2차압축지수의 이론과 적용사례 연구 (A case study on the theoretical and practical applications of the secondary compression index)

  • The residual settlement due to difference between predicted and observed settlement is one of the social problems during reclaiming construction in the soft ground having a deep depth such as Busan and Gwangyang province. Prediction error for the secondary compression settlement makes the construction much harder. To examine characteristics of the secondary compression settlement, the secondary compression index is the most important factor. In this study, various empirical methods for determining the secondary compression index are evaluated. And errors applied to the design case practically are also explained. The pre loading method is the only way to reduce the secondary compression settlement and reduction ratio of the secondary compression should be investigated correctly. Hence, research results on the reduction ratio of the secondary compression are analyzed in this paper. Moreover, decrement of the secondary compression index due to over consolidation ratio is examined closely by laboratory consolidation test using clay in the Gwangyang area.

Individual-based Competition Analysis for Secondary Forest in Northeast China

  • The data of crown width with 4 directions, DBH, tree height, and coordinate for sample trees were collected from 30 permanent sample plots in secondary fore st of the Maoershan Experimental Forestry Farm, Northeast China. In this paper, the competition of individual trees in stand were discussed for secondary forest by using iterative Hegyi competition index and crown overlap index that represented the competitive and cooperative interactions among neighboring trees. Active competitors of subject tree in the competition zone were selected to calculate the iterative competition index. Using the results of crown classification based on the equal crown projection area, a new distance dependent competition index called crown overlap index (COI) was developed for secondary forest. The COI performed well in describing the crown competition rather than crown competition factor (CCF). The individual-based competition index discussed in this paper will provide more precise for developing individual tree growth models for secondary forest and it can also use to adjust the stand structure for spatial optimal management.

An Index Structure for Main-memory Storage Systems using The Level Pre-fetching

  • Recently, several main-memory index structures have been proposed to reduce the impact of secondary cache misses. In mainmemory storage systems, secondary cache misses have a substantial effect on the performance of index structures. However, recent studies still stiffer from secondary cache misses when visiting each level of index tree. In this paper, we propose a new index structure that minimizes the total amount of cache miss latency. The proposed index structure prefetched grandchildren of a current node. The basic structure of the proposed index structure is based on that of the CSB+-Tree, which uses the concept of a node group to increase fan-out. However, the insert algorithm of the proposed index structure significantly reduces the cost of a split. The superiority of our algorithm is shown through performance evaluation.

  • Influence of changing combustor pressure on flame stabilization and nitrogen oxide (NOx) emission in the swirl-stabilized flame with secondary fuel injection was investigated. The combustor pressure was controlled by suction at combustor exit. Pressure index ($P{\ast}=P_{abs}/P_{atm}$), where $P_{abs}$ and $P_{atm}$ indicated the absolute pressure and atmosphere pressure, was controlled in the range of $0.7{\sim}1.3$ for each equivalence ratio conditions. The flammable limits of swirl flames were largely influenced by changing combustor pressure and they showed different tendency compared with laminar flames. Emission index showed maximum value near atmospheric condition and decreased with decreasing pressure index for overall equivalence ratio conditions. R.m.s of pressure fluctuations also showed similar tendency with nitric oxide emission. By injecting secondary fuel into flame zone, the flammable limits were extended significantly. Emission index of nitric oxide and r.m.s. of pressure fluctuations were also controlled by injecting secondary fuel. The swirl flames were somewhat lifted by secondary fuel with high momentum, hence low nitric oxide emission. This NOx reduction technology is applicable to industrial furnaces and air conditioning system by adopting secondary fuel injection.

국내 수질에 적합한 부식성지수 선정 연구 (Evaluation of Corrosion Index by Water Quality Parameters in Korea)

  • In this study, we evaluate the corrosion indexes (CI) such as Langelier Index (LI), Larson ratio (LR), Ryznar saturation index (RSI), Aggressiveness index (AI) of water quality for raw water, treated water and water in distribution reservoir at major eight drinking water treatment plants (DWTPs) in Korea. By analyzing secondary contamination of tap water, the variation of secondary contaminants was investigated with regard to pipe materials, aging and corrosion index (CI). In addition, we suggested an appropriate CI applicable water quality and the management plan for CI monitoriing. All CI showed corrosive water quality, and they did not change significantly in the distribution network. However, Copper (Cu), iron (Fe) and zinc (Zn) concentrations as secondary contaminants increased through the distribution network. Among CI, LI was most sensitive to changes in raw water quality and drinking water treatment. Also, it has high correlations with other indexes such as RSI, AI. Therefore, LI is considered as an appropriate CI to the domestic water quality. Based on these result, we propose LI as a drinking water quality standard to control the pipe corrosion from DWTPs.

