When navigating at sea, informations like other ship's particular are very important to navigator who should make a safe maneuvering. Most of all is obtained through the optical observation and/or the radiotelephone communication, but it is not easy to perceive them when the visibility is restricted or there is some hardness in communication. In this study, we suggest the algorithm that measures the ship's length and speed on the radar screen and estimates the ship's particular such as gross tonnage, breath and type on the base of above two factors.

This paper deals with PC-based ship handling simulator, which is now widely utilized not only for total assessment of safety in harbour area but also for training purpose. The suitable mathematical model for low advance speed manoeuvre is treated with the effects of current, wind, wave, tug force and water depth. We adopt 3 dimensional graphic technique for perspective representation of relative ship motion. Some graphical panels on the screen are devised for data input/output or ship manoeuvring information. We show the real time simulation of berthing menoeuvre applied to Pusan harbour as an example.
Nowadays, reading text from screens is prevailing in everyday life. The advent of mobile information devices such as a cellular phone, PDA, and e-book reader facilitates us to enjoy various text-based contents any time and anywhere. Most studies comparing screen and paper readability show that screens are less readable than paper. Furthermore, the decrease of line length and number of lines that can be displayed on the screen of mobile information devices deteriorate text readability. This study investigated parameters affecting text readability on small screens and designed a new text layout to improve readability. We suggested a diagonally splitted layout of rectangular column, which is supposed to facilitate eye movement to trace text flow with ease. The experiment comparing readability between a traditional rectangular column and a diagonally splitted column was conducted. The result of experiment revealed that there is no significant difference between the two text layouts in terms of subjective satisfaction of reading task and a level of comprehension. However, in the screen size of $4000mm^2\;and\;8000mm^2$, reading speed was increased 18.9% and 34.0% respectively from a traditional rectangular column to a diagonally splitted column. We conducted a consecutive experiment to scrutinize the cause that improved the performance in readability task remarkably. The readability of text in a traditional rectangular column was compared with a left triangular column and a right triangular column in the condition of $4000mm^2/3:1$ ratio screen. The performance measurements revealed that participants read 21.1% and 67.6% faster respectively with the left triangular column and right triangular column than with the rectangular column. In consequence, the improvement of readability in the diagonally splitted column was attributed mainly to the increase of reading speed in the right triangular column. This research verified that the diagonally splitted column improve text readability on a small screen and this result is expected to make a contribution to designing an efficient text layout for mobile information devices
DVR(Digital Video Recorder), a recently popular visual monitoring system, is required to support multi camera channel display(upto 16 channels) with various display modes in real-time. For such a multichannel display system, it is well known that tearing artifacts become more serious. Thus, one needs to design a display system for DVR so that it does not show tearing artifacts as much as possible, but keeps real-time display speed. In this paper, we present our efforts in designing and implementing a display system which rarely ever shows tearing artifacts, but without degradation of required real-time display speed, and which displays character information stably without blinking.

A Vehicle Tracking System consists of GPS tracking device which fits into the vehicle and captures the GPS location information at regular intervals to a central GIS server, and GIS tracking server providing three major responsibilities: receiving data from the GPS tracking unit, securely storing it, and serving this information on demand of the user. GPS based tracking systems supporting a multi-session processing among RMA, RM, and RCP can make a quick response to various services including other vehicle information between RSU and OBU on demand of the user. In this paper we design RSU lower layers and RCP applications in OBU for a multisession processing simulation and test message processing transactions among RMA-RM and RM-RCP. Furthermore, we implement the additional functions of handling access commands simultaneously on multiple service resources which are appropriate for the experimental testing conditions. In order to make a multi-session processing test, it reads 30 resource data,0002/0001 ~ 0002/0030, in total and then occurs 30 session data transmissions simultaneously. We insert a sequence number field into a special header of dummy data as a corresponding response to check that the messages are received correctly. Thus, we find that GIS service system with a multi-session processing is able to provide additional 30 services in a same speed of screen presentation loading while identifying the number of session processing of Web GIS service, the number of OBU service, and the speed of screen presentation loading by comparing a single session and a multi-session of GIS service system.

