  • The purpose of this study is to develop collaboration scripts as an instructional means to facilitate argumentation in computer-supported collaborative learning, and to analyze their effects. To develop collaboration scripts for argumentation, researchers used activity theory as a conceptual framework and refined the design principles by design-based research. Using LAMS, collaboration scripts for argumentation were developed based on the ArgueGraph. To examine their effects, 72 participants were divided into two groups by internal scripts and randomly allocated to one of three external scripts. Applying mixed methods, researchers analyzed argumentation competence related to the cognitive aspect, examined self-efficacy related to the motivational aspect, and identified the factors influencing collaborative learning processes and outcomes. Researchers found that the internal script is a critical factor to determine the dimensions, degrees, and duration of improvement in argumentation competence. That is, learners with higher internal scripts improved highly in the quality of single arguments, while learners with lower internal scripts improved continuously in the quality of argumentation sequences. The effects of the external scripts varied with the internal script levels and supporting periods. Besides, collaboration scripts for argumentation had positive effects on learners' self-efficacy, and learners with higher internal scripts had better self-efficacy. The factors influencing collaborative learning processes and outcomes showed different results depending on the learning context. Therefore, when scripting learner's interaction in CSCL, researchers should design the scripts adaptable to a natural context of activities.

  • This paper aims to investigate modeling scripts based on the mode of group interaction in a computer-supported collaborative learning environment. Based on a literature review, this paper assumes that group interaction and its mode would have strong influence on the online collaborative learning process, and furthermore lead learners to create and share significant knowledge within a group. This paper deals with two different modes of group interaction- distributed and shared interaction. Distributed interaction depends on the external representation of individual knowledge, while shared interaction is concerned with sharing knowledge in group action. In order to facilitate these group interactions, this paper emphasizes the utilization of appropriate CSCL scripts, and then proposes the conceptual framework of CSCL scripts which integrate the existing scripts such as implicit, explicit, internal and external scripts. By means of the model regarding CSCL scripts based on the mode of group interaction, the implications for research on the design of CSCL scripts are explored.

  • There are no exact copies or carvings of India's original Buddhist Scripts published in Korea that had been flowed into Japan except those of WanSanJungUiMongSanPuPo(환산정의몽산법어). YaWoonJaKyung (야운자경). KyeChoShimHakInMoon(계초심학인문) PalSimSooHangChang(발심수행장) and MongsanWhaSangPupoRackLock published by a mid-Chosun Dynasty Buddhist monk, YaWoon TaesunSa. Others are the translations by Chinese people. All printings were of woodblock except ChonjimyungYangsoo- RhockChapMoon(천지명양수육잡문) of Inkyng wood printing type. This shows perhaps that the Buddhists were so devout that they spared no effort in their prayers to head for the Paradise. Even the woodblock carver himself took his hard work for granted in his belief and engraved the blocks with all his heart taking his work as God-given task. Or. perhaps they to use wood-block printing as the demand for the Scripts soared. By the way. as the Koryo Dynasty took Buddhism as the state religion, it was natural that the Buddhist Scripts were published at TaeJangToKam (the publishing office) and were much encouraged. It is noteworthy. however, that not a few Buddhist Scripts had been published during the Chosun Dynasty despite its crack-down on Buddhism as the Confucianism was declared as the state principle. The Scripts were even published by such temples as MoonJooSa(문수사), MyoHeeAm(묘희암). SsangbongSa(쌍봉사). PyoHoonSa(표훈사), YooJupSa(유점사), YongJangSa(용장사). and AnShimSa(안심사). The fact that the Scripts were even published by KanKyungToKam(간경부감) leads us to reconsider the traditional way of thinking of the Chosun Dynasty as anti-Buddhist or flunkeyist. The historical fact that a record number of Buddhist publications had been transmitted to Japan - is it accidental? - This issue could well be another subject matter for further research. However, it should be noted that very few of abovementioned Buddhist Scripts are found in present-day Korea.

