This study analyses the relationship between mothers and adolescent children in current Korean society from an exchange perspective. Utilizing the 6 types of resources, I. e., service, goods, money, information, status, and affection, suggested by Foa et. al. and the distinction between positive exchange (rewards) and negative exchange (punishments), it explores what resources are exchanged, how the resources exchanged are valued by each party, whether the exchange is symmetrical or asymmetrical, and if gender and age of the child affects the exchange. A survey was conducted to 150 children--from middle school aged to college going, and their cohabiting mothers in the metropolitan Seoul. The overall findings are as follows: Positive exchanges are dominant over negative exchanges. The exchange of positive exchanges occur asymmetrically within each resource type, with the exception of affection which is exchanged in a more equal term. In general, children receive positive resources more often, but mothers value the resources given by their children more highly. Negative resources are exchanged in more symmetrical terms. Negative resources exchanged more frequently tend to have weaker negative valence. Daughters maintain a more intensive exchange relation with their mothers than sons do, and this pattern is especially prominent in the exchanges of information and affection. The age of the child has a weak effect on the exchange.
Recently, a long strike by hospital labor union emerged as a serious social issue. During the Worldcup Games in June, 2002, labor strikes broke up at 'C', 'K' and other hospitals, and in 2007, 'Y' hospital suffered much from a strike. Such series of extreme labor disputes have awakened people of importance of a more stable labor-management relationship for the medical institutions responsible for people's health than any other business organization. The purpose of this study was to examine the labor-management disputes at 'Y' hospital in 2007 and 'C' and 'K' hospitals in 2002. The results of this study can be summarized as follows; First, requests of the labor union such as pay raise, reemployment of the irregular workers as regular employees and participation of the labor union in personnel affairs are the long-held or core issues suffered by the medical institutions. Such issues are not independent from each other but complicated with each other surrounding the pay raise. Accordingly, it is not easy to determine the genuine bone of issue for labor-management disputes. Second, the model type of disputes between labor and management at medical institutions may be strike. However, it is conceived that the type of disputes would be subject to change as the essential medical service area system began to be operated since 2008. Third, the common characteristic of the labor strike among the 3 sample hospitals was occupation of the hospital lobby for a sit-in strike to maximize the negative effects of strike. Article 42 (Prohibition of Violence) of Labor Union and Labor Relation Coordination Act prohibits occupation of production or other important business facilities. In addition, since Ministry of Labor interprets that the hospital lobby belongs to the important business facilities enumerated by Article 42 of the above act, occupation of the hospital lobby for a sit-in strike may be too controversial to be admitted as a fair act of labor dispute when its legitimacy should be judged. Fourth, the counter-measures taken by the hospitals against the strike were observance of the principle 'no labor no pay,' closure, legal action, accusation, claim for recovery of damage, provisional seizure, disciplinary punishment, etc., but the principle of 'no labor, no pay' was not applied in a fair manner by 'C' and 'K' hospitals. However, 'Y' hospital applied this principle thoroughly to the strike; the hospital conduced to correction of the wrong labor-management relationship by refusing inclusion in the labor collective agreement of a provision about payment of wage during the period of strike or labor union's request to that effect during a strike. In addition, 'Y' hospital took an effective measure to end the strike earlier by notifying the labor union of cancellation of the collective agreement and banning the unionists from entering the hospital.
In the last 5 years, a total of 567 accidents of operating vessels occurred under the influence of alcohol at sea, most of which occurred in fishing boats. Accidents caused by operating vessels under the influence of alcohol at sea are causing human and physical damages. There were 69 accidents caused by operating vessels under the influence of alcohol, leading to five deaths and one missing. The social damage due to operating vessels under the influence of alcohol is also increasing. Under the current law, punishment is given lightly compared to the seriousness of violation. In order to prevent the recurrence of accidents caused by operating vessels under the influence of alcohol, cases in Korea need to be analyzed. Regulations on the crackdown in foreign countries were compared to those in Korea and reviewed. In addition, risks of operating vessels under the influence of alcohol should be provided to ship workers while improving related laws and systems. In addition, efforts should be made to reduce the number of accidents due to operating vessels under the influence of alcohol by strengthening crackdowns on ships at sea so that accidents caused by operating vessels under the influence of alcohol could be prevented in advance in the future.
This study investigated the perception and attitudes toward drug abuse among young people entering from adolescence to adulthood, and analyzed based on 1076 analytic questionnaires. Looking at the gender of the young people who participated in the survey, 699 men and 377 women had high awareness of methamphetamine, marijuana, bond, and propofol among abused drugs. It was found that 384 people (35.7%) were well aware of the dangers of drugs of abuse, but 249 people (23.1%) were well aware of the various problems caused by drugs of abuse, and 442 said they did not know. The number of people (41.1%) was almost twice as high. As for the desirable method to improve the problem of drug abuse, strong punishment were the highest at 53.6%, and school essential education was found to be an effective educational method for drug abuse prevention at 53.5%. Therefore, publicity or education projects for drug abuse prevention should be conducted more realistically, and a prevention education program that young people can empathize with should be developed. In addition, it is thought that it should help to establish a sound foundation for becoming an adult through proper education.
