  • Enterprise resource planning(ERP) in nature entails large scale business process redesigns and the corresponding risks. To reduce such risks, enterprise modeling(EM) approach could be adopted through which ERP is planned and effectively implemented on a consistent basis throughout the entire organization. The scope of this paper is to report on EM experiences and lessons learned in the process of ERP implementation. Through a case study, this paper presents and EM methodology which takes due account of strategic business processes, information flows, organizational requirements, and their interdependencies. To assess the impact of distributed application scenarios on effective ERP implementation, alternative EMs have been created and evaluated whether they support information requirements for strategic decisions and day-to-day operational activities, core business processes, and business functions as required. Practical issues and problems raised in the EM process have been discussed.

  • We had developed in preceding study a classification model for the Korean pine and Larch with an accuracy of 98 percent using Hyperion and Sentinel-2 satellite images, texture information, and geometric information as the first step for tree species mapping in the inaccessible North Korea. Considering a share of major tree species in North Korea, the classification model needs to be expanded as it has a large share of Oak(29.5%), Pine (12.7%), Fir (8.2%), and as well as Larch (17.5%) and Korean pine (5.8%). In order to classify 5 major tree species, national forest type map of South Korea was used to build 11,039 training and 2,330 validation data. Sentinel-2 data was used to derive spectral information, and PlanetScope data was used to generate texture information. Geometric information was built from SRTM DEM data. As a machine learning algorithm, Random forest was used. As a result, the overall accuracy of classification was 80% with 0.80 kappa statistics. Based on the training data and the classification model constructed through this study, we will extend the application to Mt. Baekdu and North and South Goseong areas to confirm the applicability of tree species classification on the Korean Peninsula.

  • The Korean government enacted the Chapter 6 as of Air Transportation to the Korean Commercial Act, which was enforced in 2011, in order to treat some arguments occurred from air transportation Contracts since air transportations has rapidly increased in Korea. Air transportations has been used more in the field of international market than in the field of domestic market under it's own characteristic. Therefore, many international agreements and protocols related to the air transportations has been appeared from old times and the 1999 Convention for the Unification of Certain Rules for International Carriage by Air ("Montreal Convention") is one of them. The Montreal Convention was adopted in May 28, 1999 at International Conference of Air Law hosted by the International Civil Aviation Organization ("ICAO") in Montreal, Canada where the Headquarter of ICAO is located. The Montreal Convention has been effected from September 5, 2003 and the Korean government ratified the convention in 2007. Therefore, the Montreal Convention came in to force in Korea since 2007. This year, 2017, is the 10th anniversary year since the Montreal Convention has taken effect in Korea. However, there are rare cases that argued the Montreal Convention's scope of application and this Article examines the Korean Supreme Court's case that argued the Convention's scope of application. Thus the Article basically analyzes the case from the perspective of the Montreal Convention's scope of application and examines the Montreal Convention's articles related to the air carrier's liability and extent of compensation for damage that occurred from the international carriage by air. Also this Article analyzes the Korean Commercial Act Chapter 6, which regulated the air carrier's liability and the Article tries to make a comparison between the Montreal Convention and the Korean Commercial Act in order to draw some scheme for the betterment of Korean Commercial Act. It is the hope that the Article contribute to the improvement of Korean Commercial Act through the comparison with the chance of the 10th Anniversary of the Montreal Convention in Korea.

  • Smart tourism is seen as a revolution in the tourism industry, involving innovative and transformative theoretical-practical approaches for the sector. As a result of its application in the tourist context, benefits can be seen such as more sustainable practices, greater mobility and better accessibility in destinations, evolution of processes and experiences of tourists. Much of this is achieved through the support of technological solutions. However, despite the immense expectations, and the many researches carried out on it, a literature summary regarding the dimensions that can be observed in each application of this smart tourism has not yet been proposed. Therefore, supported by the PRISMA recommendation, this research proposed to carry out an integrative review of the literature on smart tourism (in its different levels of application, such as the city, the destination and the smart tourism region), with the objective of mapping the dimensions that underlie it. Thus, from an initial scope of 833 intellectual productions obtained, inputs were found for the dimensions in 363 of them after a thorough analysis. The compilation of data obtained from these productions supported the proposition of 14 operational dimensions of smart tourism, namely: collaboration, technology, sustainability, experience, accessibility, knowledge management, innovation management, human capital, marketing, customized services, transparency, safety, governance and mobility. With this set of dimensions, it is envisaged that the implementation of smart tourism projects can present more comprehensive and assertive results. In addition, shortcomings and opportunities for new research that support the evolution of the theory and practice of smart tourism are highlighted.

  • South Korea's medical system has dual systems-that is, Oriental and Western Medicine. Both are different from method for diagnosis or treatment of diseases and Scientific principle. Of the characteristics of Oriental medical practice in comparison with Western medical practice, notably, it is difficult to acknowledge specific constitutions, Oriental medical doctors' discretion is broad, and Oriental medical practice has a low invasiveness. Thus, it is difficult to acknowledge human specific constitutions when grounded on Oriental medical principles, thereby making it difficult for Oriental medical doctors to argue such specific constitutions as a means of defending against their medical negligence. And, it is difficult to prove Oriental medical doctors' negligence because Oriental medical doctors' scope of discretion is broad. Collaboration of Oriental medicine and western medicine can diagnose and treat the patient's diseases from a different viewpoint, making both medicines complementary. Oriental medicine and western medicine are independent of each other, equal, thus making them divided horizontally. Horizontal medical service division involves the principle of trust, but the principle of trust does not always apply to Oriental medicine and western medicine, because if patients shift from one area of medicine to another, the scientific principle, diagnostic method and treatment method of that medical area should be different. Application of the principle of trust to both of them needs to be analyzed according to types of medical institutions where transfers occur, and to the scope of work division between them.
