  • Due to the rapidly growing number of resistant strains of bacteria, the search for antibacterial agents with new modes of action will always remain an important and challenging task. Thus, the reaction of 2-substituted or. unsubstituted-4-(4-acetylanilino)-5,6,7,8-terahydrobenzo[b] thieno[2,3-d]pyrimidine derivatives 1-3 with the hydrazine derivatives, semi and / or thiosemi-carbazides, provided the corresponding hydrazones 4-6 and semi and/or thiosemicarbazones 7-9. Claisen-Schmidt condensation of compounds 1 or 2 with the appropriate aldehyde yielded the chalcones 10, 11 which, when treated with hydroxylamine hydrochloride gave rise to the isoxazoline-containing compounds 12, 13. Furthermore, reacting the respective chalcones 10, 11 with different hydrazines, urea and/or thiourea, furnished compounds 14, 15, 16, and 17 respectively. Representative compounds were tested for their antimicrobial activity against Candida Albicans and certain gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Their MICs were then determined. Compound 15e, showed a broad spectrum of activity while most of the other com-pounds showed varying antimicrobial activity.

  • The internet contains enormous informations in various fields and therefore called 'sea of information'. It helps obtain quickly health related information including 'constitutional medicine'. But a lack of evaluation and oversight appear to result in inaccurate and misleading. So by using a series of equipment and www.naver.com, www.yahoo.co.kr, www.empas.com, the typical search engine for internet, the sites are researched by keyword 'constitutional medicine'. The results were classified into six groups as follows; The sites about pratitional Oriental Medical Doctor, private home page, advertisements of goods for health, associations of constitutional medicine, astrology or reading fortune, and etc. The internet is a useful tool that gives informations of health, easy and speedy, to users like as doctors and patients. But accuracy or reliabillity of this informations is mistrust. Especially informations of health are connected to safty of life directly, they must be verificated by the specialist and a criterion, that evaluate the sites it self, should be established.

  • As the availability of an image information has been significantly increasing, necessity of system that can manage an image information is increasing. Accordingly, we proposed the content-based image retrieval(CBIR) method based on an efficient combination of a color feature and an image's shape and position information. As a color feature, a HSI color histogram is chosen which is known to measure spatial of colors well. Shape and position information are obtained using Hu invariant moments in the luminance of HSI model. For efficient similarity computation, the extracted features(Color histogram, Hu invariant moments) are combined and then measured precision. As a experiment result using DB that was supported by http://www.freefoto.com, the proposed image search engine has 93% precision and can apply successfully image retrieval applications.

  • In this paper, we propose a proactive inference method of finding suspicious domains. Our method detects potential malicious domains from the seed domain information extracted from the TLD Zone files and WHOIS information. The inference process follows the three steps: searching the candidate domains, machine learning, and generating a suspicious domain pool. In the first step, we search the TLD Zone files and build a candidate domain set which has the same name server information with the seed domain. The next step clusters the candidate domains by the similarity of the WHOIS information. The final step in the inference process finds the seed domain's cluster, and make the cluster as a suspicious domain set. In experiments, we used .COM and .NET TLD Zone files, and tested 10 seed domains selected by our analysts. The experimental results show that our proposed method finds 55 suspicious domains and 52 true positives. F1 scores 0.91, and precision is 0.95 We hope our proposal will contribute to the further proactive malicious domain blacklisting research.