  • Purpose The main purpose of this study is to improve fake news detection performance by using video information to overcome the limitations of extant text- and image-oriented studies that do not reflect the latest news consumption trend. Design/methodology/approach This study collected video clips and related information including news scripts, speakers' facial expression, and video metadata from YouTube to develop fake news detection model. Based on the collected data, seven combinations of related information (i.e. scripts, video metadata, facial expression, scripts and video metadata, scripts and facial expression, and scripts, video metadata, and facial expression) were used as an input for taining and evaluation. The input data was analyzed using six models such as support vector machine and deep neural network. The area under the curve(AUC) was used to evaluate the performance of classification model. Findings The results showed that the ACU and accuracy values of three features combination (scripts, video metadata, and facial expression) were the highest in logistic regression, naïve bayes, and deep neural network models. This result implied that the fake news detection could be improved by using video information(video metadata and facial expression). Sample size of this study was relatively small. The generalizablity of the results would be enhanced with a larger sample size.

  • Since most documents used in web, XML, office applications are tree-structured, diff, merge, and version control for tree-structured documents in multi-user environments are crucial tasks. However research on edit scripts which is a basis for them is in primitive stage. In this paper, we present a document model for understanding the change of tree-structured documents as edit scripts are executed, and propose a method of switching adjacent edit operations on tree-structured documents based on the analysis of the effects of edit operations. Mostly, edit scripts which are produced as the results of diff on tree-structured documents only consist of basic operations such as update, insert, delete. However, when move and copy are included in edit scripts, because of the characteristics of their complex operation, it is often that edit scripts are generated to execute in two passes. In this paper, using the proposed method of switching edit operations, we present an algorithm of transforming the edit scripts of X-treeESgen, which are designed to execute in two passes, into the ones that can be executed in one pass.

  • This paper proposes a method to generate test scripts for testing embedded system in an easy manner by using hierarchical checklist. In the proposed method, a checklist is constructed with event, component and command dictionaries. And the test scripts are hierarchically generated based on the dictionaries. Since the physical layer of system input becomes abstract with component layer and event layer by virtue of the hierarchy, It is possible to generate test scripts without complicated system input information. It is easy to generate test scripts for embedded systems with similar inputs using the highly reusable dictionaries. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated with experiments.

  • This paper proposes a method of generating XSLT scripts, which support the fast transformation of XML documents, given one-to-one matching relationships between leaf nodes of XML schemas. The proposed method consists of two steps: computing matchings between cardinality nodes and generating XSLT scripts. Matching relationships between cardinality nodes are computed by using Proposed lexical and structural similarities. Based on the cardinality node matching relationships, an XSLT script is generated. Experimental results show that the proposed method has generated XSLT scripts that support the faster transformation of XML documents, compared with previous works.

  • The method of effectively merging XML documents becomes necessary, as the use of XML is popular and the collaborative editing is required in the areas such as office documents and scientific documents editing works. As a solution to this problem, in this paper we present a theoretical framework for merging individual editing works by muli-users to a same source document. Different from existing approaches which merge documents themselves when they are merged, we represent editing works with a series of edit operations applied to a source document, which is called a edit script, merge those edit scripts by multi-users, and apply the merged one to the source document so that we can achieve the same effect of merging documents. In order to do this, assuming edit scripts based on insertion and deletion edit operations, we define notions such as static edit scripts, the intervention between edit scripts and the conflict between the ones, then propose the conflict conditions between edit scripts and the method of adjusting edit scripts when merged. This approach is effective in reducing network overhead in distributed environments and also in version management systems because of preserving the semantics of individual editing works.

  • Decryption of encrypted malicious scripts is essential in order to analyze the scripts and to determine whether they are malicious. An effective decryption technique is one that is designed to consider the characteristics of the script languages rather than the specific encryption patterns. However, currently X-raying and emulation are not the proper techniques for the script because they were designed to decrypt binary malicious codes. In addition to that, heuristic techniques are unable to decrypt unknown script codes that use unknown encryption techniques. In this paper, we propose a new technique that will be able to decrypt malicious scripts based on analytical approach. we describe its implementation.
