  • Eosin-doped boric acid glass saturable absorber has a relatively low saturation intensity (700 mW/$\textrm{cm}^2$) and low power optical phase conjugation is achived by the degenerate four-wave mixing (DFWM) experiments. Polarization properties of optical phase conjugation by DFWM have been demonstrated in this materials using a cw argon ion laser at wavelength 488 nm. The dependence of the phase conjugated reflectivity on the intensity and wavelength of the pump beam is examined. The magnitude of the energy exchange by the nondegenerate two-wave mixing (NDTWM) is maximized by frequency difference between the two beams of $\varphi\simeq$ 1100 Hz.

  • A robust all-fiber nonlinear amplifying loop-mirror-based mode-locked femtosecond laser is demonstrated. Power-dependent nonlinear phase shift in a Sagnac loop enables stable and power-efficient mode-locking working as an artificial saturable absorber. The pump power is adjusted to achieve the lowest intensity noise for stable long-term operation. The minimum pump power for mode-locking is 180 mW, and the optimal pump power is 300 mW. The lowest integrated root-mean-square relative intensity noise of a free-running mode-locked laser is 0.009% [integration bandwidth: 1 Hz-10 MHz]. The long-term repetition-rate instability of a free-running mode-locked laser is 10-7 over 1,000 s averaging time. The repetition-rate phase noise scaled at 10-GHz carrier is -122 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz Fourier frequency. The demonstrated method can be applied as a seed source in high-precision real-time mid-infrared molecular spectroscopy.

  • The Q-switching the shutter or the different optical science element puts in within the laser light resonator and the storehouse departs from the within the resonator it loses the mortar and the reversal distribution which when is sufficient creates from within the active medium, opens the shutter instantaneously and it is to do to be made to emit with the light where the energy which is accumulated within the resonator is strong very. Like this Q-switching of laser resonator--It decreases factor increasing suddenly to make. To method of Laser Q-switching mechanical switching methods, electro-optic switching methods and switching by saturable absorber methods, acousto-optic switching method etc. 4 kind are being used on a large scale. In these people the conversion which is electric in compliance with the effect which is electrooptics is widely being used the Q-switching pulse of short pulse width because being it will be able to create. Consequently, Pockel cell where it has the quality of electrooptics effect) the Q-it is become known that it is suitable it uses with switch. From the research which it sees FET and one-chip microprocessor where it is a switching element and pulse transfomer to plan and produce pockel cell Q-switch driving gears, pulse style Nd: It applied in YAG Laser system and it investigated and researched the operating characteristic of the Q-switch. Also, the Q-switch leads and Nd where it is output: YAG with forecast in compliance with a theoretical calculation it comes to buy laser beam side politics it compared and laser beam qualities which had become Q-switching it analyzed.

  • In a recent years, a number of approaches have been studied, including passive, active, and hybrid mode-locking of semi-conductor lasers for short pulse generation and research has been devoted to achieve low timing-jitter operation since the timing jitter is unfavorable for system applications. Among the methods of mode locking, passive mode locking does not need external rf drives, and therefore the operation and fabrication procedures are simplified. In spite of these attractive advantages of passive mode-locked laser, it has critical drawbacks such as large timing jitter and the difficulty in synchronization with external circuits. Their inherent large timing jitter value was shown to be suppressed to certain levels by means of hybrid mode-locking technique$^{(1)}$ , where the saturable absorber section was modulated by an external signal with the cavity round trip frequency. Furthermore, the subharmonic mode-locking (SHML) technique alleviates the restrictions of high speed driving electronics. It has been demonstrated experimentally$^{(1)}$ that the hybrid subharmonic mode-locking technique has lead to significant reduction of the timing jitter. (omitted)

  • We report on a diode-laser-pumped mode-locked Yb:KGW laser system, which delivers ultrashort pulses down to 89 fs at a repetition rate of 63 MHz, with an average power of up to 5.6 W. A fiber-coupled diode laser at 981 nm, operated with a compact driver, is used to optically pump the gain crystal via an off-axis parabolic mirror. A semiconductor saturable-absorber mirror is used to initiate the pulsed operation. Laser characteristics such as the pulse duration, spectrum bandwidth, and output power are investigated by varying the intracavity dispersions via changing the number of bounces between negative-dispersive mirrors within the cavity. Short pulses with a duration of 89 fs, a center wavelength of 1,027 nm, and 3.6 W of output power are produced at a group-velocity dispersion (GVD) of -3,300 fs2. As the negative GVD increases, the pulse duration lengthens but the output power at the single-pulse condition can be enhanced, reaching 5.6 W at a GVD of -6,600 fs2. Because of pulse broadening at high negative GVDs, the highest peak intensity is achievable at a moderate GVD with our system.

  • We demonstrate a single-frequency wavelength tunable erbium-doped fiber (EDF) ring laser. We used an unpumped-EDF as a saturable-absorber in order to obtain a stable single-frequency with a narrow-linewidth single-polarization mode in the ring cavity. The lasing wavelength was controlled by using bending-induced strain, such as tension and compression strain corresponding to the bending direction, applied to the fiber gratings. The fiber laser exhibited an output power of -1.85 dBm at a wavelength of 1540.72 nm for a pumping power of ~400 mW. An extinction ratio was measured to be more than 60 dB. The proposed tunable fiber laser maintains nearly the same output power while its lasing wavelength is controlled over in a wavelength range of 5 nm.

  • A multi-section DFB-LD shows optical bistability subject to externally injected light signal, then it has potential applications such as wavelength conversion and optical logic gates. In this paper, we have studied the optical bistability in multi-section DFB-LD using split-step time-domain model. It is confirmed that the multi-section DFB-LD, which is excited inhomogeneously, shows bistability. The optical bistable characteristics are investigated when input light is injected into a absorptive region. Simulation results show that multi-section DFB-LD works as a flip-flop depending on the set-reset optical pulse which has a few ns in switching time and a few pj in switching energy, so that it can act as a optical logic device. Besides, if we change the carrier lifetime and the differential gain coefficient, it is expected that the response time of optical output signal can be reduced.

  • A Cr:YAG crystal was used as a saturable absorber for passive Q-switching of a Nd:$YVO_4$ laser which was pumped by a 1-W continuous wave laser diode. The first surface of the Cr:YAG was high-reflection coated for the pump wavelength. The high-reflection coating improved the absorption efficiency of the pump beam in the Nd:$YVO_4$ through double pass absorption. It also prevented pump beam induced partial bleaching of the Cr:YAG. The peak-to-peak pulse fluctuation of passively Q-switched laser output was approximately 4 %. The minimum pulse-width was measured to be 7.11 ns. Also, the average pulse repetition rate was 9 kHz and the maximum output power was 16.27 mW.
