업무 - KMS 적합이 KMS 성과에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (The Impact of Task-KMS Fit on KMS Performance)

  • In this research, we study how task and KMS fit influences on KMS performance in large corporations during its practical use. Based on the task-technology fit theory and information system success model, we developed a research model by considering the characteristics of KMS for supporting tasks. We try to verify how individual traits, task traits, and KMS Units affect task-KMS fit and how task KMS fit influences on KMS performance. We surveyed 212 employees who were using KMS and working for the large-sized manufacturing firms. We analyzed the collected data from LISREL 8.54 for Windows, and found the following significant results. First user satisfaction is increased when KMS provides knowledge to help to perform task rather than KMS' functionality. Second, user satisfaction is increased when KMS is suitable for performing task Hence, we verified task-KMS fit is an antecedent of user satisfaction. Third, task-KMS fit and user satisfaction have significant impacts on KMS performance. And user satisfaction affected more heavily on KMS performance than task-KMS fit did. As a result, we realized an individual performance can be improved when task KMS fit is high and, consequently, user satisfaction is increased. Forth while the usefulness of task-KMS fit is demonstrated, causal factors such as individual traits, task traits, and KMS traits significantly affect task-KMS fit. Formalization and knowledge trait we significant in enhancing user satisfaction, but KMS self-efficacy, autonomy, md system trait are not. These results indicate that task-KMS fit variable is useful as a measure of KMS performance as well as that of user satisfaction. Based on these results, we conclude that when KMS supports task activity, performance can be significantly improved by coordinating the task with KMS.

  • 본 연구에서는 공공부문에서 운영되고 있는 KMS의 성과평가의 일환으로 KMS 사용자 만족도의 선행요인 및 사용자 만족도와 성과 간의 구조적 관계를 분석하고 효과적인 KMS 운영을 위한 함의를 제시하였다. 본 연구에서 실시한 지식품질과 KMS 품질, 사용자 만족도 및 성과 간의 영향관계에 관한 구조방정식 분석결과, 연구모형에서 설정한 3개의 가설 모두가 채택되었다. 이러한 분석결과를 토대로 본 연구에서는 KMS 사용자 만족도 및 성과 향상을 위한 효과적인 KMS 운영방안을 제시하였다.

  • The aim of this study is to analyze how both the quality of KMS (Knowledge Management System) and its organizational factors have effect on the utilization and user satisfaction in the defense sector. This study has verified the effects and identified the main factors affecting KMS performance measures. The nature of KMS quality and its organizational characteristics were deduced from previous research results, and a questionnaire survey was conducted on 250 KMS users in the defense sector on the performance of KMS based on the time spent on KMS and the overall satisfaction through which the hypothesis was verified. This study has made several contributions in the fact that it had provided the opportunity to analyze which factors have impact on knowledge management performance in the defense sector and the utilization and users' satisfaction of KMS reflecting the viewpoint of the organizational characteristics of the military, while studying the factors which can affect the performance for knowledge management.

지식경영시스템의 사용자 성과에 영향을 미치는 요인: 실행공동체 특성요인을 중심으로 (The Factors Affecting the Performance of Knowledge Management Systems: Focused on the Quality of Community-of-Practice)

  • In order to manage organizational knowledge efficiently, Knowledge Management System(KMS) is considered as mandatory. This study aims at developing a KMS performance model to predict user satisfaction as well as KMS usage, considering the unique features of KMS. By analyzing 261 surveys with LISREL, we found that community of practice(CoP) characteristics - participation and interactivity among users - significantly affects KMS user satisfaction. This implies that the development of KMS should focus on facilitating users' interactivity and participations such as CoP activity, which differs from the general information system context. We also found that KMS usage is influenced by CoP interactivity, not by CoP participation, and that KMS usage as well as user satisfaction leads to user performance. Interpretations and implications of the findings are discussed.

  • 본 연구는 평가와 보상요인이 지식관리 시스템 도입요인(조직특성, 지식정보특성, 이용자특성)과 성과요인 간에 조절적 역할을 하고 있는지를 실증적으로 분석하였다. 분석 결과 조직 유연성, 신뢰, 지식의 적합성, 기능의 제공정도, 인지된 이익 요인은 KMS 활용도에 조절적인 역할을 하고 있는 것으로 분석되었으며, 사용 용이성, 이용자 전문성 요인은 KMS 활용도에 조절적인 역할을 하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. KMS 만족도에는 조직 유연성, 신뢰, 기능의 제공 정도, 이용자 전문성 요인은 KMS 만족도에 조절적인 역할을 하고 있는 것으로 분석되었으며, 지식의 적합성, 사용 용이성, 인지된 이익 요인은 KMS 만족도에 조절적인 역할을 하지 않는 것으로 나타났다.

