  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of employees who attend graduate school on the expansion of the knowledge sharing network in their company. For this purpose, the researchers chose 10 worker-graduate students and 75 members of company 'A' that they belong to and 107 members of university 'B' that they belong to, 172 members in total. 10 overlapped employee-students were excluded. The results of this study are summarized as follow: First, the personal relations of the employee-students enhanced after they have entered the graduate school. The score for the question was 3.85 out of 5 points. Second, the employee-students played the role of the knowledge bridge between company's co-worker network and graduate school's classmate network. It was confirmed that the density of the company's network was higher than the density of the connected network of the company and the graduate school. The analysis result confirmed that the difference of the two groups was significant. This means that the company carried out exchange with more members and therefore gained various kinds of knowledge. Also, in all types of network, the structural hole of the company network was lower than that of the connected network of the company and graduate school. The ANOVA test using QAP procedure confirmed that the difference of two groups was significant (friendship network F=1.2856, p<0.05; information network F=1.278, p<0.05; and trust network F=1.23, p<0.05). It means that the company not only gained the newly acquired knowledge by the knowledge bridge of the employee-students, but also was able to share it more effectively with members. Third and lastly, the employee-students share various information related to the organization, duties and roles rest in the company throughout break time, working hours and direct inquiries. • Purpose: This study was aimed to examine the effects of smartphone overuse and individual factors including age, relationship with friends, satisfaction with school life, and time of smartphone usage on perceived cognitive functions, fatigue, and daytime sleepiness among college students. Methods: Three-hundred college students were recruited after confirming the absence of major depressive symptoms. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and multiple regression. Results: Smartphone overuse commonly explained the variance in perceived cognitive functions, fatigue, and daytime sleepiness, after controlling for individual factors. In addition, satisfaction with school life was significantly related with better effectiveness of cognitive functions while being male, having good relationships with friends and satisfaction with school life were relatively associated with a lower level of fatigue. Conclusion: The findings of this study revealed that the overuse of smartphone can serve as a psycho-cognitive burden leading to ineffective functioning in daily living. Students who are female and have issues regarding school life and friendship may be a high risk group for experiencing psycho-cognitive dysfunction associated with smartphone overuse. Further investigation is needed to develop effective interventions to improve psycho-cognitive health associated with the excessive use of smartphone in young adults.

  • Recently, school violence problem has increased serious. And this is not only an individual issue but also this is a social problem. Realistically, not only physical violence, cyber violence using the smartphone is very serious. And if the elementary school students are exposed to cyber violence, it becomes even more serious problem. Therefore, we proposed an Smart Monitoring app that protect the smart safety such as as a countermeasure against cyber violence to elementary school students. This Conversion Smart app can support grasp service for children using location based service on the smartphone when he will come to the home. And it can support another service that abuse or vulgar language in messenger. Grasps the degree of use of the language that is prohibited friendship in elementary school through this process, it can be derived. And we have future works that is the search rate and response time an inappropriate word on the proposed system.

  • This study examined the onset of adolescent delinquency through discrete-time survival analysis. Our analysis used data obtained from the Korean Children & Youth Panel Survey, and included 2,277 middle school students. The main analysis results are as follows. First, the hazard probability for the occurrence of delinquency was the highest at 16.6% in the second year of middle school, slightly decreased in the third year of middle school, but continued to increase as the overall grade increased. Second, adolescent psychological and emotional factors have significantly affected the onset of delinquency. Third, negative parenting methods had a significant impact on delinquency, but neglect was not significant. Fourth, having delinquent friends was an important factor affecting the status of delinquency. Fifth, among the school factors, adjustment of learning activities, adjustment of school rules, and adjustment of friendship relations influenced the status of delinquency, while the adjustment of teacher relations was not significant. As early intervention is important to prevent juvenile delinquency, education and support for establishing healthy relationships are needed.

  • Currently, Korean society has seen a rapid increase in international marriages since the mid-1990s, and the number of their children entering school age has been increasing every year in recent years. With the growing number of students with parents from various social and cultural backgrounds in our society, the difficulties they face are emerging as a new social problem that we should pay attention to and solve. Although the difficulties they are experiencing vary depending on their parents' nationality, social, economic status, and attitude toward raising their children, it is generally reported that they are suffering from language barriers in elementary school, study barriers in high school, and friendship barriers in middle school. In particular, the school started this research based on the problem that when students from multi cultural families did not mix well with ordinary students and could not narrow the distance between them, they could become adults and enter society in the future, causing social conflict.

