Evaluative Criteria and Modification of Girls' School Uniforms - Focused on the Middle and High School Students in Incheon - (여자 중·고등학생의 교복평가와 교복변형 - 인천광역시를 중심으로 -)

  • Girls' school uniform evaluative criteria and their uniform modification were investigated. The data were collected by questionnaire from 579 middle and high school girls living in Incheon during the fall of 2003. The uniform evaluative criteria consisted of five dimensions: aesthetics, comfort, economy, management, and status concealment factor. The uniform evaluative criteria were used to cluster the students into five groups: economic, practical, aesthetic, negative, and active. The uniform modifications were investigated in regard to sleeve length, sleeve width, breast width, jacket length, skirt length, hip width, and waist width. The aesthetic and the active groups intended to modify uniforms less in sleeve length and skirt length than the other three groups. There were significant differences in the uniform modifications among demographics: school years, height, weight, spending money, satisfaction/dissatisfaction with spending money, and clothing expenditures.

  • This study is to suggest the proper standards of the pediatric facilities. We need to have the medical treatment standard focusing to the architectural concept because the living and medical treatment level and the demand of citizen is increasing. The way of research is mainly referring to USA's hospitals and the patients. This study is for the psychological stability of child. We found the form decisive elements and the basic form characteristic with analysing cases. This elements are emerging to the sociality, privacy, control, recognition and territoriality. We have to improve the satisfaction of the patient through this element. In the future, the role of the improved medical environment will have to be emphasized.

Family Life Issues of middle Aged Apartment-Residents in Seoul : Focused on Economic Life (서울시 아파트 거주 중년기 가정의 생활실태와 문제(II) : 경제생활을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this research was to investigate the economic status and problems of the middle aged apartment-residents in Seoul as a part of collaborative study on family issues of them. The sampling households were divided into Kangnam and Kangbuk area according to their residential location and upper-middle and lower-middle groups according the size of the apartment unit. The analysis of this research was specially focused on the latter division. The data were collected from 307 fulltime housewives with at least one child in a middle or high school. This data were gathered from the structured questionnaire. The major findings of this research were as follows: 1. The significant differences between upper-middle and lower-middle groups were showed in such areas as household income, monthly living expenses, household assets and savings. 2. The most serious economic problem was the private education expenses in both groups. 3. The economic satisfaction of the group in the Kangbuk area was a little higher than the group in Kangnam area.

Communications and Family Cohesion & Adaptability Between Mother and Adolescent (어머니와 청소년자녀가 지각하는 의사소통유형과 가족 응집성 및 적응성)

  • The purposes of this study were to find out general trends of mother-adolescent communication patterns and to analyze communication variables which influence on family cohesion and adaptability. The subjects were 386 high school students and their mothers living in Kwang-ju. PACI and FACESIII were used to measure mother-adolescent communication patterns and family cohesion and adaptability. The results are as follows : Mothers highly perceived open communication pattern with adolescents, but adolescents perceived close communication more. Communication patterns, family cohesion and adaptability showed significant differences in according to communication variables as communication time and satisfaction. Family cohesion and adaptability were significantly different in according to communication patterns. Especially, open communication pattern between mothers and adolescents was the most important in order to increase family cohesion and adaptability.

  • The purpose of this study suggests the emotion of residents as indexes in Korean housing environment for providing a fundamental guideline for precise dwelling social science and indicating the view for understanding of residents in korean housing culture in korea. So this paper explores the role of residents emotion indexes in housing environment and community. For this study, survey and depth-interview methods were used for data collection. The subjects were 514 housewives living in apartments. The statistical methods for data analysis were frequency, mean, multiple linear regression and logistic regression analysis using the SPSS 18.0 program The major findings are as follows: 1)Pride of neighborhood, pride of apartment complex and sense of superiority were important factors for residental satisfaction. 2)Conspicuous image of neighbors and active contact with neighbors were import factors for their neighborship in the apartment complex. The results develop the housing environment evaluation indexes in community through the contextual understanding of space emotion society.

