임상실습이 치위생 전공학생의 전문직 정체성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of clinical practice of dental hygiene students on professional identity)

  • Objectives : This study aimed to get the data necessary for dental hygiene students to perceive the need for establishing a professional identity as dental hygienists and developing a program which reinforce pride as a preliminary professional. Methods : The subjects were 695 dental hygiene students in Seoul, Gyeonggi and Chungcheong areas. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS program. Results : 1. The professional identity of dental hygiene students was 3.02 points, and the satisfaction with institutes for practice was 2.96 points. 2. The higher the satisfaction with the major was, the higher the identity was. Also, the identity was high when the frequency of clinical practice was 1 (3.11 points) and when they selected their major which corresponds with his aptitude (3.20 points). 3. The satisfaction with clinical practice was high when they didn't have any experience in dental clinic before clinical practice and when the satisfaction with the major was high. 4. Regarding the correlation between the professional identity and the satisfaction with clinical practice, the higher the satisfaction with clinical practice, the higher the professional identity. 5. The effective variables regarding the professional identity were satisfaction with a major, satisfaction with clinical practice, and frequency of clinical practice. Conclusions : The professional identity of students may be established through school education involving clinical practice. The identity of students may affect the occupational satisfaction, the identity and the work efficiency of dental hygienists in the future. Thus, it is deemed necessary to have a continued collaborative relationship between a school and an institute for clinical practice so that students may establish their correct views and identity.

응급구조(학)과 학생의 스트레스, 우울, 대처방법 및 임상실습 만족도 (Stress, depression, coping styles and satisfaction of clinical practice in EMT-paramedic students)

  • Purpose : The purpose of the study was to investigate the relationship between stress, depression, coping styles, and satisfaction of clinical practice in paramedic students. Methods : The study was conducted to 221 paramedic students who have experienced clinical training from March until June in 2012. Questionnaires consisted of level of stress, depression, coping styles, and satisfaction of clinical practice. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation coefficient. Results : The mean score of stress was $2.69({\pm}.69)$, depression was $19.09({\pm}9.41)$, coping styles was $3.17({\pm}.47)$, and satisfaction of clinical practice was $3.61({\pm}.58)$. Stress had a significant positive correlation with depression and a negative correlation with active coping and satisfaction of clinical practice. Depression had a significant positive correlation with passive coping and a negative correlation with satisfaction of clinical practice. Active coping had a significant positive correlation with passive coping and satisfaction of clinical practice. Conclusion : There was a positive effect on decreasing stress and depression in paramedic students, and encouraging positive coping when the students received counseling and instruction for clinical practice.

프리셉터쉽 적용이 간호학생외 비판적 사고성향, 입상수행능력 및 임상실습 만족도에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Preceptorship on Nursing Students' Critical Thinking Propensity, Clinical Competency and Satisfaction of Clinical Practice)

  • Purpose: This study was to compare effects of preceptorship on nursing students' critical thinking propensity, clinical competency, and the satisfaction of clinical practice. Method: The subjects were 80 by preceptorship group and 51 by conventional method group. The data were analyzed by SPSS 12.0 program. Results: The subject's critical thinking propensity, clinical competency and satisfaction of clinical practices between the preceptorship group and the conventional method group revealed statistically significant difference. Subject's critical thinking propensity revealed significant correlations, along with the clinical competεncy and the satisfaction for clinical practice. And the clinical competency revealed statistically significant correlations with the satisfaction for clinical practice. Conclusion: Findings of this study reveals that the nursing students who had clinical practice by preceptorship showed higher scores in the critical thinking propensity, clinical competency, and the satisfaction for clinical practice than the conventional method group. Consequently, we are quite consciously encouraged to reinforce the preceptorship for realization of an effective clinical practice education for nursing students.

