고속 필름 인쇄 장치용 미세 라인 오류 검출 시스템의 개발 (Development of Narrow Line-Error Inspection System for High-Speed Film Printing Machines)

  • This paper proposes a printing quality inspection system of film-type envelopment. Since the printing system is running at very high-speed (140m/min.) and the line error has very narrow width, we have to choose one-dimensional high-speed and high-resolution line scan camera. The vibration of the printing machine and the illumination environment make the inspection problem more harder. To obtain reliable inspection results, many software image processing techniques are applied and many parameters are tuned. The performance of the proposed system is proved by many simulations and long time real-plant experiments.

전기 수력학 인쇄공정을 이용한 실리콘 태양전지 전극용 Ni 잉크 제조 및 인쇄 공정 연구 (Electrohydrodynamic Continuous Jet Printing of Ni Ink for Crystalline Silicon Solar Cells)

  • Ni ink for electrohydrodynamic (EHD) continuous jet printing has been developed by using Ni nanoparticles mixed with conhesiveness provider. EHD continuous jet printing was used in order to realize $20{\mu}m$ pattern width. Ink stability was investigated by using Turbi-scan which monitors agglomeration and precipitation of nanoparticles in the ink for three days. The Turbi-scan results showed that the formulated Ni ink had been stable for 3 days without any indication of precipitation across the entire ink. Antireflection coating (ARC) layer in crystalline solar cell wafers was removed by laser ablation technique leading to the formation of 84 grooves where the Ni ink was printed by EHD continuous jet printing. The printability and microstructure of EHD-jet-printed Ni lines were investigated by using optical and electron microscopes. 84 Ni lines with the width less than $20{\mu}m$ were successfully printed by one-time printing without any misalignment and fill the laser-ablated ARC grooves.

비정질 $MnO_2$ 전극의 전극두께에 따른 고출력 특성 변화 (High Power Characteristics of Amorphous $MnO_2$ Electrode by Variation of Electrode Thickness)

  • 고출력 전기화학 캐패시터를 위한 전극제조공정으로 screen printing과 doctor blade법이 연구되었다. Screen printing에 의해서 제작된 비정질 $MnO_2$전극으로 측정된 CV (cyclic voltammogram)는 이상적인 캐패시터에 가까운 특성을 보여주었다. 50mV/s의 scan rate에서의 CV로부터 계산된 비용량은 $140{\mu}m,\;24{\mu}m,\; 3{\mu}m$의 전극두께에 대해서 각각 5.8F/g과, 81.8F/g, 172.0F/g의 값을 나타내었다. Screen printing전극에서의 $MnO_2$활물질의 이용율을 $100\%$로 하였을 때, paste와 doctor blade법의 이용율은 각각 $3.4\%$$47.6\%$이었다. Screen printing은 고출력 응용을 위한 얇은 전극의 코팅 방법으로 우수한 특성을 보였다.

선택적 레이저 용융공정으로 제조된 Al-Si-Mg 합금의 열처리에 따른 미세조직 및 특성평가 (Microstructures and Characterization of Al-Si-Mg Alloy Processed by Selective Laser Melting with Post-Heat-treatment)

  • In this study, Al-Si-Mg alloys are additively manufactured using a selective laser melting (SLM) process from AlSi10Mg powders prepared from a gas-atomization process. The processing parameters such as laser scan speed and laser power are investigated for 3D printing of Al-Si-Mg alloys. The laser scan speeds vary from 100 to 2000 mm/s at the laser power of 180 and 270 W, respectively, to achieve optimized densification of the Al-Si-Mg alloy. It is observed that the relative density of the Al-Si-Mg alloy reaches a peak value of 99% at 1600 mm/s for 180 W and at 2000 mm/s for 270W. The surface morphologies of the both Al-Si-Mg alloy samples at these conditions show significantly reduced porosities compared to those of other samples. The increase in hardness of as-built Al-Si-Mg alloy with increasing scan speed and laser power is analyzed due to high relative density. Furthermore, it was found that cooling conditions after the heat-treatment for homogenization results in the change of dispersion status of Si phases in the Al-Si matrix but also affects tensile behaviors of Al-Si-Mg alloys. These results indicate that combination between SLM processing parameters and post-heat treatment should be considered a key factor to achieve optimized Al-Si alloy performance.

3D 프린팅 필라멘트 재료에 따른 유압액츄에이터 커브의 치수 특성 (Dimensional Characteristics of Hydraulic Actuator Curve based on 3D Printing Filament Materials)

  • In this paper, the 3D shape of a hydraulic actuator cover was 3D printed by applying two materials, namely PLA and ABS. Subsequently, the printed shape was scanned to analyze the material properties, dimensional change characteristics, dimensions, and scan shape as a real model. To compare and analyze material-specific 3D printing dimensions, a non-contact mobile laser scanner was used to scan a portion of the printed hydraulic actuator cover and the final alignment shape of the 3D printed part was studied on the basis of the design model.

