Password-based authentication is the protocol that two entities share a password in advance and use the password as the basic of authentication. Password authentication schemes are divided into weak-password and strong-password authentication scheme. SPAS protocol, one of the strong-password authentication scheme, was proposed for secure against DoS attack. However it has vulnerability of the replay attack. In this paper, we analyze the vulnerability to the replay attack in SPAS protocol. Then we also propose an Improved-Strong Password Authentication Scheme (I-SPAS) with secure against the replay attack.
This paper is to suggest the secure secret sharing system in order to outstandingly reduce the damage caused by the leakage of the corporate secret. This research system is suggested as efficient P2P distributed system kept from the centrally controlled server scheme. Even the bitcoin circulation system is also based on P2P distribution scheme recenly. This research has designed the secure circulation of the secret shares produced by Threshold Shamir Secret Sharing scheme instead of the shares specified in the torrent file using the simple, highly scalable and fast transferring torrent P2P distribution structure and its protocol. In addition, this research has studied to apply both Shamir Threshold Secret Sharing scheme and the securely strong multiple user authentication based on Collaborative Threshold Autentication scheme. The secure transmission of secret data is protected as using the efficient symmetric encryption with the session secret key which is safely exchanged by the public key encryption. Also it is safer against the leakage because the secret key is effectively alive only for short lifetime like a session. Especially the characteristics of this proposed system is effectively to apply the threshold secret sharing scheme into efficient torrent P2P distributed system without modifying its architecture of the torrent system. In addition, this system guaranttes the confidentiality in distributing the secret file using the efficient symmetric encryption scheme, which the session key is securely exchanged using the public key encryption scheme. In this system, the devices to be taken out can be dynamically registered as an user. This scalability allows to apply the confidentiality and the authentication even to dynamically registerred users.
Personal mobile devices equipped with non-volatile storage such as MP3 player, PMP, cellular phone, and USB memory require safety for the stored data on the devices. One of the safety requirements is secure deletion, which is removing stored data completely so that the data can not be restored illegally. In this paper, we study how to design the secure deletion on Flash memory, commonly used as storage media for mobile devices. We consider two possible secure deletion policy, named zero-overwrite and garbage-collection respectively, and analyze how each policy affects the performance of Flash memory file systems. Then, we propose an adaptive file deletion scheme that exploits the merits of the two possible policies. Specifically, the proposed scheme applies the zero-overwrite policy for small files, whereas it employs the garbage-collection policy for large files. Real implementation experiments show that the scheme is not only secure but also efficient.
The damage to the security is increasing as public key-based ISP secure payment service is used in online banking payment system. Security technology aspect to ISP secure payment security has no special problems. But, security damage that occurs due to the simplicity of the payment system is a problem. In this paper, we propose response and plan for ISP secure payment service to minimize the damage that occurs due to the simplicity of a security settlement system. Proposed scheme is applicable to various billing systems such as secure payments, online payment, mobile payment, credit card. Proposed scheme is characterized in that can stably support the capabilities of the new billing system. Also, proposed scheme is to analyze the various security threats arising from the payment of the financial services and to describe response and plan technology.

Secure communication has been one of the main challenges in vehicular ad hoc networks(VANET) since broadcast messages from nearby vehicles contain life-critical information for drivers and passengers. So far various secure communication schemes have been proposed to secure the communication in VANET, and they satisfy most security requirements. However most of them need to put trust on roadside units(RSUs), which are usually deployed in unattended area and vulnerable to compromise. In this paper, we propose a secure communication scheme, which does not need to put trust on RSUs. And we adopt a grouping technique to averagely divide the huge burden in the server without jeopardizing the anonymity of users. Moreover we design a complete set of protocols to satisfy common security requirements with a relatively lower hardware requirement. At last, we evaluate the scheme with respect to security requirements, communication overhead, storage overhead and network performance.

