In this paper, a hierarchical authentication protocol is proposed to minimize authentication delay in proxy mobile IPv6 networks. The authentication function of the AAA server is distributed to the LMAs and the MAGs. If the LMAs or the MAGs have authentication information of the MNs, they authenticate the MN on behalf of the AAA servers. Therefore, the authentication delay is reduced. The AAA server is vulnerable to denial-of-service attack. If the AAA server is down, MNs cannot access the proxy mobile IPv6 network until they are authenticated. The proposed scheme reduces the load on the AAA server by distributing the authentication function to the LMAs and the MAGs.

In this paper, we analyze the characteristics and ATM applications for fingerprint, iris, vein recognition technology that can be applied to the ATM to reinforce security. Describe the important requirements to be considered when introducing a biometric authentication in the ATM, and were compared to each biometric authentication scheme based on these requirements. Fingerprint authentication has limitations in accuracy, iris recognition is a big weakness in user convenience, whereas vein recognition has the advantage of being hygienic, yet excellent accuracy and secrecy. Vein authentication approach is expected to be expanded to apply to ATM due to the many advantages.

Wireless mesh networks (WMNs) provide an efficient and flexible method to the field of wireless networking, but also bring many security issues. A mesh point may lose all of its available links during its movement. Thus, the mesh point needs to handover to a new mesh point in order to obtain access to the network again. For multi-domain WMNs, we proposed a new ID-based signcryption scheme and accordingly present a novel ID-based handover protocol for mesh points. The mutual authentication and key establishment of two mesh points which belong to different trust domains can be achieved by using a single one-round message exchange during the authentication phase. The authentication server is not involved in our handover authentication protocol so that mutual authentication can be completed directly by the mesh points. Meanwhile, the data transmitted between the two mesh points can be carried by the authentication messages. Moreover, there are no restrictions on the PKG system parameters in our proposed multi-domain ID-based signcryption scheme so our handover scheme can be easily applied to real WMNs circumstances. Security of the signcryption scheme is proved in the random oracle model. It shows that our protocol satisfies the basic security requirements and is resistant to existing attacks based on the security of the signcryption. The analysis of the performance demonstrates that the protocol is efficient and suitable for the multi-domain WMNs environment.

Mobile Crowdsourcing (MCS) has become an emerging paradigm evolved from crowdsourcing by employing advanced features of mobile devices such as smartphones to perform more complicated, especially spatial tasks. One of the key procedures in MCS is to collect answers from mobile users (workers), which may face several security issues. First, authentication is required to ensure that answers are from authorized workers. In addition, MCS tasks are usually location-dependent, so the collected answers could disclose workers' location privacy, which may discourage workers to participate in the tasks. Finally, the overhead occurred by authentication and privacy protection should be minimized since mobile devices are resource-constrained. Considering all the above concerns, in this paper, we propose a lightweight and privacy-preserving answer collection scheme for MCS. In the proposed scheme, we achieve anonymous authentication based on traceable ring signature, which provides authentication, anonymity, as well as traceability by enabling malicious workers tracing. In order to balance user location privacy and data availability, we propose a new concept named current location privacy, which means the location of the worker cannot be disclosed to anyone until a specified time. Since the leakage of current location will seriously threaten workers' personal safety, causing such as absence or presence disclosure attacks, it is necessary to pay attention to the current location privacy of workers in MCS. We encrypt the collected answers based on timed-release encryption, ensuring the secure transmission and high availability of data, as well as preserving the current location privacy of workers. Finally, we analyze the security and performance of the proposed scheme. The experimental results show that the computation costs of a worker depend on the number of ring signature members, which indicates the flexibility for a worker to choose an appropriate size of the group under considerations of privacy and efficiency.

Recent advances in healthcare technologies along with improved medical care have led to a steady increase in life expectancy over the past few decades. As a result, the world population is aging rapidly. Various researches have been carried out to provide information and communication technologies based solutions that enhance the well-being of elderly people and provide them with a well margin of independency in their daily life. Ambient assisted living can be defined as the use of information and communication technologies in a person's daily living and working environment to enable them to stay active longer, remain socially connected and live independently into old age. Since the information transmitted in ambient assisted living systems is very sensitive, the security and privacy of such data are becoming important issues that must be dealt with. In this paper, we propose a novel lightweight authentication protocol for the ambient assisted living systems. The proposed authentication protocol not only supports several important security requirements needed by the ambient assisted living systems, but can also withstand various types of attacks. In addition, the security analysis results show that the proposed authentication protocol is more efficient and secure than the existing authentication protocols.

Due to the rapidly ageing population and low birth rates, most countries have faced with the problems of an ageing population. As a result, research into aging and the means to support an aging population has therefore become a priority for many governments around the world. Ambient Assisted Living(AAL) approach is the way to guarantee better life conditions for the aged and for monitoring their health conditions by the development of innovative technologies and services. AAL technologies can provide more safety for the elderly, offering emergency response mechanisms and fall detection solutions. Since the information transmitted in AAL systems is very personal, however, the security and privacy of such data are becoming important issues that must be dealt with. In this paper, we propose a Chameleon hash-based secure authentication protocol for AAL systems. The proposed authentication protocol not only supports several important security requirements needed by the AAL systems, but can also withstand various types of attacks. In addition, the security analysis results show that the proposed authentication protocol is more efficient and secure than the existing authentication protocols.

In this paper we challenge the user Authentication using Kerberos V5 authentication protocol in Ad-hoc network environment. Ad-hoc network is a collection of wireless mobile nodes without the support of a stationary infrastructure. and DSR routing protocol, which is one of famous mobile ad-hoc routing protocols, has the following network path problem. this paper is the security structure that defined in a mobile network and security and watches all kinds of password related technology related to the existing authentication system. It looks up weakness point on security with a problem on the design that uses Ad-hoc based structure and transmission hierarchical security back of a mobile network, and a server-client holds for user authentication of an application level all and all, and it provides one counterproposal.
As smart devices become popular, users can use authentication services in various methods. Authentication services include authentication using an ID and a password, authentication using a sms, and authentication using an OTP(One Time Password). This paper proposed an authentication system that solves the security problem of knowledge-based authentication using optical character recognition and can easily and quickly authenticate users. The proposed authentication system extracts a character from an uploaded image by a user and authenticates the user using the extracted character information. The proposed authentication system has the advantage of not using a password or an OTP that are easily exposed or lost, and can not be authenticated without using accurate photographs. The proposed authentication system is platform independent and can be used for user authentication, file encryption and decryption.

Radio frequency identification (RFID) tags are cheap and simple devices that can store unique identification information and perform simple computation to keep better inventory of packages. Security protocol for RFID tags is needed to ensure privacy and authentication between each tag and their reader. In order to accomplish this, in this paper, we analyzed a lightweight privacy and authentication protocol for passive RFID tags.

This paper proposes an authentication protocol using the key server in the ECPglobai RFID system. The proposed authentication protocol uses the key server and the time-out mechanism to resist various attacks including DoS(Denial of Service) attack. For easy implementation, the proposed protocol also uses the function existing in EPCglobal class 1 gen2 protocol without additive function such as hash function. The proposed protocol is evaluated through two analytical methods. The correctness of the proposed protocol is proved using the GNY analysis. By the security analysis, this paper showed that the proposed protocol is resistant to various attacks including DoS attack. The analytical results demonstrated that the proposed protocol offered a secure RFID system.
