An Analysis of Information Security Curriculum in Elementary School practical arts, Secondary School Informatics Teaching and Suggestions for Improvement

  • 4차 산업혁명 시대를 당면하며 다양한 정보통신기술이 일상생활에 자리를 차지하고 있으나, 초, 중등 교육과정에서의 정보보안에 관련된 내용은 개인정보보호와 관련된 내용이 주를 이루며, 급변하는 보안위협에 대한 내용과 대응방안에 대해서는 교과서에서 다루고 있는 비중이 낮으며, 변화에 많이 뒤쳐져있다. 본 논문에서는 이를 개선하기 위해 초등학교 실과 및 중학교 정보 교과서에 정보보안과 관련된 교육 콘텐츠 수록하고, 사물인터넷 시대, 비대면 수업 등으로 발생할 수 있는 급변하는 보안위협을 대응하기 위해 무선 네트워크, PC보안과 관련된 교육 콘텐츠를 수록하며, 사례 중심형 정보 윤리교육을 구성하여 해킹에 대한 호기심을 근절할 수 있도록 제안한다. 본 논문을 통해 정보화 시대에서 기본적인 보안 대책을 스스로 세우고 보안 인식을 강화하여 정보보안 사고를 예방하는 데 도움이 될 것이다.

The Nature of a Method Course for Prospective Secondary Mathematics Teachers

  • Through this study, we aimed to capture the nature of a mathematics method course, called "the Curriculum Development and Teaching Methods in Mathematics Education" which is a pedagogy course for teaching for secondary school mathematics taught at a university located in a south eastern part of South Korea. The research participants include three junior students who took the methods course and a local high school math teacher with two professors. The research has three parts. First, we designed a method course to prepare the junior or senior students for a teaching practicum. The individual students gave a mini lecture about a secondary mathematical topic as a course requirement. Second, the three students watched a classroom video-clip of the high school teacher and analyzed his instruction before the actual classroom visits. Furthermore, by "Let's Learn" program for students, the course was associated with a local community through the students and so that they could visit the teacher's classroom three times to observe his math classroom teaching. The students discussed the difference between their own mini lectures and the actual math classroom teaching to develop an understanding of what it entails to teach an actual math class. Third, the first author supervised the students' activities in the program including their report for it to bring out their findings to the class of the method course. We found out this method course provided the students with the experience of various aspects of actual math lesson as well as learning theories about the pedagogy for teaching for secondary school mathematics. We conclude that this course gives a model for the method course in mathematics education for secondary school mathematics.

교육과정에 따른 중등 수학과 교과서에서 공학 도구 활용의 변화 분석 (The Analysis on Utilization Trend of the Technology in Secondary Mathematics Textbooks Based on the $6^{th}$, $7^{th}$ and 2007 Revised Curriculum in Korea)

  • 본고는 제6차, 제7차 및 2007 개정 교육과정의 중등 수학 교과서 180권에 나타난 공학 도구의 활용 현황을 내용 영역, 활용된 공학 도구 종류, 활용 방식의 관점에서 분석하고 시사점을 찾고자 한 것이다. 분석 결과 제6차 교과서에서는 주로 대수 및 해석 영역에서 계산기나 프로그래밍 언어와 같은 간단한 공학 도구의 기능 소개 및 보조 도구형태로 활용되었고, 그 빈도수가 작았음을 알 수 있었다. 그러나 제7차와 2007 개정 교육과정에 들어오면서 대수, 해석, 기하 및 통계 내용 영역에서 비교적 고르게 다양한 공학 도구가 사용되었음을 알 수 있었다. 특히 제7차에서는 인터넷의 활용이 두드러지게 증가하였다가 2007 개정 교과서에서는 많지 않음을 알 수 있었다. 제6차에서는 의도된 탐구 유형의 활용 장면이 거의 없었지만, 제7차 및 2007 개정 교과서에서는 그와 같은 활용 장면이 증가하고 있었음을 알 수 있었다. 그러나 학생중심의 탐구 학습 유형의 활용 장면은 매우 적어 앞으로 늘릴 필요가 있음을 알 수 있었다.

편수 자료 이전의 수학 용어에 대해 (On the Mathematical Terminology before the First Editing Material)

  • At present, most of school mathematical terms in elementary and secondary curriculums of Korea are Sino-Korean words. 1964 Mathematical Editing Material, which aimed to unify mathematical terms into mainly Sino-Korean words, was considered a key factor for this situation. 1964 Editing Material depended heavily on 1956 Mathematical Terminology, which contains a lot of Korean native words and displays the school mathematical terms after 1945. There are many Korean native words in the Second Mathematical Curriculum. This shows that Korean native words of mathematics had been consolidated to some extent at that time. In North Korea, a lot of Korean native words are still used in mathematics. Some Sino-Korean words were recently changed to Korean native words in South Korea. 1956 Mathematical Terminology tells the method to make Korean native words of mathematics and will be an excellent guide for making Korean native words.

Science Teacher Education in Hong Kong

  • Initial science teacher education in Hong Kong is provided by the Post-graduate Diploma in Education Programme (PGDE) for both pre-service and in-service secondary school teachers. This programme includes a balanced treatment of subject curriculum and teaching in science, general pedagogical knowledge and skills, educational psychology and school administration. The science courses in this programme also have some units that equip science teachers with the knowledge and skills that are essential for teaching a science curriculum that emphasises conceptual change and understanding of the nature and methods of science. This emphasis is illustrated by two studies: (1) Developing a conceptual change model of instruction in Biology teachers, and (2) Constructing understanding of the nature and methods of science.

