  • We designed a security improved document DRM for protecting document based military information which is transmitted in the military information system environment. The user should be could not access document which not related to his/her role and duty, and must view the only document appropriate for his/her role and security level according to the security level of document. We improved the security of document DRM by adding to the access control module in DRM server. Our system allows operation mode authorizations for the document, considering the user's role & security level and the security level of document. And it prevents indiscriminate access to the document and damage the confidentiality and integrity of information.

  • A small-area and high-speed authentication/security processor (WUSB_Sec) IP is designed, which performs the 4-way handshake protocol for authentication between host and device, and data encryption/decryption of wireless USB system. The PRF-256 and PRF-64 are implemented by CCM (Counter mode with CBC-MAC) operation, and the CCM is designed with two AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) encryption coles working concurrently for parallel processing of CBC mode and CTR mode operations. The AES core that is an essential block of the WUSB_Sec processor is designed by applying composite field arithmetic on AF$(((2^2)^2)^2)$. Also, S-Box sharing between SubByte block and key scheduler block reduces the gate count by 10%. The designed WUSB_Sec processor has 25,000 gates and the estimated throughput rate is about 480Mbps at 120MHz clock frequency.

  • This paper describes a design of AES-based CCMP(Counter mode with CBC-MAC Protocol) core for IEEE 802.11i wireless LAN security. To maximize the performance of CCMP core, two AES cores are used, one is the counter mode for data confidentiality and the other is the CBC node for authentication and data integrity. The S-box that requires the largest hardware in ARS core is implemented using composite field arithmetic, and the gate count is reduced by about 27% compared with conventional LUT(Lookup Table)-based design. The CCMP core was verified using Excalibur SoC kit, and a MPW chip is fabricated using a 0.35-um CMOS standard cell technology. The test results show that all the function of the fabricated chip works correctly. The CCMP processor has 17,000 gates, and the estimated throughput is about 353-Mbps at 116-MHz@3.3V, satisfying 54-Mbps data rate of the IEEE 802.11a and 802.11g specifications.

  • This paper presents a workflow validation method for data-intensive graphical workflow models using real-time workflow tracing mode on data-intensive workflow designer. In order to model and validate workflows, we try to divide as modes have editable mode and tracing mode on data-intensive workflow designer. We could design data-intensive workflow using drag and drop in editable-mode, otherwise we could not design but view and trace workflow model in tracing mode. We would like to focus on tracing-mode for workflow validation, and describe how to use workflow tracing on data-intensive workflow model designer. Especially, it is support data centered operation about control logics and exchange variables on workflow runtime for workflow tracing.

  • Standard Protocol Optimized for Resource-Constrained IoT Environment Constrained Application Protocol (CoAP) supports web-based communication between a sensor node in the IoT environment and a client on the Internet. The CoAP is a Request / Response model that responds to the client's CoAP Request message by responding with a CoAP Response message from the server. CoAP recommends the use of CoAP-DTLS for message protection. However, validation of the use of DTLS in the IoT environment is underway. We analyze CoAP and DTLS security mode, evaluate performance of secure channel creation time, security channel creation step time, and RAM / ROM consumption through Cooja simulator and evaluate the possibility of real environment application.

  • In this paper, an Information Security protocol in LLC/MAC Layer Architecture is discussed. This paper examines the security Vulnerability and threats, the security Service required to protect these threats, and architectural considerations of security protocol in IEEE 802 LAN architecture. To provide an Information security service, an information security protocol(SP2 : Security Protocol 2) PDU construction with LLC/MAC service primitives is suggested. To construct the SP2 protocol, the ECB, CBC mode of DES algorithm and DAA(Data Authentication Algorithm) of FIPS is used. The SP2 protocol suggested in this paper provides data origin authentication, data confidentiality, data integrity service.

  • We propose to analyze a weakness of quantum key distribution and quantum authentication which use entangled state were proposed by Bao-sen Shi(2001) and to improve the security of the protocol. The existing protocol had a weakness against an impersonation attack of an eavesdropper, because of a only process which authenticated a third party(Center) by users. In this paper, we propose improving the security of the protocol that authenticates users by a third party using check mode which applies CHSH inequality.

  • This paper proposes a new security system for the next generation mobile telecommunication system The system is based on the network domain security of the 3GPP. The system provides confidentiality and integrity services in the RLC layer, the second layer of 3GPP. Our system has merits in that it can provide security services without any modification to the 3GPP protocol and has low transmission voerhead. Security algorithm and mode are controlled by the RRC layer, the third layer of 3GPP.

  • Graded-Index Multimode Optical fibers have recently received a lot of attention as regards their application and lightwave behavior in relation to broadband communication links. Accordingly, this aticle presents a novel lightwave mode analysis that solves the wave equation using a numerical analysis based on an eigenvalue problem method, thereby avoiding the typical complicated Bessel function method. Angular depedences and number of modes were observed as well. Future research implications will be possibly noticed such areas as bending effects and mode coupling analyses thru this research.
