discussed in great detail.

In this paper, we discuss the characteristics of Segmental-Feature HMM and summarize previous studies of SFHMM. There are several approaches to reduce the number of parameters in the previous studies. However, if the number of parameters decreased, the performance of systems also fell. Therefore, we consider the fast computation approach with preserving the same number of parameters. In this paper, we present the new segment comparison method to speed up the computation of SFHMM without loss of performance. The proposed method uses the three-frame calculation rather than the full(five) frames in the given segment. The experimental results show that the performance of the proposed system is better than that of the previous studies.

It is reported that the segmental feature based recognition system shows better results than conventional feature based system in the previous studies. On the other hand, the various studies of combining neural network and hidden Markov models within a single system are done with expectations that it may potentially combine the advantages of both systems. With the influence of these studies, tandem approach was presented to use neural network as the classifier and hidden Markov models as the decoder. In this paper, we applied the trend information of segmental features to tandem architecture and used posterior probabilities, which are the output of neural network, as inputs of recognition system. The experiments are performed on Auroral database to examine the potentiality of the trend feature based tandem architecture. From the results, the proposed system outperforms on very low SNR environments. Consequently, we argue that the trend information on tandem architecture can be additionally used for traditional MFCC features.

Segmental dilatation of the small intestine is a rare form of the congenital intestinal anomaly. Many other combined anomalies have been reported in, but the association with colonic duplication has not been reported in the literature. We report a case of segmental dilatation of the distal ileum associated with colonic duplication. The main clinical and pathogenic aspects are discussed, and the literatures are reviewed.

This case report describes the treatment of a 23-year-old woman who had lip protrusion with gummy smile and mentalis muscle strain. Orthognathic surgery was performed in conjunction with orthodontics. Minimum dental decompensation was performed with presurgical orthodontics followed by an anterior segmental osteotomy for the majority of dental decompensation. Counterclockwise rotation of the maxillomandibular complex was applied by LeFort I osteotomy, and bilateral sagittal split ramus osteotomies with anterior segmental osteotomy to achieve overall facial balance. The active treatment period was 15 months. Stable occlusion and skeletal relationship were observed after a 10-month follow-up period.

Segmental intestinal dilatation is rare, which causes symptom of bowel obstruction and requires resection. The resection is not only diagnostic but also curative procedure. Recently, author experienced 2 cases of segmental dilatation of the ileum due to focal agenesis of the intestinal muscularis in 7 day & 4 day-old female neonates. The post operative recovery was excellant in the first case after resection of dilated ileum(15cm in length) and end to end anastomosis, and discharged at 20th day. But in the second case, the passage disturbance was not relieved after resection of dilated ileum (30cm in length), and author re-resected 80cm more of dilated proximal ileum at 2 weeks after the first operation. This baby discharged after diarrhea control with Loperin on 1 month after the second operation. Final histologic examination showed 1) normal population of ganglion cells in both narrowed & dilated ileum in both cases. 2) focal abscence of muscularis propria in both cases. 3) relative hypertrophy of inner circular muscle layer and thinned, multiple fragmented outer longitudinal muscle layer in case 2.