우리나라 학교환경교육 현황과 발전과제 - 교사의 요구조사와 6차 교육과정 교과서 분석을 중심으로 - (Environmental Education in Korean Schools : The present and the Task)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the current status and problems in environmental education by schools which was newly established in the 6th curriculum and to propose the future agendas for environmental education. Then, we have investigated teachers' consciousness about environmental education and analysed the 6th curriculum and textbooks at primary and secondary school levels. The result of this study was as follows. 1. Most teachers thought of 'participation' as important goal of environmental education, but they actually could not practice it because of various preventing factors. 2. Most teachers thought that there were no efforts to reform textbook system and school conditions. 3. The content and goal of environmental education was duplicated and vague in each subject. The suggestions for the improvement of the environmental education based on these conclusions were as follows. 1. The systematic goal strategy of environmental education must be established. 2. We must allot appropriate roles to each environment related subjects for efficient environmental education 3. The opportunity for pre-service and in-service for teachers of environmental education must be expanded.

What Practical Knowledge Do Teachers Share on Blogs? An Analysis Using Text-mining

  • With the recent advancement of technology, there has been an increase in professional development activities, including teachers using blogs to share practical knowledge and reflect on teaching and learning. This study was conducted to identify the contents of practical knowledge shared through the K-12 teachers' blogs. To achieve the research objective, 70,571 blog posts were collected from 329 blogs of K-12 teachers in Korean and analyzed using text mining techniques. The results of the study are as follows. First, practical knowledge sharing activities using teacher blogs have increased. Teachers posted a lot of blogs during the semester. Second, primary school teachers share various curriculum activities, reflections on project classes, class management, opinions related to education, and personal. Third, secondary school teachers share summaries and reviews of curriculum, materials related to college entrance exams, various instructional materials, opinions related to education, and personal experiences on their blogs. This study suggested that blogs are widely used as a venue for sharing practical knowledge of teachers, and that blogs can be a useful way to develop professionalism.

교사들에 의한 공통과학 교과서 평가와 수업내용 현황 (The High School Common Science Textbook and Classes by the Point of Science Teacher's View)

  • High school common science is introduced by the sixth national curriculum. It consists of physics, chemistry, biology and earth science like the secondary school science. In this paper, textbooks are analyzed by the science teachers and the status of the present teaching and learning methods is reported. The detailed results are as follows; 1. Almost high school teachers choose textbook that included little the STS material. More than two teachers are teaching the high school common science and when they are chosen, they are independent with their major. 2. According to the national curriculum, they evaluated the textbooks as it is below the middle level. This evaluations are not dependent on teachers' comparement and textbook's class except the several matters based on STS (science-technology-society). 3. The teacher teaching the high school common science thought that teaching the textbook in school is worse than analysizing it. they must have emphasised on learning of inquire method than system of knowledge, introduction to material connected with real life and STS in the high school common science.

최적화 문제해결 활동에서 "CAS의 도구화"가 교육과정 내용제시 순서에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Instrumentalization of Computer Algebra System(CAS) on the Sequence of Mathematics Curriculum in the Optimization Problem Solving Activities of CAS)

  • 본 연구는 중등수학교육에서 도구화된 CAS에 기반한 최적화 문제해결 활동을 통해 CAS가 교육과정 내용제시 순서에 영향을 줄 수 있는지를 분석하기 위해 설계되었다. 이를 위하여 본 연구자는 CAS를 활용한 최적화 문제해결 활동을 구안하였으며 3개월간의 CAS 활용 수업 경험이 있으나 아직 미적분학을 접해 본 적이 없는 고등학교 2학년 7명을 선정하여 총 9차시의 수업을 실시하고, 수업녹화자료와 면담을 통해 학생들의 활동을 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 학생들은 CAS를 이용하여 미 학습된 교육내용인 미분과 삼차방정식, 무리방정식의 해구하기와 그래프 분석이 포함된 최적화 문제해결활동을 수준 높게 다룰 수 있는 것으로 나타나 CAS가 교육과정 내용제시 순서에 영향을 줄 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.

과학개념의 위계적 분석 및 그 적용을 통한 교수 효과와 과학교육과정 계열성의 타당화 평가 연구 (A Study of the Validating Evaluation of Science Curriculum Sequence and Instructional Effectiveness with the Application and Hierarchical Analysis of Science Conceptions)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the psychological hierarchy structure of science concepts and to determine the effective teaching order by comparing the teaching effects of the psychological hierarchy order with those of teaching order of the current text in order to inquire validating evaluation framework of science curriculum sequence. Key concepts were selected by tasks analysis in the seven units of elementary and secondary school curriculum. Concept formation tests were developed to evaluate each concepts achievement,. The test items were made according to each of the concepts based on 12 prototype tasks developed by Frayer(1969). To identify the students' psychological hierarchy the test items were administrated to elementary and secondary school students. Ordering theory was used to identify the students' psychological hierarchy. Nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design was used in this study as an experimental design. Teaching with psychological hierarchy order was applied tp experimental group and teaching with concept order described in the current text was applied to control group. The major results of this study are as followings: 1. The students' psychological hierarchy structures are different from logical hierarchy structures. 2. The science teachers' psychological hierarchy structures are different from not only logical hierarchy structures but also students' psychological hierarchy structures. 3. The mean score of experimental group applied psychological hierarchy order is significantly higher(p<.05) than the control group in the concept achievement.
