A Study of Real Scale Experiment on Protection Technique of Levee Overflow Failure Using Mixed Bio-Polymer and Riprap (피마자유기반 바이오폴리머와 골재를 혼합한 제방월류 보강제 실규모 실험연구)

  • Developmental technique is mixed bio-polymer and riprap to protect the breaking of a levee. Purpose of new technique is restraint from scour and failure of bankside. Technique of this research can apply shore protection and embankment overflow reinforcement works. Because This technique is easy for construction. In order to apply the technique in fields, It is need to conduct the test-bed or real scale experiment study for stability-guaranteed. In case of embankment overflow reinforcement works, It is difficult to conduct test bed in the field. Real scale experiment was conducted in River Experiment Center. Purpose of real scale experiment is to reappear disaster scene by embankment overflow and verify restraint from scour and failure about the technique. In this experiment results, We can find the strength effect of mixed bio-polymer and riprap.

Scour depth analysis of foundation structure of southwestern sea offshore wind power demonstration complex (서남해 해상풍력 실증단지 기초구조물의 세굴심 분석)

  • In order to understand water depth distribution in the waters of the southwestern sea offshore wind power demonstration complex, field observations were conducted using a multi-beam echosounder from before construction (2018.2) to operation (2022.8). After data processing and correction of the observed depth, cross-sectional analysis was performed to calculate the maximum water depth value, and time phase analysis was performed using the maximum water depth value. The maximum water depth change rate over time tended to gradually decrease, and there was little difference in the rate of change before the construction of the wind turbine foundation structure, and the rate of change was rapid when the foundation structure was under construction. As a result of time phase analysis, the rate of change of the first (2018.02) and the second (2018.05) showed a rate between -6.27 and -4.13, on average, as the rate of change before the construction of the offshore wind farm, and there was no difference between the first and second rates. The third (2018.11) rate of change was -4.25 to -1.82, and the fourth (2019.04) rate of change was -2.34 to -1.22, and the rate of change increased rapidly after the third time. The fifth (2019.07) rate of change was -2.11 to -1.31, the sixth (2021.05) rate of change was -2.09 to -1.28, and the seventh (2022.08) was -2.11 to -1.22 rate of change, and after the rate of change reached some extent, the change was analyzed in an insufficient graph.

  • The experimental studies for the artificial reef (AFR) subsidence characteristics in the unsteady flow field and in the unsteady flow-wave field were carried out. The difference of scou $r_sidence characteristics between in the steady flow field and in the unsteady flow field wad discussed and also the long-term subsidence characteristics in the unsteady flow field were investigated. AFR subsidence characteristics was discussed with Keulegan - Carpenter number(KC), Reynolds number (Re),. Shields number (Sn) and dimensionless time (t/Tt). And the difference of subsidence characteristics between in the unsteady flow and in the unsteady flow-wave field was discussed.ed.

  • 본 연구는 교각주위에 발생하는 국소 세굴의 특성을 파악하기 위해 세굴공의 형태, 범위, 최대세굴심의 특성을 분석하였으며, 이를 위한 교각 형태의 변화에 따른 교각주위의 국소세굴 변화 양상에 관한 실험을 수행 하였다. 정적세굴조건을 유지하면서 평형상태에 도달한 후 전형적인 세굴공의 형태는 교각전면부에서 반원이고, 교각후면부에서는 반타원의 형태를 나타내었으며, 교각형상으로 인한 상대세굴심은 마름모일 때 가장 크게 나타났다. 최대 세굴심은 흐름이 교각과 부딪쳐서 하강류가 발생하는 지점인 교각전면부에 발생되었다. 이는 하강류가 교각 전면부에 세굴공으로부터 하상물질을 세굴공 외부로 이송시키는 역할을 하기 때문으로 판단된다. 마지막으로 본 실험을 통해 교각 후면부의 하류구간에서 교각에 의해 교란된 물의 흐름의 영향으로 인한 세굴공의 형상을 분석하여 보면 세굴공의 경사가 후면부에서는 완만하게 형성되어 있었고, 하류구간에는 세굴공에서 침식, 이동된 토사가 퇴적되어 하상이 원 하상고보다 높게 형성된 것을 관찰할 수 있었다.

