In this paper, we propose an image interpolator for low computational complexity. The proposed image interpolator supports the image scaling using a modified cubic convolution interpolation between the input and output resolutions for a full screen display. In order to reduce the computational complexity, we use the difference in value of the adjacent pixels for selecting interpolation methods and linear function of the cubic convolution. The proposed image interpolator is compared with the conventional one for the computational complexity and image quality. The proposed image interpolator has been designed and verified by Verilog HDL(Hardware Description Language). It has been synthesized using the Xilinx VirtexE FPGA, and implemented using an FPGA-based prototype board.

Wrinkle and fracture are two major defects frequently found in the sheet metal forming process. In this process there are more than one design attributes to optimize and several uncontrollable factors which cannot be ignored in determining the optimal values of design variables. Therefore, attempts to reduce defects through a traditional optimization technique are often led to failures. In this research, a new design method for reducing the wrinkle and fracture under uncontrollable factors is presented by using decision-making theory. To avoid the psychological difficulties in determining the scaling constants of the multi-attribute utility function by using the ordinary lottery questions, a pair-wise comparison procedure is adapted to avoid this problem. The effectiveness of the proposed method is illustrated through a robust design of sheet metal forming process of a side member of an automotive body.
As the conventional silicon metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET) approaches its scaling limits, quantum mechanical effects are expected to become more and more important. Accurate quantum transport simulators are required to explore the essential device physics as a design aid. However, because of the complexity of the analysis, it has been necessary to simulate the quantum mechanical model with high speed and accuracy. In this paper, the modeling of double gate MOSFET based on an adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) is presented. The ANFIS model reduces the computational time while keeping the accuracy of physics-based models, like non-equilibrium Green's function formalism. Finally, we import the ANFIS model into the circuit simulator software as a subcircuit. The results show that the compact model based on ANFIS is an efficient tool for the simulation of nanoscale circuits.

The Fourier series uses a vibrating wave that possesses an amplitude that is like the one of the sine curve. Therefore, the functions used in the Fourier series do not change due to the value of the frequency and that set a limit to express irregular signals with rapid oscillations or with discontinuities in localized regions. However, the wavelet series analysis(WSA) method supplements these limits of the Fourier series by a linear combination of a suitable number of wavelets. By using the wavelet that is focused on time, it is able to give changes to the range in the cycle. Also, this enables to express a signal more efficiently that has singular configuration and that is flowing. The main objective of this study is to propose a scheme called wavelet series analysis for the application of wavelet theory to one-dimensional problems represented by the second-order elliptic equation and to evaluate theperformance of proposed scheme comparing with the finite element analysis. After a through evaluation of different types of wavelets, the HAT wavelet system is chosen as a wavelet function as well as a scaling function. It can be stated that the WSA method is as efficient as the FEA method in the case of axial bars with distributed loads, but the WSA method is more accurate than the FEA method at the singular points and its computation time is less.

We proposed a new High-speed CMOS Level Up/Down Shifter circuits that can be used with Dynamic Voltage and Frequency Scaling(DVFS) algorithm, for low power system in the SoC(System-on-Chip). This circuit used to interface between the other voltage levels in each CMOS circuit boundary, or between multiple core voltage levels in a system bus. Proposed circuit have advantage that decrease speed attenuation and duty ratio distortion problems for interface. The level up/down shifter of the proposed circuit designed that operated from multi core voltages$(0.6\sim1.6V)$ to used voltage level for each IP at the 500MHz input frequency The proposed circuit supports level up shifting from the input voltage levels, that are standard I/O voltages 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V, to multiple core voltage levels in between of $0.6V\sim1.6V$, that are used internally in the system. And level down shifter reverse operated at 1Ghz input frequency for same condition. Simulations results are shown to verify the proposed function by Hspice simulation, with $0.6V\sim1.6V$ CMOS Process, $0.13{\mu}m$ IBM CMOS Process and $0.65{\mu}m$ CMOS model parameters. Moreover, it is researched delay time, power dissipation and duty ration distortion of the output voltage witch is proportional to the operating frequency for the proposed circuit.
We proposed and stratified a selection standard model on Open Source Functional Board which could be found in Web. So we could grasp the weight about Performance Evaluation from the viewpoints of planners, developers, and web disigner professional of views. We suggested applying diverse measurement types in case of item which could chart Evaluation Standards on chosen sample boards. In case of item which couldn't do that, we compared and analyzed it by using selective type of 9 point scaling method on professionalists in every sample board. As a result of weight on upper estimate section of evaluation model chart, the order of importance was convenience(0.334), performance(0.333), function(0.240) and design(0.093) respectively. It indicates that there is more weight on performance and convenience which are hard to be structurally modified than designs and functions that are directly shown to the users. Also, it was evident that opposite results came out when using 9-point scale survey and measurement with objective data such as function and performance. The reason is because the surveyed subject can have his or her own subjectivity and bias unlike objective data. However, objectivity of the administrator is also an important factor thus both two perspectives have to be all considered when selecting the bulletin board.

