Purpose: The purpose of this paper was to investigate opinions and experiences of hospital CEOs' and QI managers toward the National Hospital Evaluation Program which was implemented in 2004 and to recommend various strategies to improve the program. Methods: We conducted a mail survey with CEOs and QI managers' of 78 hospitals with 500 beds or more that participated the 2004 National Hospital Evaluation Program. Results: About 70.8% of the participating CEOs and 64.0% of the QI managers felt that the objectives of the evaluation program weren't fully achieved. Most respondents said that the current program required a partial or an overall change. Evaluation Criteria was the most often cited area for a change. Many respondents pointed out the importance of including clinical quality indicators in the evaluation tool. Conclusions: To upgrade hospital services with better quality, it is most important to first reach consensus on objectives and approaches of the evaluation program among various players. For a consistent planning and implementation, it is urgent to set up a more systematic organization and financing mechanism. Also, evaluation approaches, including evaluation criteria, methods, patient satisfaction assessment, as well as ways to summarize and publicize each hospital's performance should be improved.
The purpose of this study is to develop the KPIs(Key Performance Indices) needed to improve management and strategy in the dental clinic based on the four perspectives of BSC(Balanced Scorecard). The questionnaire was conducted on 52 dentists approved by Dental Managment Research Committee in Seoul National University as a panel. Using the Delphi technique, the top five KPIs for each point of perspective in BSC were extracted from KPI pools. In the third survey, the top five KPIs of all points were compared with each other through AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) method, and priority and overall importance rankings were calculated. The biggest difference in the three level AHP results was the customer perspective took priority to others. In the second survey, the financial perspective, which was number one, was pushed back. The overall significance of KPIs was in the order of customer, internal process, finance, learning and growth perspective, with the exception of medical profits (5th of 20) and new patient growth (10th of 20). We were able to overcome the limitations of the Delphi Technique with the AHP method. In general, the financial perspective in BSC is known to be the most important, but we conclude that the customer perspective is more important through the pairwise comparison survey. In the current dental service market, which is a long-term recession, excessive competition, customer satisfaction and customer relationship management seem to be the first goal to pursue in dental clinic.
Objectives: This study was designed to confirm the effects of the Korean Medicine health promotion program targeting young children. One important aspect of the Korean Medicine health promotion program for children is to bring awareness of health benefits of introducing Korean Medicine methods to young children and to promote incorporating such methods in children's daily activities to develop healthy habits. Methods: The following experiment was conducted for 6 weeks, and the participants were in the age between 2 to 6 years old from 6 child care centers in Wonju and Chungju. 268 participants were in the intervention group, and 277 in the control group. To measure the outcomes of the Children Korean Medicine health program, the intervention group received Korean Medicine prevention programs (children education, parent education, growth exercises, common cold prevention scarf, and pear herb tea), control group did not. This research collected and compared the following data as the children's health indicators to measure the outcomes before and after the program: medical services usage, the number of absences, early leaves, and tardiness to the child care centers due to the participant's health condition. Results: After applying the children's health promotion programs on children between the age of 2-6, there was a decrease in the overall medical services usage, absences, early leaves, and tardiness to the child care center. This health promotion program was purely based on Korean medical theories and Korean Medicine resources without any conventional medical mediation. Conclusions: It can be concluded that a positive change was noted in raising awareness of Korean Medicine through educating both the parents and children. By learning to incorporate Korean Medicine prevention practices to daily habits, not only was there a reduction in the Medical services usage, but the children also became familiar and comfortable with Korean Medicine and its treatment procedures; the overall satisfaction level of the program was also high.

This study was conducted on daily news reporters working in Seoul to determine the factors/characteristics causing job stress and potential countermeasures. The survey was conducted by interviewing 170 daily news reporters who took part in the study from March 3rd to March 7th 2013. The analysis of the information was performed by frequency analysis, T-test and One-way ANOVA, correlation analysis etc. using the SPSS Win 21.0 program and the empirical analysis was verified at the 5% level of significance. First, the following results of the analysis were meaningful because current journalists and reporters showed reduced levels of stress when their job satisfaction was high. Secondary, smoking and art activity to alleviate their job stress were found to be strong stress countermeasures. Third, there were significant differences in those who had high levels of job stress and exhibited stronger ways of coping with it. This study affirms an alternative in basic policy, which can provide a working environment that helps journalists to perform their work proficiently and steadily.
The purpose of this study is to classify the determinants of channel performance and to reveal the contribution of classified performance factor on the total distribution performance of individual channel members. The empirical results of this study confirm that channel member performance is too rich and complex to be accurately reflected in a single item or even limited domain performance measures. The respondents in our sample monitored a lot of different facets of performance, indicating their belief in the multidimensional nature of performance. Our finding that outcome-based monitoring was particularly pervasive was not surprising given that managerial attention to end results is expected since those results are necessary for continued survival of the dealership. However, the dealership owner were not content to rely exclusively on these outcome performance indicators. They also gathered information on the efforts and activities that lead to those outcomes as well as other facets of information such as customer satisfaction and selling skills of salesperson. Limiting the definition and measurement of performance to outcomes only, or to a single item measure would have failed to capture important facets of performance, and could distort he relationship between the managerial variables and performance.

