시각기반 웜 자세의 기구학적 모형화 (Vision-based Kinematic Modeling of a Worm's Posture)

  • We present a novel method to model the body posture of a worm for vision-based automatic monitoring and analysis. The worm considered in this study is a Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans), which is popularly used for research in biological science and engineering. We model the posture by an open chain of a few curved or rigid line segments, in contrast to previously published approaches wherein a large number of small rigid elements are connected for the modeling. Each link segment is represented by only two parameters: an arc angle and an arc length for a curved segment, or an orientation angle and a link length for a straight line segment. Links in the proposed method can be readily related using the Denavit-Hartenberg convention due to similarities to the kinematics of an articulated manipulator. Our method was tested with real worm images, and accurate results were obtained.

알파인 스키 회전기술에 따른 인체분절과 스키 간 각운동학 및 상호상관분석 (Angular Kinematic and Cross-correlation Analysis between Body Segments and Ski among Alpine Ski Turning Techniques)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relative angles and cross-correlation between body segments and ski among four alpine ski turning techniques. Method: 19 alpine ski instructors participated in this study. Each skier asked to perform 4- types of turning technique, classified by radius and level. 8 inertial measurement units were used to measure orientation angle of segment and ski on the anteroposterior and vertical axis. Results: Significant differences were found between types of turning in the segments-ski relative angle on the anteroposterior and vertical axis (p<.05). Although, cross-correlation showed a high correlation between angles of segment and ski, there were significant differences between types of turning. Conclusion: Based on our results, the relative movement and timing between each segment and ski is different according to the turning techniques, so the training methods should be applied differently.

Growth curve modeling of nucleus F0 on Korean accentual phrase

  • The present study investigates the effect of Accentual Phrase on F0 using a subset of large-scale corpus of Seoul Korean. Four syllable words which were neither preceded nor followed by silent pauses were presumed to be canonical exemplars of Accentual Phrases in Korean. These four syllable words were extracted from female speakers' speech samples. Growth curve analyses, combination of regression and polynomial curve fitting, were applied to the four syllable words. Four syllable words were divided into four groups depending on the categorical status of the initial segment: voiceless obstruents, voiced obstruents, sonorants, and vowels. Results of growth curve analyses indicate that initial segment types have an effect on the F0 (in semitone) in the nucleus of the initial syllable, and the cubic polynomial term revealed that some of the medial low tones in the 4 syllable words may be guided by the principle of contrast maximization, while others may be governed by the principle of ease of articulation.

  • 본 논문에서는 대역폭과 지연 파라미터를 참조하여 PG내의 토폴로지 정보를 요약하는 기법으로 라인 세그먼트를 이용하여 경계노드 사이의 다중 경로 정보를 요약하였다. 이를 위해 토폴로지 요약 정보를 줄이고 다중링크 요약에 유연성을 부여하기 위하여 대역폭과 지연의 한 쌍으로 구성된 두 개의 라인 세그먼트를 이용하는 수정된 라인 세그먼트 기법을 제안하였다. 시뮬레이션 분석결과 제안된 star TA 기법이 기존의 기법보다 성능이 향상됨을 알 수 있었다.

  • This paper presents 3D line segment extraction method, which can be used in generating 3D rooftop model. The core of our method is that 3D line segment is extracted by using line fitting of elevation data on 2D line coordinates of ortho-image. In order to use elevations in line fitting, the elevations should be reliable. To measure the reliability of elevation, in this paper, we employ the concept of self-consistency. We test the effectiveness of the proposed method with a quantitative accuracy analysis using synthetic images generated from Avenches data set of Ascona aerial images. Experimental results indicate that the proposed method shows average 30 line errors of .16 - .30 meters, which are about $10\%$ of the conventional area-based method.

  • The patient,20 year-old female, complained of anterior open bite. She had tongue thrusting habit and suffered from maxillary sinusitis since 12-years old. Cephalometric analysis revealed slightly forward relationship in maxilla, but normal in mandible. The anterior open bite was corrected through retraction and extrusion of anterior segment and mesial movement of posterior segment under multibanded system after extraction of 4-first premolars. After 2 years and 3 months, she gained ideal overbite, overjet and good interdigitation of buccal segment.

Prediction of Speed in Urban Freeway Having More Freight Vehicles - Based in I-696 in Michigan -

  • Generally an urban freeway means a primary arterial which provides road users with a free-flow speed, except for ramp junctions during rush hours. However, most road users suffer from traffic congestion in the basic segments as well as in the ramp junctions of urban freeway during rush hours, because most road users prefer urban freeways to local roads in the urban areas. This study then intends to analyze lane traffic characteristics of urban freeway basic segments having more freight vehicles during rush hours, find the lane showing a high correlation with the segment speed between lane speeds, and finally suggest a segment-speed predictive model by the lane speed of urban freeway basic segments during rush hours.

  • The purpose of this study is to apply the partial-size die forming process to actual segment head farming process of semi-ellipsoidal heads and to verify the availability of the suggested forming method. The initial curvature for the preliminary forming process was determined through anticlastic behavior of plate bending and the partial-size die for final forming was designed based on the results of springback analysis using F.EA. From the results of actual forming, it was concluded that die design was appropriate and proposed forming process would be successfully applied to actual forming jobs.

For this goal, surveys were designed and conducted to understand the current informatization situations of agriculture corporations in Korea. The survey covers the plan for utilizing information technology, the establishment of infrastructure for information technology, IT application status, and its effect on their performance. The specific focus of our research is to segment the corporations by their type of industries and their level of sales and give differentiated managerial implications for each segment. 암반층에서 쉴드 TBM 터널 세그먼트의 작용하중 산정방법에 관한 연구 (A Study on Earth Pressure Calculating Method about Shield TBM Tunnel Segments in the Rock)

  • 본 연구에서는 쉴드 TBM 공법의 다양한 세그먼트 모델링 기법에 따른 비교 해석을 통하여 해석기법에 따른 차이를 분석하고 이에 따른 합리적인 모델링 기법을 제안하였다. 또한 암반 이완하중 산정모델에 따른 하중 분석 및 3차원 유한요소해석을 통하여 실제 현장에서 적용 가능한 합리적인 하중산정 방법을 제시하였다. 암반분류에 의한 이완영역의 산정방법은 암반등급이 높은 지반에서는 결과의 차이가 크지 않으나 지반등급이 낮은 지반에서는 그 차이가 매우 크게 나타났으며, 3차원 해석에 의한 이완영역 산정결과 지반등급이 낮은 지반의 이완영역은 각 방법의 중간 정도 범위에 위치할 것으로 예측되었으며 지반등급이 낮은 지반의 세그먼트 계획 시에는 기계식 터널 굴착 특성을 반영한 3차원 해석을 통한 이완영역의 산정을 적극 검토할 필요가 있다.