Printed flexible OTFT backplane for electrophoretic displays

  • Printing technologies were applied to fabricate a flexible organic thin-film transistor (OTFT) backplane for electrophoretic displays (EPDs). Various printing processes were adopted to maximize the figures of each layer of OTFT: screen printing combined with reverse offset printing for the gate electrodes and scan bus lines with Ag ink, inkjet for the source/drain electrodes with glycerol-doped Poly (3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene): Poly (styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS), inkjet for the semiconductor layer with Triisopropylsilylethynyl (TIPS)-pentacene, and screen printing for the pixel electrodes with Ag paste. A mobility of $0.44cm^2/V$ s was obtained, with an average standard deviation of 20%, from the 36 OTFTs taken from different backplane locations, which indicates high uniformity. An EPD laminated on an OTFT backplane with $190{\times}152$ pixels on an 8-in panel was successfully operated by displaying some patterns.

3D 핸디형 스캐너와 3D 프린팅 기술 기반 드레이핑용 커스텀 메이드 드레스폼 개발 (Development of a Custom-Made Dress Form for Draping Based on 3D Handheld Scanners and 3D Printing Technology)

  • This study aimed to develop a a custom-made dress form for draping using a live model's 3D body scan obtained from an entry-level 3D handheld scanners, 3D modeling software and 3D printing technology. A female subject was recruited whose body size fell under the normal (N) body shape criteria suggested by KS K 0051. First, the handheld scanner reduced the length of the legs in scanning, but most of the scanning operations between the neck and crotch levels were conducted accurately. Therefore, this study was designed to develop a torso dress form. The full body 3D scan was edited into a torso shape using ZBrush® software. Using Rhinoceros® and Materialise's Magics software, a 3D body scan was modeled so that the user could fit two types of mannequin stands (one with a neck fixation from above and one with an insert from below) to the dress form. The body scan was divided into 9 pieces to fit the printable size of the Stratasys 3D printer Fortus 250mc, and the cross-sectional distance from the center to the periphery was downsized by 2 mm. After outputting the dress form scan file with a 3D printer, the dress form was manufactured by the first covering it with a 4 oz nonwoven pad and the second covering with a single jersey material.

스크린 인쇄와 리버스 오프셋 인쇄를 혼합한 대면적 미세 전극용 인쇄공정 (A Printing Process Combining Screen Printing with Reverse Off-set for a Fine Patterning of Electrodes on Large Area Substrate)

  • In this paper a printing process for patterning electrodes on large area substrate was developed by combining screen printing with reverse off-set printing. Ag ink was uniformly coated by screen printing. And then etching resist (ER) was patterned in the Ag film by reverse off-set printing, and then the non-desired Ag film was etched off by etchant. Finally, the ER was stripped-off to obtain the final Ag patterns. We extracted the suitable conditions of reverse Using the process we successfully fabricated gate electrodes and scan bus lines of OTFT-backplane used for e-paper, in which the diagonal size was 6 inch, the resolution $320{\times}240$, the minimum line width 30 um, and sheet resistance 1 ${\Omega}/{\Box}$.

3D 프린터를 이용한 여성용 인대 제작 연구 (A study of making a dress form for women using a 3D printer)

  • In the Korean fashion industry, 3D printing systems are considered as new technology and a new opportunity. With 3D printers, consumers can be manufacturers and individuals can develop businesses with little upfront capital. In this study, a dress form for the typical Korean women's body shape was developed using 3D technology (3D scanning, 3D modeling, and 3D printing). Ten women with apparel sizes 85-91-160 were selected from 3D body-scan data collected by SizeKorea of 201 women aged 25 to 34 (2010). First, 15 horizontal cross-sections were collected from the 3D scan data of the 10 subjects. Then, inside lines of those cross-sections were drawn at 15-degree intervals, and the lengths were measured. The average of the inside lines was connected to the internal spline curve, and the curves were used as the average cross-sections. The average torso body and the dress form of Korean women were developed into a 3D solid model using a 3D CAD program (Solidworks 2012). An output mockup was printed by the FDM type's 3D printing system (Bonbot 1200, Bonbot 3-H4) using PLA material. The dimensions comparing the 3D solid modeling to the 3D printed mockup of the dress form were measured, and minor differences were between 0.00cm and 0.40cm. In the future, 3D printing systems are expected to be in use for various personalized dress forms.

MMX기술을 이용한 식품 포장용 투명필름의 실시간 검사시스템 개발 (Development of Real-Time Inspection System for Foods Packaging Film using MMX Technology)

  • Film printing companies have many problems during a printing process. Most of all, even an insect or dirt stick to the transparent film may cause severe errors until the end of printing job, which means big economic damage to the company. To prevent some insect-dots or dirt-dots, we have to Inspect the total area of film. However, it is very difficult to inspect the film in real-time due to the high-speed of printing that usually more than 150 m/min. A hardware based approach, for example DSP-based approach can be the one of solution candidates, but the total cost and the complexity increases the very high-level. In this paper, we suggest a software based approach, using MMX technology, to inspect the film in real-time. By Many real-plant experiments, we can see the suggest approach is applicable for the inspection of food packaging film in real-time.