Purpose : The purpose of this study is to analyze the mechanical and leaf speed accuracy of the dynamic multileaf collimator (DMLC) and determine the appropriate period of quality assurance (QA). Materials and Methods : The quality assurance of the DMLC equipped with Millennium 120 leaves has been performed total 92 times from January 2012 to June 2014. The the accuracy of leaf position and isocenter coincidence for MLC were checked using the graph paper and Gafchromic EBT film, respectively. The stability of leaf speed was verified using a test file requiring the leaves to reach maximum leaf speed during the gantry rotation. At the end of every leaf speed QA, dynamic dynalog files created by MLC controller were analyzed using dynalog file viewer software. This file concludes the information about the planned versus actual position for all leaves and provides error RMS (root-mean square) for individual leaf deviations and error histogram for all leaf deviations. In this study, the data obtained from the leaf speed QA were used to screen the performance degradation of leaf speed and determine the need for motor replacement. Results : The leaf position accuracy and isocenteric coincidence of MLC was observed within a tolerance range recommanded from TG-142 reports. Total number of motor replacement were 56 motors over whole QA period. For all motors replaced from QA, gradually increased patterns of error RMS values were much more than suddenly increased patterns of error RMS values. Average error RMS values of gradually and suddenly increased patterns were 0.298 cm and 0.273 cm, respectively. However, The average error RMS values were within 0.35 cm recommended by the vendor, motors were replaced according to the criteria of no counts with misplacement > 1 cm. On average, motor replacement for gradually increased patterns of error RMS values 22 days. 28 motors were replaced regardless of the leaf speed QA. Conclusion : This study performed the periodic MLC QA for analyzing the mechanical and leaf speed accuracy of the dynamic multileaf collimator (DMLC). The leaf position accuracy and isocenteric coincidence showed whthin of MLC evaluation is observed within the tolerance value recommanded by TG-142 report. Based on the result obtained from leaf speed QA, we have concluded that QA protocol of leaf speed for DMLC was performed at least bimonthly in order to screen the performance of leaf speed. The periodic QA protocol can help to ensure for delivering accurate IMRT treatment to patients maintaining the performance of leaf speed.
Author has made an experiment on absolute speeds of 18 screenfilm combinations that have been on sale in Korea, with various beam qualities. At this time, the beam qualities were 60kVp with the ANSI extremity phantom, 80kVp with the ANSI chest phantom and 85kVp with 20 mm aluminium filter under scatter free condition. The obtained results were as follows; 1. When three independent measurements were performed, the percent standard deviations of mAs quantities of 1.0 + fog were decreased by the hardening of the beam quality, and the decreasing tendency was somewhat great in the blue systems. 2. Generally, the increasing tendency of absolute speeds was distinct by the hardening of the beam quality in the green systems. Conclusively, the green systems were more strongly dependent upon the beam quality rather than the blue systems. Therefore, the relative speed of green systems to blue systems were great under the same condition. 3. Differences in the green systems were kept almost constant even though the beam qualities were changed. 4. They were shown the mutual relationship of absolute speed and relative speed rather than independent.
The structural characteristics of a small scale rice polisher was analyzed to improve its performance. Spraying characteristic of nozzles used for rice polishing was also analyzed by a machine vision system. The internal pressure of the polishing chamber was measured according to outlet resistance, water spraying, and roller shaft speed. In addition, the performance of the rice polisher was evaluated to improve it in the basis of internal pressure in polishing chamber, whiteness, and broken rice ratio of clean rice according to the operating conditions. Actual nozzle discharge rate and drop size were 125 cc/min and 86~97 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, respectively. In the case of water spraying on rices, the internal pressure showed 4.9~9.8N/$\textrm{cm}^2$ increase. broken rice ratio decreased, and there was no difference in whiteness. The internal pressure inueased up to two times with the increase of the outlet resistance. Also, the pressure at the upper part of screen was one and half times as high as the pressure at the lower part. In the case of water spraying rate of 150 cc/min, the roller shaft speed of 850 rpm resulted in no difference in whiteness and decrease of 0.3% in broken rice ratio, comparing to the roller shaft speed of 950 rpm.

Displayed result that handle particle contaminant and hydrospace organism included in number of ballast that is happened in ship using automatic back washing filter. Reason that remove first contaminant that is included in number of ballast is that heighten processing effect of after processing process. of the filter. Another advantage is to drop oft the solids with controlling revolution of drum screen in pretreatment filtration process. The fact that it is easy to attach and detach a several type of screen for getting the expected water quality is another advantage. Filter rotation speed at 1.0rpm is filter resistance 3.0bar and 3.0rpm is filter resistance 2.8bar. Filter out impurities from ballast water over 6.0rpm is filter resistance 2.6bar and 10rpm is filter resistance 2.5bar. Filtration system removal aquatic organism over $80{\mu}m$ in ballast water. This study shows that the filtration treatment system has a potential for the treatment of ballast water.