간호대학생의 자기주도성, 간호활동경험 및 임상실습만족도간의 관계 (The Relationship of Self-Directedness, Clinical Practice Experiences and Clinical Practice Satisfaction)

  • 본 연구는 간호대학생의 자기주도성, 간호활동경험 및 임상실습만족도의 관계를 파악하기 위한 서술적 조사연구이다. 연구대상은 K시에 소재한 3년제 간호학과, 4년제 간호학과 재학생 223명을 대상으로 2013년 12월 5일부터 2013년 12월 20일까지 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 수집된 자료는 SPSS 20.0을 이용하여 서술적 통계, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient와 다중회귀분석으로 분석하였다. 간호대학생의 자기주도성과 간호활동경험(r=.243, p<.01), 자기주도성과 임상실습만족도(r=.495, p<.001), 간호활동경험과 임상실습만족도(r=.339, p<.001) 모두는 유의한 양의 상관관계를 나타냈고, 자기주도성과 간호활동경험은 임상실습만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 회귀모형의 28.7%를 설명하였다. 본 연구를 바탕으로 간호대학생의 자기주도성 함양 및 간호활동경험을 증진시키기 위한 임상실습프로그램 개발의 기초를 제공할 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.

치위생과 학생이 지각한 가족지지와 임상실습 만족도와의 관계연구 (A study on the relationship between perceived family support and satisfaction of clinical practice by dental hygiene students)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the degree of family support and the degree of satisfaction in clinical practice by dental hygiene students. Methods : In this study, convenience sampling was conducted in 272 dental hygiene students from 3 dental hygiene colleges in South Jeolla Province, from October 4 through 15, 2010. A survey was conducted by using structured questionnaires. The data was analyzed by t-test, a one way ANOVA, and Pearson correlation coefficient. Results : Family support according to general characteristics showed a significant difference by economic status(p<0.001), satisfaction of major(p<0.01), and interpersonal relationship(p<0.05). Satisfaction degree on clinical practice according to general characteristics showed a significant difference by satisfaction of major(p<0.05) and interpersonal relationship(p<0.05). The relationship between generally perceived family support correlated with the degree of satisfaction in clinical practice(r=.154, p<0.05). Conclusions : It was found that a higher degree of satisfaction in clinical practice depends on a higher degree of family support. Therefore it is required to program development to improve satisfaction level of clinical practice by family support.

일부 치위생과 학생의 교육 만족도와 임상실습 만족도의 관련성 (The relationship between the satisfaction levels of education and clinical practice in the dental hygiene students)

  • Objectives : The purpose of the study is to investigate the relationship between the satisfaction levels of education and clinical practice in the dental hygiene students and to provide the basic data for the improvement of satisfaction with major. Methods : A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 487 dental hygiene students in Busan, Gyeongnam, and Ulsan. Data were analyzed by SPSS 19.0 program. Results : Those who chose the dental hygiene by themselves tended to have higher satisfaction(p<0.05). Those who chose the major by teacher's advice tended to have higher satisfaction for the clinical practice(p<0.05). The satisfaction level between the education and clinical practice was equally proportional to each other. Multiple regression test showed that the influencing factors on satisfaction level included major satisfaction and lecture satisfaction(p<0.05). Conclusions : Satisfaction with the major influenced on the clinical practice performance. More systematic approach for the better curricula can bestow the students satisfaction with the major in the future.

일 간호대학생의 스트레스, 우울, 대처방법과 임상실습 만족도 (Stress, Depression, Coping Styles and Satisfaction of Clinical Practice in Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship among stress, depression, coping styles and satisfaction of clinical practice in nursing students. Method: Two hundred fifty-eight nursing college students in 1 city were selected by convenient sample. A questionnaire measured the level of stress, depression, coping styles and satisfaction of clinical practice. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation coefficient. Result: The mean score of stress was 2.82 (${\pm}.39$), depression was 19.23 (${\pm}7.70$), coping styles was 2.42 (${\pm}.42$), and satisfaction of clinical practice was 2.81 (${\pm}.41$). There were significant differences on four variables according to the satisfaction of a nursing major. Stress had a significant positive correlation with depression, and a negative correlation with problem focused coping and satisfaction of clinical practice. Depression had a significant negative correlation with satisfaction of clinical practice. Emotional focused coping had a significant positive correlation with depression, and problem focused coping had a significant negative correlation with depression. Conclusion: From the studies reviewed, one can expect a positive effect on decreasing stress and depression among nursing students when the nursing educators use counseling and instruction for clinical practice.