A design method of railway wheel profile with objective function of equivalent conicity considering wheel dimension constraint, two points contact problem between wheel and rail was proposed. New design method shows good results. New wheel profile generated from optimization process shows better dynamic performance compared with initial profile as the purpose of wheel profile design. And to verify the design method with testing the stability of new wheel profile, we conducted a critical speed test for new wheel profile using scale model applied scaling method of railway vehicle dynamics. The result of critical speed test show good agreement with that of numerical analysis. From the above results, it is seen that the design method with objective function of equivalent conicity is feasible and it could be applied to design new wheel profile efficiently.
For scaling of the gradient of misfit function, we develop a new pseudo-Hessian matrix constructed by combining amplitude field and pseudo-Hessian matrix. Since pseudo- Hessian matrix neglects the calculation of the zero-lag auto-correlation of impulse responses in the approximate Hessian matrix, the pseudo-Hessian matrix has a limitation to scale the gradient of misfit function compared to the approximate Hessian matrix. To validate the new pseudo- Hessian matrix, we perform frequency-domain elastic full waveform inversion using this Hessian matrix. By synthetic experiments, we show that the new pseudo-Hessian matrix can give better convergence to the true model than the old one does. Furthermore, since the amplitude fields are intrinsically obtained in forward modeling procedure, we do not have to pay any extra cost to compute the new pseudo-Hessian. We think that the new pseudo-Hessian matrix can be used as an alternative of the approximate Hessian matrix of the Gauss-Newton method.

One of the methods to simplify the design process for a fuzzy logic controller (FLC) is to reduce the number of variables representing the rule antecedent. This in turn decreases the number of control rules, membership functions, and scaling factors. For this purpose, we designed a single-input FLC that uses a sole fuzzy input variable. However, it is still deficient in the capability of adapting some varying operating conditions although it provides a simple method for the design of FLC's. We here design two simple-structured adaptive fuzzy logic controllers (SAFLC's) using the concept of the single-input FLC. Linguistic fuzzy control rules are directly incorporated into the controller by a fuzzy basis function. Thus some parameters of the membership functions characterizing the linguistic terms of the fuzzy control rules can be adjusted by an adaptive law. In our controllers, center values of fuzzy sets are directly adjusted by an adaptive law. Two SAFLC's are designed. One of them uses a Hurwitz error dynamics and the other a switching function of the sliding mode control (SMC). We also prove that 1) their closed-loop systems are globally stable in the sense that all signals involved are bounded and 2) their tracking errors converge to zero asymptotically. We perform computer simulations using a nonlinear plant.
In this paper, we propose an audio fingerprinting using robust hash based on the MCLT (Modulated Complex Lapped Transform) peak-pair. In existing methods, the robust audio fingerprinting is not generated if various distortions occurred; time-scaling, pith-shifting and equalization. To solve this problem, we used the spectrum of the MCLT, an adaptive thresholding method for detection of prominent peaks and the novel hash function in the audio fingerprinting. Experimental results show that the proposed method is highly robust in various distorted environments and achieves better identification rates compared to other methods.
