In a design-to-manufacturing environment, the product data is shared by various CAD/CAM/CAE systems with little integration or substantial data redundancy. The main purpose of this paper is to build a database containing all the features required for STEP-NC machining and to show how a STEP-NC repository can support the complete process for machining. A STEP-NC database schema has been constructed and several query functions have been built for the purpose of implementing the retrieving system of a STEP-NC database. The EXPRESS data model of ISO 14649 has been mapped to the database data definition language of the Oracle database. To apply the STEP-NC database to an industry example, the ISO 14649 part program has been stored into the STEP-NC database. To implement example scenarios, the sample query interface has been built.

다중 데이터베이스 시스템은 분산되어 있고 이질적이며 자치적인 데이터베이스 시스템들의 연합이다. 다중 데이터베이스의 환경에서는 공간적으로 데이터들이 분산되어 있고, 자료의 특성에 따라 서로 다른 데이터 모델에 의해 데이터베이스가 구축되어 있으며, 독자적으로 각각의 데이터베이스 시스템에 의해 관리되고 있다. 이러한 환경하에서는 정보를 효율적이고 종합적으로 관리하고 공유할 필요가 있으며, 이에 따라 사용자 관점의 논리적인 통합이 이루어 질 수 있을 것이다. 이러한 논리적인 통합을 위해 분산된 그리고 자치적이며 이질의 데이터베이스를 통합하기 위한 통합 데이터 모델이 요구되며, 이러한 통합 데이터 모델에 의해 완전하고 일치된 정보 모델이 제공될 것이다. 본 연구에서는 객체-관계형 데이터 모델을 토대로 하여 분산·이질·자치적인 데이터베이스들을 효율적이고 종합적으로 통합하기 위한 효과적인 방안에 대하여 연구하였다.

인간의 지식구조는 현실세계의 무수히 많은 정보와 지식들의 복잡한 상호 관계들로서 연결되어 있다. 가상 현실에서 에이전트의 지식구조는 인간의 지식구조와 같이 다양하고 다량의 정보들의 표현이 이루어져야 한다. 이를 위하여 지식구조는 지식 표현 기술 분야로서 연구되어지고 있는 온톨로지의 관계표현으로 구성하여 표현한다. 자율 에이전트의 행위나 다양한 상황의 표현을 위해 다수의 스키마를 이용하여 지식구조를 구성하게 되지만 중복적인 스키마의 구성이 많아지게 되어 정보의 갱신이나 삽입 시에 문제를 야기 시키게 된다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 중복적인 스키마들의 구성을 최소화시키고 스키마들의 체계적인 관리를 위한 스키마 통합의 방법들을 제시하고자 한다.

According as IT environment changes from client/server system to the open system based on web service technologies, the exchange of data and services between independent applications and service servers in web environment is observed Recently. In this points, it is necessary that Geographic Information Systems, Spatial Imagery Information Systems, Intelligent Transportation Systems, and Global Navigation Satellite Systems based on the location and geometry information are inter-related each other. But, the inter-relation of these systems is very difficult because of the closed system architecture, different information format, and the absence of interoperability technologies. In this Paper, we describe 4S integration system based web service technologies that accept the international standard as WFS, WCS, WRS of OGC (OpenGIS Consortium) and UDDI, SOAP, WSDL of W3C. In detail, we study the system architecture design and implementation of traffic information service, routing service, and tracing service. These services are consisting of the data schema based on XML and GML, various functions of each layered service, each server platform, and web server. Specially, we represent that GML is being applied to a wide range of location-based services, telematics, and intelligent transportation

It gradually becomes important to study on how to efficiently integrate and manage plant lifecycle data such as 2D schematic and 3D solid data, logical configuration data, and equipment specifications data. From this point of view, converting plant design data from various systems into neutral data independent from any commercial systems is one of important technologies for the operation and management of plants which usually have a very long period of life. In order to achieve this goal, a neutral model for efficient integration and management of plant data was defined. After schema mapping between one of specification-driven plant design systems and the neutral model was performed, a plant data translator is also implemented according to the mapping result. Finally, by experiments with nuclear power plant design, the feasibility of the translator was demonstrated.

이기종 DB에 분산 저장되어 있는 데이터를 통합하여 사용자가 단일한 환경 내에서 각종 데이터를 접근, 관리할 수 있는 기술로써 멀티데이터베이TM 시스템(Multidatabase System:MDBS)이 연구되어 왔다. 그러나, 기존의 MDBS 는 사용하는 통합 모델에 따라 데이터 정의 언어나 데이터 처리 언어를 새로 정의하여 사용하였기 때문에, 지역 데이터베이스 시스템의 사용자는 새로운 데이터 모델과 데이터베이스 언어를 습득해야 하는 문제가 발생한다. 그러므로, 이를 해결하기 위해 현재 표준으로 진행되고 SQL3를 기반으로 한 MDBS의 개발이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 SQL3를 확장한 멀티 데이터베이스 질의 언어(Multidatabase Query Language: MQL)를 제시하고 MQL을 이용한 3단계 스키마 통합 방안을 제안하고자 한다.

Useful data being distributed over several systems, we have a problem in accessing and utilizing them. Recognizing this problem, researchers have proposed two concepts as solutions to the problem, multidatabase and data warehouse. The one provides a virtual view over the distributed data, and the latter is a materialized view of it. Recently, more attention has been paid to the latter, which is a single of distributed database, collected along a time dimension. So, the major issues in building a data warehouse are 1) how to define a global schema for the data warehouse, 2) how to capture changes from local databases, and 3) how to represent time-varying values of data item. This paper presents an integrated approach to these issues, borrowing the research results from such areas as multidatabase, active databases and temporal databases.

Standardization for product data has not been well established and many different presentation methods are being used in CAD/CAM industry. In order to accomplish system integration or concurrent engineering in such situation, product data exchanges among heterogeneous system are needed. This paper presents a data exchange system between IGES and STEP (AP 202 and 203). The schemata of those standard data formats are represented in EXPRESS and the relationship between corresponding entities are written in EXPRESS-X. Relationships among Non-geometric entities (such as color and annotations) as well as geometric entities are examined. Because the system implemented in this research uses high-level schema language and mappign language, it can be easily extended to support new data formats.

The purpose of this study is to help the students in middle school improve their English listening comprehension by presenting effective teaching and learning techniques using animation. A good animation provides a self-contained world with language expressed in a virtual context. A few animation such as "Mulan", "The Emperor's New Clothes", and "Gulliver's Travel" are presented. The materials are primarily for English listening comprehension, enhance awareness of American culture and life-styles, and to encourage students' active role in learning English. It is suggested that their use with content-based instruction, where animation provides relevant schema background, makes language relevant and comprehensible. Practical aspects of classroom instruction are discussed, focusing on the adaption of pre-viewing, while-viewing, and post-viewing activities to the selected animation. It is concluded that careful animation selection, purposeful lesson planning, and the integration of pre-viewing, while-viewing, and post-viewing activities into the content-based lesson encourage natural language skills, especially the listening comprehension and students' interest in English.

Recently with the development of IT technology, the medical technology have been developed in various ways. Among them, WBAN can check the state of the patient in real time. However, the data generated by these techniques have a problem that they have heterogeneous properties depending on the type of sensors and devices. In this paper, we proposed a method using meta repository as a way to provide the sensing data of WBAN for the health care system by integrating along the HL7 standard item.