간호대학생의 셀프리더십, 임상수행능력이 임상실습만족도에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Nursing Students' Self-leadership and Clinical Competence on Clinical Practice Satisfaction)

  • 이 연구는 간호대학생의 셀프리더십, 임상수행능력과 임상실습만족도에 대한 관계를 파악하고, 임상실습만족도에 셀프리더십과 임상수행능력이 미치는 영향을 규명하기 위한 연구이다. 자료수집은 2019년 5월1일부터 5월 16일까지 조사하여, 186부의 설문지를 분석에 사용하였으며 SPSS/WIN 28.0통해 분석하였다. 대상자의 셀프리더십의 평균은 3.44점이고, 임상수행능력의 평균은 3.82점, 임상실습만족도의 평균은 3.69점으로 나타났다. 임상실습만족도는 셀프리더십(r=.221, p=.002)과 임상수행능력(r=.262, p<.001)과 양의 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났고, 셀프리더십과 임상수행능력(r=.050, p=.494)은 상관관계가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 임상실습만족도에 영향을 미치는 변수는 셀프리더십(β=.251, p<.001)과 임상수행능력(β=.208, p=.003)으로 나타났고, 이들 변수의 설명력은 10.4%로 나타났다. 따라서 간호대학생의 임상실습만족도를 높이기 위해서는 셀프리더십과 임상수행능력을 향상시킬수 있는 프로그램 개발이 이루어져야 한다.

  • Purpose: This study was done to compare the relationships between motivation to achieve, clinical competency, and satisfaction on clinical practice in diploma and baccalaureate nursing students. Method: A descriptive research design was used in this study. The participants were 181 nursing students in B city who were surveyed between June 2 and June 30, 2008 using self-report questionnaires. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS WIN 14.0. Results: There were significant difference in clinical competency according to satisfaction with college life, and motivation for choice of nursing for baccalaureate students. There was a positive correlation between motivation to achieve and clinical competency. Motivation to achieve and satisfaction in clinical practice, and clinical competency and satisfaction were correlated with clinical practice for students in both diploma and baccalaureate programs. The predictors influencing clinical competency for the nursing students were motivation to achieve, and satisfaction in clinical practice, and education level. Three factors explained 26.8% of clinical competency for nursing students. Conclusion: It is necessary to enhance individual motivation to achieve to improve clinical competency of nursing students. Motivation to achieve needs to be considered in planning programs to enhance clinical competency in nursing students.

치위생과 학생들의 임상실습 스트레스 요인 및 대처방식 (Dental hygiene students' stress during clinical practices and stress coping styles)

  • Objectives : In this study, 233 dental hygiene students in Seoul and Gyeonggi areas were surveyed in order to provide the basic data for more effective clinical practice by investigating the stress they experience during the clinical practice and how they cope with stress; Methods : 5 areas in stress factors as environmental factor, interpersonal factor, role and activity, ideal and value, and the amount of BEPSI and 4 areas in their coping methods as problem-oriented, social support, emotion-oriented, and wishful thinking were measured by Liker 5-point scale. Results : 1. The satisfaction level of subjects on their major was the highest as 'generally satisfied (50.6%),' and their satisfaction level of clinical practice was also the highest as 'generally satisfied (32.6%).' 2. The clinical practice stress was 2.76 points on average, and their stress factors were ideal and value (3.18), environmental factor (2.98), role and activity (2,70), the amount of BEPSI (2.55), and interpersonal factor (2.37). And the way how they cope with stress were 3.29 points on average, wishful thinking (3.71), social support (3.36), problem-oriented (3.13), and emotion-oriented (2.95). 3. The clinical practice stress according to clinical training institutions showed significant differences: university dental hospitals and general hospitals (2.83), dental clinics (2.65), and dental hospitals (2.63). 4. The clinical practice stress showed a negative correlation between the satisfaction level of major and the satisfaction level of clinical practice (p<0.01), and the more satisfaction they had in their major and clinical practice, the less stress during the clinical practice. 5. In the correlation between each subordinate factor of the stress in clinical practice and how to cope with it, interpersonal factor and emotion-oriented factor, the amount of BEPSI and wishful thinking showed a positive correlation (p<0.05). Conclusions : In this study, it is necessary to develop clinical practice program that is to increase satisfaction and provide motivation in order to reduce the stress during clinical training.