  • This study aims to estimate the educational environment associated with various learning activities and to compare the differences of each characteristics appeared on the interviews and questions of teachers performing open education. The results were shown to the 5 groups differed from each other by the awareness analysis on their educational environment. According to the analyzed results, firstly, team teaching. applied living factor, unit learning factor, managemental factor, general public factor and assisting managemental factor were influential successively on the degree of satisfaction of teachers to the educational environment in open education of elementary schools. Secondly, to compare the relative differences between the groups, GLM was done. Most factors were significant only in the group of attached school and showed a partial significance in the grade in charge, gender and age.

  • This study is focused on Resider's Preference of Residential Space to improve Residence Unit Plan. Three Rental Housing Complexes in Jeju which supplied by Korea National Housing Corporation(KNHC) were selected for more detailed Resider's Preference research, which were constructed within 5years. Questionnaire of Total 360 sheets were distributed for each Rental Housing Complexes and total 299 sheets were returned. The results of research are as the followings. Generally satisfaction of environment and living area of home is not high. And also it seem that many residers want to live in housing of average 25.87 pyeong in housing scale. In view and direction of housing Especially, many residers tend to select housing that view is better than direction. With based on like this results, it is proposed housing plan's develop and political supports reflected Jeju's culture condition, life style, climate and so on.

Voluntary Activity of the Elderly in Cheongju (청주시 노인의 자원봉사활동 실태)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate voluntary activities of the elderly. Two hundred and eight older Cheongju residents were selected, and a questionnaire was used to collect data. The results are as follows: The number of participants in voluntary activities was relatively small. The main reasons for negative attitudes toward voluntary activities were significantly different according to sex, educational level, marital status, health status, economic level, religion, and life satisfaction. By using a cluster analysis, the elderly could be divided into four groups. Among them, a group with positive attitudes participating in volunteer activities was more likely to include males or those educated, healthy, and affluent. Based on the results of this study, it is revealed that participating in volunteer activities provides problem solutions and self development for elderly people.

  • The purpose of the study was to examine the socio-psychological factors of outdoor spaces in apartment complex. The data for the empirical analysis were collected from 412 households living in Haeundae New Town, Busan, and analyzed using descriptive statistics, factor analysis, and one-way analysis of variance and Duncan's multiple range test. The socio-psychological factors abstracted were territoriality, privacy, safety, sociality, accessibility, and identity. It was found that the households were generally positive to the overall socio-psycological factors in the current apartment complex. The significant explanatory variables for the responses to the socio-psychological factors were age of the wife, education of the wife, occupation of the wife, tenure type, monthly household income, length of residence, and overall satisfaction with outdoor spaces.

Satisfaction with Housing , Community , and Living Environment - Comparison among Urban , Rural , and Fishing Village Residents - (지역별 주거만족도와 생활환경 만족도 - 도시 , 농촌, 어촌 지역 주민을 중심으로 -)

  • 본 연구에서는 도시, 농촌, 어촌지역 주민들의 주거만족도와 지역사회 및 생활환경 만족도를 비교 측정하고자 하였다. 이 연구의 특성은 지역을 하나의 통제변인으로 분석에 포함시켜 제변인들의 영향력의 방향과 정도를 파악하고자 하였다는 점이다. 자료는 1993년 6월 부터 1994년 6월 동안 488명의 주부를 대상으로 수집하였으며, 대구에 거주하는 주부 254명과 경북권내의 영천과 청도 등의 농촌지역에 거주하는 주부 124명, 그리고 한산도 섬내에 거주하는 주부 110명을 대상으로 각 가정을 방문하여 면접법을 실행하였다. 회귀분석을 실행한 결과, 주거만족도에 영향을 미치는 변인은 주거비와 주거소유형태였으며, 거주하고 있는 지역사회와 생활환경에 대한 만족도가 증가할수록 주거만족도도 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 지역을 고려할 때, 도시거주자의 주거만족도가 농촌이나 어촌거주자의 주거만족도 보다 높은 반면 지역사회에 대한 만족도와 생활환경 만족도는 농촌거주자와 어촌거주자가 도시거주자보다 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 지역을 고려한 주거정책 관련 프로그램 개발을 위한 기초자료로 이용될 수 있으리라 사료된다.