Migration Characteristics in Sine-Wave Type Rivers

  • This paper presents a model on the migration characteristics which is developed by using the equations for conservation of mass, momentum, and for lateral stability of the streambed. This model enables prediction of the magnitude the location of near-bank bed scour as well as rates and direction of meander migration in the sine-wave type revers (SWR) of small sinuosity. It is evident from this study that the transverse bed slope factor B' and transverse mass flux factor play significant roles in predicting migration characteristics, and their values of B'=4.0 and $\alpha$= 0.4 seem reasonable. This model will produce a useful quidelines in planning, design, construction, and development of SWR basin projects.

  • 강조류하의 인공 구조물 주변 해저 침식 및 재퇴적 현상을 연구하기 위하여 1987년 8월 24일 부터 9월 26일 까지 경기만에 발달한 조류성 사퇴위에서 현장 실험을 실시하였다. 인공구조물(원통 물체) 주변에 발달한 침식 구조는 전체적으로는 타원형으로 접시모양을 하고 있으며, 후류 및 이차류에 의한 복합 침식작용에 의한 것으로 분석되었다. 아울러 연속적인 침식구조 크기 측정자료를 이용 산술적으로 침식율$(1.5-20m_3/day)$및 재퇴적율(0.13-0.18gr/cm/sec)를 추정하였다.

Channel-fill Deposits of Gravel-bed Stream, Southeastern Eumsung Basin (Cretaceous), Korea

  • Alluvial-plain deposits in the southeastern part of the Eumsung Basin (Cretaceous) are characterized by coarse-grained channel fills encased in purple siltstone beds. It represents distinct channel geometry, infill organization, and variations in facies distribution. The directions of paleocurrent, sedimentary facies changes, and channel-fill geometry can be used to reconstruct a channel network in the alluvial system developed along the southeastern margin of the basin. The channel-fill facies represent downstream changes: 1) down-sizing and well-sorting in clast and martix of channel fills and 2) internal organization of scour fill or gravel lag and overlying cross-stratified, planar-stratified beds. These findings suggest multiple stages of channel-filling processes according to flooding and subsequent stream flows. In the small-scale pull-apart Eumsung Basin (${\sim}7{\times}33km^2$ in area), vertical-stacked alluvial architecture of the coarse-grained channel fills encased in purple siltstone is expected to result from episodic channel shifting under a rapidly subsiding setting.

  • 본 연구는 장기하상변동, 단면축소세굴, 국부세굴로 일반적으로 분류되는 세굴형태 중 국부세굴의 방지를 위하여 교자 전면에서 발생하는 하강류를 차단함으로써 교각 및 교각기초를 세굴로부터 보호하여 세굴심을 감소시키기 위한 실험적 인구로서, 동시에 경제성을 확보하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 교각의 기초부의 전면에 유수방향과 대응되도록 세굴방지구조물을 설치하여 세굴방지구조물의 상부 끝단에 하강류를 방지하기 위하여 차단각을 주었고 세굴방지구조물의 폭은 교자의 폭을 고려하여 설계하였다. 이러한 세굴방지구조물은 기초에 하강류 차단 방지시설을 설치하여 세굴심의 방지효과가 약 $20\~40\%$로 나타났으며 기존의 교자기초에 설치하던 매트 및 사석보호공에 비해 경제적 시공이 가능하며, 지속적인 효과를 볼 수 있었다.

  • As the slope designs had simply followed some slope guidelines during 1960's∼1970's, of which the main purpose was to estimate earth work quantities in the feasibility stage, slope failures had been experienced in Korea Highways. Various site investigation methods for highway cut-slopes have been continuously developed, and major cut-slope failures caused by slope instability have rapidly reduced. The failure mode of recent cut-slope failures in highways during typhoon RUSA No.15. featured a debris flow in soil mass activated by flowing water. The study of the surface soil scour and the debris flow caused by heavy rainfall must be done to protect the cut-slope failures in the future