  • This study is aimed at providing basic information applicable to setting up the education programs and strategies to prevent smoking among high school students by analysing smoking behavior and influencing factors. The samples consisted of 814 students, 557 parents and 362 teachers selected randomly from 8 high schools, one from each school district in Seoul. Date Analyses were made through Chi-Square test, Factor Analysis, One Way ANOVA, Multiple Regression, Correlation. SPSS/$PC^+$program was utilized. Smoking behavior (continuous smoking, re-smoking, ex-smoking, never smoking, daily smoking, occasional smoking) were used as dependent variables. Influencing factors (male students, habits, attitudes and knowledge toward smoking, home life, school life, juvenile delinquency, friendship, demographic parent's and teacher's recognition toward male students smoking) were used as in dependent variables. The major findings of the study are as follows : 1. The total smoking rate occupies 41.1% whereas the continuous smoking rate stands at 19.2%, re-smoking rate 9.5%, ex-smoking rate 12.4% and never smoking rate 58.9%. 2. The total smoking rate among high school students is significantly correlated with their monthly expenditures and type of school (p<0.001). The continuous smoking rate also shows the same tendency. As the length of butt get shorter, the current smoking rate increase. The duration of smoking is in proportion to its continuity. The major motive of smoking is curiousity whereas that re-smoking is to follow friend's behavior. The study shows that peer pressure is the most powerful factor influencing smoking behavior of students. Friends and fellow students encourage to pick up smoking and resume smoking even alter one stops smoking. 3. The correlationship between favorable attitudes toward smoking and the current smoking rate and its continuity is statistically significant(p<0.05, p<0.01, p<0.001). 4. The stability and harmony of family life and the current smoking rate show negative correlationship. The daily smoking amount of father is in proportion to the continuity of students' smoking. When parents are in favor of smoking, it is more likely that the experimental smoking rate increase the smoking rate increases, and vice versa. The more acceptable attitudes toward smoking among siblings is also one of the factors to increase the smoking rate and continuity (p<0.001). The more lenient the attitudes of parents toward their children's association with smoking friends, the higher the smoking rate. When students have difficulties in adjusting to school life, it is more likely that the current smoking rate and continuity increase. 5. The continuity of smoking and friendship are significantly correlated (p<0.05, p<0.01, p<0.001). 6. The continuity of smoking and juvenile delinquency are significantly correlated (p<0.001). 7. The difference in attitudes and smoking reasons of parents and students is significantly correlated to different smoking behavior (p<0.01, p<0.001). While smoking knowledge does not significantly influence their smoking behavior, it is noted that in the case of teachers, smoking reason (p<0.05), attitudes (p<0.001) and knowledge (p<0.05) strongly influence their smoking behavior. 8. There is a significantly correlation among the smoking reasons, attitudes and knowledge between students and parents(p<0.001). As for the correlationship between regularity and smoking amount and other influencing factors, the daily smoking amount is in proportion to depth of inhalation and duration of smoking, negative attitudes of parents unstability of family, dissatisfaction of family members, juvenile delinquency, strong smoking reasons and positive attitudes towards smoking. 9. In the case of daily smokers depth of inhalation is significantly correlated to the duration of smoking, juvenile delinquency, acceptability of parents, dissatisfaction of family members and smoking reasons. The duration of smoking motives is significantly correlated to juvenile delinquency, high acceptability of parents, strong smoking motive and positive attitudes toward smoking. 10. It is noted that 40% of parents and 30% of teachers do not recognize the significant correlationship between and the relative influencing factors mentioned above.

  • Most of the recently developed robots are human friendly robots which imitate an animal or human such as entertainment robot, bio-mimetic robot and humanoid robot. Interest in these robots are increasing since the social trend is focused on health, welfare, and graying. By these social backgrounds, robots become more human friendly and suitable for home or personal environment. The more bio-mimetic robots resemble living creature, the more human feels familiarity. People feel close friendship not only when they feed a pet, but also when they watch a pet having the food. Most of entertainment robots and pet robots use internal-type batteries and have a self-recharging function. Entertainment robots and pet robots with internal-type batteries are not able to operate during charging the battery. So far there have been a few robots that do not depend on a battery. However, they need a bulky energy conversion unit and a slug or foods as an energy source, which is not suitable for home or personal application. In this paper, we introduce a new bio-mimetic entertainment robot with autonomous feeding functionality, called ELIRO-1(Eating LIzard RObot version 1). The ELIRO-1 is able to find a food (a small battery), feed by itself and evacuate. We describe the design concept of the autonomous feeding mechanism of the ELIRO-1, characteristics of sub-parts of the manufactured mechanism and the control system.

For this purpose, we have observed ethnographically the mathematics classes of gifted youths for eight months at two Science Education Centers for Gifted Youths. We have collected qualitative data using the methods, participation observation, interviewing, video taping, recording, collecting assistant materials. And these data were closely connected and analyzed synthetically. From this, we found the followings; First, gifted youths in mathematics evaluate the academic abilities as the best standard for their friendship. Second, the gifted youths in secondary mathematics are under an obsession that they should act like gifted youths. Third, even though they know the merits of class type of inquiry and discussions, they didn't participate actively in those types of class. Forth, main differences of classes between Gifted Education Centers and general middle school come from the difference of class type, the roles of teachers and students.

  • The application of reflex media in education has been widely used in the aspects of teaching & learning method, humanitarian education and the culture of school lives. It has been resulted from the generality of the applicable scope within conveying the information, propagation velocity, and the efficiency of the amount of conveyable information through the reflex. To utilize this kind of efficiency of reflex media in producing new graduation culture, I intend to show students the graduate reflex including their 3years' school lives and try to find out its effect from them. And then with this result I have studied the changes of the students behavior in the graduation ceremony. As a result I can notice that the intent of graduation reflex which aims to look back into their past and keep in mind it has been reflected to students. In addition I can ascertain their friendship and love for their school have been lifted while watching the reflex with laugh and cry.