블로그형 KMS와 비(非)블로그형 KMS 비교연구 (A Comparative Study on Blog based KMS and Non-Blog based KMS)

  • As Knowledge Management (KM) has taken an essential position of managing businesses in the knowledge-oriented society, many companies have adopted Knowledge Management System (KMS) into their organization. Many have questioned, however, in the result and the effectiveness in KMS. The purpose of this study is to explore ways to improve the current KMS by analyzing and identifying the causes that affect effectiveness of KMS. Blog which is an effective tool for communication could be used for KMS in order to make KMS more user friendly and more effective. This research is intended to conduct an empirical study on the differences between Blog-based KMS and Non-Blog-based KMS and suggest resolutions to potential issues of KMS. Blog-based KMS users show higher degree of satisfaction and usage toward their system. The result of this study suggests that the differences between two groups are primarily on system quality and knowledge quality, and many of these differences come from functions and characteristics of Blog.

군 지식관리시스템의 성공요인에 관한 실증적 연구 (An Empirical Study on the Success Factors for Military Knowledge Management System)

  • 본 연구에서는 지식관리시스템의 성공요인으로 시스템특성, 지식특성, 경영특성, 조직특성, 사용자특성 등 5개 요인을 도출하고 이를 군에 적용하여 성과(사용도, 사용자 만족도)에 미치는 영향을 실증적으로 분석하였다. 연구결과, 사용도에는 사용자특성이 가장 큰 정(+)의 영향력을 미치고, 사용자 만족도에는 지식특성이 가장 큰 정(+)의 영향력을 미치며, 조직특성은 사용도와 사용자 만족도에 모두 부(-)의 영향력을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과는 군 지식관리시스템의 성공적 운영방안을 제시함과 아울러 향후 시스템 구축 부대의 도입 초기 시행착오를 줄여 줌으로써 조기정착을 유도할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • 본 연구에서는 지식관리시스템(KMS)을 도입하여 활용 중인 공공기관을 중심으로 활용도와 만족도에 미치는 영향요인에 대한 연구이다. 공공기관의 경우 1999년 하반기부터 지식관리시스템을 본격적으로 도입하여 현재 국방부, 행정자치부, 기획예산처 등 대부분의 정부부처에서 시스템을 구축하여 운용하고 있다. 이로 인해 지식관리시스템의 편리성과 필요성을 이해하고, 지식자산의 중요성에 대한 인식이 확산되고 있다. 하지만 부서별 KMS 활용도에 많은 차이가 있으며 사용자 간에도 만족도에 많은 차이가 있음을 발견할 수 있다. 이는 KMS에 대한 최고책임자 관 심, 전담 인력 요인의 지원, 교육훈련 여부, KM 프로세스 지원 등의 많은 부분에서 영향을 받는 것으로 기대되었다. 따라서 본 연구는 KMS에 미치는 영향요인으로 조직특성, 지식정보특성, 전략특성의 하위요인을 도출하고 이러한 하위요인들이 KMS 활용도 및 KMS 만족도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 분석하여 향후 지식관리시스템을 활성화하기 위한 방안을 제시하고자 한다.

  • As many companies have recognized the importance of Knowledge Management(KM), they have invested lots of their resources in developing and deploying Knowledge Management Systems(KMS) to organize and share knowledge. When they implemented KMS in their organizations, most of them had high expectations about KMS at tile beginning. However, as time passed, its usage was rapidly declined. There have been many attempts to increase its usage. Many research works have tried to find solutions from users and organizations viewpoints, instead of the actual usage data itself. In order to assess the usage level of KMS, they have normally utilized user's attitudes toward KMS by assuming that user attitudes have strong relationship with actual uses of KMS. The purpose of this study is to assess tile impacts of user, organizational, and job characteristics on the satisfaction and the usage levels of KMS. Unlike other studies, this study is to explore impact factors which affect the usage level of KMS in organizations by using actual KMS log data as well as user's attitudes.

집단효능감이 지식경영시스템 사용자의 전유과정과 만족에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Group Efficacy on the Appropriation Process and User Satisfaction in Knowledge Management Systems)

  • This study introduces the construct of group efficacy and combines the construct with the Adaptive Structuration Theory(AST) and user satisfaction framework. Job efficacy and IT efficacy identified as the dimensions of group efficacy are hypothesized to influence faithfulness of appropriation and consensus on appropriation. and then the user satisfaction of knowledge management systems(KMS). Data were collected through a survey of respondents who have the experience of using KMS, and analyzed by using structural equations modelling. The major findings of this study are as follows: First, job efficacy was found to have a positive influence on consensus on appropriation and user satisfaction. Second, IT efficacy was found to have a positive effect on faithfulness of appropriation and consensus on appropriation. Third, faithfulness of appropriation was found to have a positive influence on consensus on appropriation and user satisfaction. Implications of these findings are discussed for researchers and practitioners.