With the explosive growth of computer networks, many remote service providing servers and multi-server network architecture are provided and it is extremely inconvenient for users to remember numerous different identities and passwords. Therefore, it is important to provide a mechanism for a remote user to use single identity and password to access multi-server network architecture without repetitive registration and various multi-server authentication schemes have been proposed in recent years. Recently, Tsaur et al. proposed an efficient and secure smart card based user authentication and key agreement scheme for multi-server environments. They claimed that their scheme satisfies all of the requirements needed for achieving secure password authentication in multi-server environments and gives the formal proof on the execution of the proposed authenticated key agreement scheme. However, we find that Tsaur et al.'s scheme is still vulnerable to impersonation attack and many logged-in users' attack. We propose an extended scheme that not only removes the aforementioned weaknesses on their scheme but also achieves user anonymity for hiding login user's real identity. Compared with other previous related schemes, our proposed scheme keeps the efficiency and security and is more suitable for the practical applications.
In literature, several strong designated verifier signature (SDVS) schemes have been devised using elliptic curve bilinear pairing and map-topoint (MTP) hash function. The bilinear pairing requires a super-singular elliptic curve group having large number of elements and the relative computation cost of it is approximately two to three times higher than that of elliptic curve point multiplication, which indicates that bilinear pairing is an expensive operation. Moreover, the MTP function, which maps a user identity into an elliptic curve point, is more expensive than an elliptic curve scalar point multiplication. Hence, the SDVS schemes from bilinear pairing and MTP hash function are not efficient in real environments. Thus, a cost-efficient SDVS scheme using elliptic curve cryptography with pairingfree operation is proposed in this paper that instead of MTP hash function uses a general cryptographic hash function. The security analysis shows that our scheme is secure in the random oracle model with the hardness assumption of CDH problem. In addition, the formal security validation of the proposed scheme is done using AVISPA tool (Automated Validation of Internet Security Protocols and Applications) that demonstrated that our scheme is unforgeable against passive and active attacks. Our scheme also satisfies the different properties of an SDVS scheme including strongness, source hiding, non-transferability and unforgeability. The comparison of our scheme with others are given, which shows that it outperforms in terms of security, computation cost and bandwidth requirement.

Cloud storage provides an easy, cost-effective and reliable way of data management for users without the burden of local data storage and maintenance. Whereas, this new paradigm poses many challenges on integrity and privacy of users' data, since users losing grip on their data after outsourcing the data to the cloud server. In order to address these problems, recently, Worku et al. have proposed an efficient privacy-preserving public auditing scheme for cloud storage. However, in this paper, we point out the security flaw existing in the scheme. An adversary, who is on-line and active, is capable of modifying the outsourced data arbitrarily and avoiding the detection by exploiting the security flaw. To fix this security flaw, we further propose a secure and efficient privacy-preserving public auditing scheme, which makes up the security flaw of Worku et al.'s scheme while retaining all the features. Finally, we give a formal security proof and the performance analysis, they show the proposed scheme has much more advantages over the Worku et al.'s scheme.

In 2011, C.-T. Li et al. proposed a secure user authentication scheme, which is an improvement over Kim et al.'s scheme to resolve several security flaws such as off-line password guessing attack and masquerading attack. C.-T. Li et al. claimed that their scheme prevents smart card security related attacks. Moreover, it provides mutual authentication and session key establishment. However, we found that their scheme is vulnerable to password guessing attack through password change phase, smart card forgery attack and stolen verifier attack. Moreover, C.-T. Li et al.'s scheme is not secure against password guessing attack as they claimed. In this paper, we also point out that their scheme is not practical to use.

Compared to the classical cryptography, lattice-based cryptography is more secure, flexible and simple, and it is believed to be secure against quantum computers. In this paper, an efficient signature scheme is proposed from the ring learning with errors (R-LWE), which avoids sampling from discrete Gaussians and has the characteristics of the much simpler description etc. Then, the scheme is implemented in C/C++ and makes a comparison with the RSA signature scheme in detail. Additionally, a linearly homomorphic signature scheme without trapdoor is proposed from the R-LWE assumption. The security of the above two schemes are reducible to the worst-case hardness of shortest vectors on ideal lattices. The security analyses indicate the proposed schemes are unforgeable under chosen message attack model, and the efficiency analyses also show that the above schemes are much more efficient than other correlative signature schemes.