  • Deformations of clays continue beyond the end of primary consolidation: this is secondary consolidation. Mesri(1973) have shown that C $\_$a/' is related to the natural water content W$\_$n/. For clays, C $\_$a/' is approximately equal to 0.01 W $\_$n/. And the ratio C $\_$ae// C $\_$c/ is approximately equal to 0.04. In this study, coefficient of secondary compression was analyzed by the consolidation tests datas in the 3 sites. In conclusion, coefficient of secondary compression was similar to Mesri's suggestions.

레벨 프리페칭 기법을 이용한 향상된 주기억장치 상주형 색인구조 (IpCSB+ - tree : An Enhanced Main Memory Index Structure Employing the Level Prefetching Technique)

  • 주기억장치 상주형 색인구조에서는 2차 캐쉬 실패가 성능에 매우 큰 영향을 미친다. 기존에 제안된 주기억장치 상주형 색인구조들은 2차 캐쉬 실패를 고려하긴 했지만 여전히 트리의 각 레벨을 접근할 때는 2차 캐쉬 실패가 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 인식하고 트리 순회 시 각 레벨을 방문할 때도 캐쉬 실패가 발생하지 않는 주기억장치 색인구조를 제안한다. 제안하는 색인구조인 IpCSB+-트리는 다음 레벨에서 방문할 가능성이 있는 노드들을 프리페치하여 다음 레벨을 방문할 때도 캐쉬 실패가 발생하지 않도록 한다. 또한, 기본적인 구조는 노드그룹 개념을 이용하여 노드의 팬-아웃을 증가시키는 CSB+-트리에 기반하지만 CSB+-트리의 단점인 분한 비용의 증가문제를 해결하기 위한 방법을 제안한다. 성능평가를 통해 기존의 색인구조와 비교하여 제안하는 색인구조의 우수성을 보인다.

  • In present study, the influence of changing combustor pressure on flame stabilization and nitrogen oxide (NOX) emission in the swirl flame with secondary fuel injection was investigated. The combustor pressure was controlled by suction at combustor exit. Pressure index ($P^*=Pabs/Patm$), where Pabs and Patm indicated the absolute pressure and atmosphere pressure, was controlled in the range of 0.7~1.15 for each equivalence ratio conditions. It could be observed that flame stable region became narrower with decreasing equivalence ratio and pressure index. In this combustion system, stable flames were formed until $P^*=\;0.7$. Emission index decreased with decreasing pressure index for overall equivalence ratio conditions and NOx reduction rates were almost identical for $P^*<1$ regardless of equivalence ratio though EINOx values showed different level with change of equivalence ratio for $P^*{\geq}1$. It is also observed that EINOx decreased with increasing secondary fuel injection ratio. Emission index of nitric oxide was controllable by adjusting the changing combustor pressure and injecting secondary fuel and this NOx reduction technology is applicable to industrial furnaces and air conditioning system.

법률정보시스템의 색인에 관한 연구 -특히 2차 법률정보를 중심으로- (A Study on the Index Model for Secondary Legal Information Databases)

  • This study proves that the quoted legal text functions as the index which represents the contents of the text because of the characteristics of legal information, the automatic indexing in the secondary legal full-text databases can be possible without the assitance of the experts. In case of the establishment, amendment or repealing of law, change of words of index can be possible through revising the legal text quoted in the secondary legal full-text databases. Even when we dont input the full-text about retrospective documents, automatic indexing is also possible, and the establihment and the practice of expert knowledge and integrated databases are possible in case of the retrospective documents. This study indicates that it is necessary to have characteristic information the information experts recognize - that is to say, experimental and inherent knowledge only human being can have - built-in into the system rather than to approach the information system by the linguistic, statistic or structuralistic way, and it can be more essential and intelligent information system.