This paper review about the relationship between the prohibition against medical refusal and the principle of private autonomy in medical contracts. The obligation to this Prohibition in Medical Law does not restrict the liberty of contracting a medical contract. On the other hand, the prohibition limits the freedom to terminate medical contracts. Medical contracts can be terminated if the trust between doctors and patients is vanished. However certain restrictions should be placed on termination of the medical contract, because termination of the contract should not be detrimental to patients' health. According to the current medical law the medical contract is to be enforced in principle and can be revoked only with justifiable reason. At the Civil Code on Medical Contracts the freedom to terminate the medical contract is permitted, but this paper suggests the restrictions of the revocation under certain conditions. The Criminal Punishment Regulations against medical refusal should be removed. Refusal the provide medical service should be regulated by administrative sanctions under the National Health Insurance Act's obligation.
The real-name safety management system is to indicate "safety" after inspection by construction personnel before workers use it for the purpose of preventing safety accidents caused by unsafe conditions in temporary facilities and temporary constructions installed at construction sites. Purpose: By implementing the real-name system for safety management at construction sites, the objective is to respond to the "Severe Accident Punishment Act" and to improve the level of safety management at the same time. Method: In this study, a hierarchical analysis model was produced through previous studies of actual conditions such as types of safety incidents and causality at construction sites. The AHP model was used to calculate integrated weights and rankings with a pairwise comparison questionnaire for experts. Conclusion: As a result of the analysis of the upper classes, construction machinery was evaluated the highest, and real-name management system was evaluated the lowest. People's belief in free will is important in determining the causes and responsibilities of human behavior. Over the past decades, there has been debate about belief in free will in the fields of neuroscience, philosophy, ethics, and criminal law. The Free Will and Determinism Scale (FAD-Plus; Paulhus & Carey, 2011) is a test tool that measures the components related to the belief in an individual's free will. This study conducted a confirmatory factor analysis of 1,000 ordinary people of various age groups and socio-economic backgrounds based on previous studies that conducted an exploratory factor analysis (Study 1). The author has secured the reliability and validity of a number of measures. Furthermore, it was examined how the sub-item of the FAD-Plus scale, 'belief in free will,' was related to correspondence bias and locus of control (Study 2). As a result of analyzing a total of 83 subjects, high belief in free will had a positive correlation with punishment judgment for negative behavior and internal attribution, but there was no significant relationship in reward judgment for positive behavior. Based on the study results, it was proven that the FAD-Plus is valid for the general public as well, and the relationship between belief in free will, attribution bias, locus of control and behavior judgment was examined. The limitations of this study, policy implications, and research directions are discussed.
Purpose: In order to establish a safety management system led by an orderer in the construction industry, the orderer should be positioned at the peak of the construction industry safety management system and a system that can effectively support safety supervisors who can assist the orderer's role should be reflected. Method: This study collected and analyzed data on the status of safety management of construction business owners through prior research on safety management of construction business owners and a survey on the actual condition of those involved in the construction business. Results: The top priority is to improve the safety awareness and safety management capabilities of the orderer, and through these efforts, the orderer-led safety management system will be established when a national consensus on the responsibility of the orderer, such as the Serious Accident Punishment Act and the Occupational Safety and Health Act, is formed in the event of an accident such as a serious accident. Conclusion: In order to establish a safety management system led by an orderer in the construction industry, it contributes to disaster prevention by positioning the orderer at the peak of the construction safety management system and reflecting a system that can effectively support safety supervisors who can assist the orderer's role.
Hacking has raised many critical issues in the modern world, particularly because the size and cost of the damages caused by this disruptive activity have steadily increased. Accordingly, many significant studies have been conducted by behavioral scientists to understand hackers and their practices. Nonetheless, only qualitative methods, such as interviews, meta-studies, and media studies, have been employed in such studies because of hacker sampling limitations. Existing studies have determined that intrinsic motivation was the dominant factor influencing hackers, and that their techniques were mainly acquired from online hacking communities. However, such results have yet to be causally proven. This study attempted to identify the causal factors influencing the motivational and environmental factors encouraging hackers to learn hacking skills. To this end, hacker community members using the theory of planned behavior were observed to identify the causal factors of their learning of hacking skills. We selected a group of students who were developing their hacking skills. The survey was conducted over a two-week period in May 2015 with a total of 227 students as respondents. After list-wise deletion, 215 of the responses were deemed usable (94.7 percent). In summary, the hackers were aware that hacking skills are considered socially unethical, and their attitudes toward the learning of hacking skills were affected by both intrinsic and extrinsic motivations. In addition, the characteristics of the online hacking community affected their perceived behavioral control. This study introduced new concepts in the process of conducting a causal relationship analysis on a hacker sample. Moreover, this research expanded the discussion on the causal direction of subjective norms in unethical research, and empirically confirmed that both intrinsic and extrinsic motivations affect the learning of hacking skills. This study also made a practical contribution by raising the educational and policy response issues for ethical hackers and demonstrating the necessity to intensify the punishment for hacking.

In short, the social and political norms go through emergence, cascade, and internalization. This writing aims to confirm that Shang Yang's legal thought also went through these three steps and was specified. Specifying this critical mind, this writing is a result which discusses that Shang Yang's legal thought went though the steps of the selective prescriptivism of emergence, the monarchical absolutism through sever punishment, and the internal monarchism for national prosperity and military power, and that the thought was systemized. Finding that the contents of Shang Yang's legal thought correspond to the three-step theory of norms and produce the individual meaning is the independent characteristic of this writing. It is the aim of this writing that the system and meaning of Shang Yang's legal thought will be confirmed more explicitly through this contextual examination.