This paper examines the change of quality of life in the Integrated Yosu City and suggests the directions of urban development. Research into the quality of life in local and region scale is interesting both from the point of view of theory and practice, and has attracted much attention in the social sciences since the 1960s. This study is an attempt to examine the change of the quality of hie in the Integrated Yosu City. In the overall assessment of the level of satisfaction about the quality of life during the past five years, most of the respondents have positive evaluation of the changes of quality of urban life. In particular, the quality of living facilities, urban administration and convenience services has relatively improved during the past five years. On the other hand, the quality of physical environment. art and cultural opportunities, transportation options has been backward during the past five years. Therefore, the directions of urban development of the Integrated Yosu City may be summarized as follows: the establishment of a wide transportation network system, waterfront development, the activation of tourism industry and harbor works, the preparation of an urban landscape, the citizens'campaign for a community culture.
The literature on parent-child relationships in young adulthood lacks a systemic approach that considers the multifaceted nature of intergenerational relationships. In this paper, we identify the latent profiles of young Korean adults' relationships with their parents based on the six dimensions of intergenerational solidarity (structural, associational, affectual, consensual, functional, and normative solidarity) as indicators. We considered solidarity for the mother and the father separately for structural, associational, affectual, and consensual dimensions. In terms of functional and normative solidarity, we measured both upstream and downstream intergenerational support. The sample included 1,015 young adults who were 19-34 years old, never married, not in secondary school, and had both parents living. The latent profile analysis revealed four profiles: (a) independent but intimate (22.7%), (b) coresident, outwardly intimate (32.4%), (c) detached from father (6.7%), and (d) coresident, intimate (38.2%). The factors that predicted each profile included the young adults' education, income, subjective socioeconomic status, and experiencing the features of emerging adulthood along with the parents' marital status, father's employment, and overparenting. The "coresident, intimate" group reported significantly higher levels of life satisfaction and fewer depressive symptoms compared to the other three groups. The lowest levels of psychological adjustment were found in the "coresident, outwardly intimate" group and "detached from father" group.
Medical humanities education (MHE) is as essential as basic medical sciences and clinical medicine education. Despite the importance of MHE, MHE curriculum development (CD) has proven to be challenging. This critical review examines the MHE CD at one medical school. The critical review methodology was developed based on Kern's six step CD model to systematically examine the CD of "Doctoring and Medical Humanities (DMH)" at the Yonsei University College of Medicine. Five review questions were developed related to (1) necessity, (2) direction and purpose, (3) design, (4) operation, and (5) evaluation of CD based on Kern's model. The review showed that the process of DMH CD mapped to components of Kern's model. The DMH curriculum content selected was closely related to medical practice and aimed to combine the acquisition of understanding and skills by designing a student-participatory curriculum based on clinical cases. Assessment methods that emphasized students' reflections were actively introduced in the evaluation section. Since the regular committee for DMH continued the work of the special ad hoc committees for DMH CD, the CD was effectively completed. However, the planning and evaluation functions and responsibilities of the DMH committee need to be strengthened. Despite the apparent limitations, the fact that students showed a high satisfaction rate and preferred small group discussions based on clinical cases has significant implications in the instructional design of MHE, where changes in self-awareness and attitude are more important than the acquisition of information. It is necessary to systematically review and study students' reflection results produced by the changed assessment methods and to develop assessment indicators for MHE that reflect the achievements of the MHE competencies of students.

Recently, numerous government institutions and information service organizations have shown interests in employing ISO 9001 Quality Management System(QMS) to increase their organizational performances. However, due to the gap between the system requirements and the process oriented goals in reality, they have not been able to merit from the ISO 9001 QMS. So, Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information(KISTI) has been designed a process oriented system by incorporating the process analysis results into the existing ISO 9001 system requirements for enhancing organizational competitiveness and promoting productivity through a process standardization. As a result, KISTI has been ISO 9001:2000 certificate in November 11, 2003. And we obtain a improvement of customer satisfaction and efficiency of work, reduction of work processing time using KQMS.
Background: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the outcomes of clinical education program for nurses in regional public hospital, utilizing the Kirkpatrick's model. Methods: Kirkpatrik's 4-level model was applied to this study. Trainees were asked to fill out questionnaires in the middle and at the end of the program. Also administrators of excellent trainees were asked to fill out the questionnaires regarding nursing management performance after 1-2 months from the end of the training course. Results: All trainees had positive reactions to the clinical education program. Not only the results of individual level (satisfaction and achievement scores, academic achievement scores, practical application rate, and educational transition factors) but also the scores of organization level (nursing management performance scores) are improved. Conclusion: By showing a correlation between the effectiveness factors we need to verify the relationship between these factors in a future study. In addition, development of quantitative and qualitative performance indicators are needed. To establish a long-term education system, it is required to applying the excellent trainee's successful experiences.
