Helicopter Attitude Command Response Type Control System Design using SAS Actuators and Trim Actuators (안정성증강 작동기와 트림 작동기를 이용한 헬리콥터 자세명령반응타입 제어시스템 설계)

  • Attitude command response type required for enhanced handling qualities of helicopter can be implemented by mechanical automatic flight control system with SAS actuators which have limited authorities. However, the early saturation of SAS actuator hinders the helicopter from following the attitude command for large stick command. Auto-trim controller can delay SAS actuator's saturation by utilizing trim actuators and allows the attitude command response type for larger stick command. This paper describes the control law for limited authority system of helicopter with auto-trim. Limited authority system is applied to BO-105 linear dynamic model and simulation is performed along with handling quality analysis.

  • An obstacle is an element for power to small and slim the existing portable communication set. Developed Inductor for Chip-type electric power in needs to solve this. Stack applied Process, and used gap of a magnetic path, and made a height of an element to 1.0T or below, and this development commodity did product for saturation prevention to materials of silver. Saturation current characteristic of Chip-type inductor was low compare with winding-type inductors, but bulk against performance were had superior excellence. Chip-type inductor can raise performance per unit volume compared with the existing inductors at these papers. Therefore, acceleration can get growth of small and slim of a mobile product done, and expect.

  • In this paper, the wireless transmission module is developed to transmit oxygen saturation(SpO2) signal, acquired from bio-signal measuring module, to PC. This wireless transmission module is designed with closed type protocol instead of open type protocol such as a zigbee or a bluetooth, considering of the security of personal medical informations. The display software is also developed to display transmitted SpO2 signals by various type data and graph without information loss for a emergency transfer.

  • In this paper, we compared the characteristic of fault current liminting in the magnetic shielding type High-Tc superconducting fault current limiter(FCL) using both Piecewise linear magnetization curve and real magnetization one of iron core. From this paper, the characteristics of fault current limiting in both cases showed many differences. The latter has higher fault current than the former, because the saturation of iron core was reflected and more accumulated during fault. It is expected that the more exact characteristic of magnetic shielding type High-Tc superconducting FCL was obtained in the case of design and modeling.

Comparative Study of Fluidized Bed-type and Assmann Psychrometer (유동층습도계와 아스만습도계의 비교 연구)

  • The present work proposed a newly developed fluidized bed-type psychrometer that could be applicable to the high temperature and contaminant gases. The psychrometer is a device that test gas passes through the water in a glass bottle as a bubbly flow to obtain the adiabatic saturation temperature. A fluidized bed-type psychrometer was made and its characteristics were compared with the Assmann Psychrometer. The characteristic time was in the order of a hundred seconds, and decreased for the decrease of the mass of water and the increase of the air flow rate. The air flow rate and the insulation of the glass bottle were definitely important in the accurate measurement of the wet bulb temperature. The error in wet bulb temperature became less than 5 percent of the difference of dry and wet bulb temperatures if the air velocity in the glass bottle was greater than 1.5m/s.

  • The previous limited authority system capable of implementing attitude command response type and translational command response type by operating SAS actuator has the problem of early saturation of SAS actuator since SAS actuator should compensate the mechanical linkage displacement caused by control sick movement. In this paper, a limited authority system where flight control computer receives the command from the control stick which is not connected to the mechanical linkage is described. In this system the compensation by the SAS actuator is not necessary and SAS actuator saturate later. SAS actuator saturation problem can be further relaxed by using the trim actuator. This new limited authority system is applied to BO-105 model, simulation is performed for the doublet input and pirouette maneuver is also simulated and analyzed.

  • Generally, instrument transformer of the core type have been used for measuring current. Because instrument transformer has defects, electronic instrument was appeasred. This paper is introduced a basic concept and thoery of electronic instrument and described the the simulation of core type CT and no saturation CT. The evaluation of CT models implemented using EMTP(Electro Magnetic Transients Program) was carried out. The result of comparison both core type CT and no saturation CT are presented.

Discrimination Method of Internal and External Fault of Current Differential Relay using Instantaneous Value of Current in Case of Fault with One end CT Saturation (편단 CT 포화 고장 발생시 양단 전류 순시치를 이용한 전류차동계전기의 내·외부 고장위치 판별방안)

  • This paper presents a simple and practical method which enables to prevent malfunction of protection relay due to differential current caused by one end CT saturation in case of external fault. This method uses difference of magnitude(instantaneous value) between the both end current just before the occurrence of differential current without a separate method to CT staturation detection. One end CT saturation is simulated by current transformer model using type-96 component and the presented method is verified by using EMTP MODELS with respect to internal and external fault with one end CT staturation. The presented method distinguished rightly bewteen external and internal fault with one end CT saturation. This information can be used to prevent malfunction of current differential protection relay in case of external fault. And this method is not affected by sampling rate and has no calculation burden, so it will be applicable to differential current protection relay with ease.

  • The tubes in heat exchanger are typically made from copper alloy, stainless steel, carbon steel, titanium alloy material. type-439 ferritic stainless steel is ferromagnetic material, and furnish higher heat transfer rates than austenitic stainless steels and higher resistance to corrosion-induced flaws. Ferritic stainless steel can typically be found in low-pressure(LP) feedwater heaters and moisture separator reheaters(MSRs). LP feedwater heaters generally utilize thin wall type-439 stainless steel tubing, whereas MSRs typically employ a heavier wall tubing with integral fins. Service-induced damage can occur on the OD(outside diameter) surface of type-439 ferritic stainless steel tubing which is employed for MSRs tubing, and the most typical damage mechanism is vibration-induced tube-to-TSP(tube support plate) wear and fatigue cracking. The wear has been reported that occurs mainly on the OD surface. Accordingly, in this study, we have evaluated the flaw sizing capability of magnetic saturation eddy current technique using magnetic saturation probe and flawed specimen.

Effects of Open or Closed Suctioning on Lung Dynamics and Hypoxemia in Mechanically Ventilated Patients (기관 내 흡인 유형이 인공호흡기 대상자의 폐기능과 저산소혈증에 미치는 효과)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to compare effects of open and closed suctioning methods on lung dynamics (dynamic compliance, tidal volume, and airway resistance) and hypoxemia (oxygen saturation and heart rate) in mechanically ventilated patients. Methods: This study was a cross-over repeated design. Participants were 21 adult patients being treated with endotracheal intubation using a pressure-controlled ventilator below Fraction of Inspired Oxygen ($FiO_2$) 60% and PEEP $8cmH_2O$. Data were collected at baseline and 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 10 minutes after suctioning. Data were analyzed using two-factor ANOVA with repeated measures on time and suctioning type. Results: Effects of the interaction between suction type and time were significant for oxygen saturation and heart rate but not significant for dynamic compliance, tidal volume, or airway resistance. Prior to performance of suctioning, tidal volume and oxygen saturation were significantly lower, but airway pressure and heart rate were significantly higher using the closed suctioning method as compared with the open suctioning method. Conclusion: For patients on ventilator therapy below $FiO_2$ 60% and PEEP $8cmH_2O$, open suctioning performed after delivery of 100% $FiO_2$ using a mechanical ventilator may not have as much negative impact on lung dynamics and hypoxemia as closed suctioning.
