The Effects of Employed and Unemployed Mother's Parenting Efficacy and Parental Role Satisfaction on Life-Satisfaction (취업모와 비취업모의 양육효능감, 부모역할만족도가 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study explored the effects of parenting efficacy and parental role satisfaction on the life-satisfaction of employed and unemployed mothers. The 527 mothers(234 employed, and 277 unemployed), with a child under 7 years old, were selected for this study. The results were as follows. First, employment had significant correlations with several factors, including the number of children, family income, educational level of parents, parent-child relations, preparedness for parental role conflict, and life-satisfaction. Second, for employed mothers, life-satisfaction had positive relationships with various factors, including family income, fathers' educational level, parenting efficacy, and parental role satisfaction; whereas, that of unemployed mothers had positive relationships with parenting efficacy, and parental role satisfaction. Third, for employed mothers, life-satisfaction was affected by several factors, such as family income, parental role satisfaction, parent-child relations, and preparedness for parental role conflict; however, unemployed mothers were affected by the number of children, the fathers' educational level, and self-confidence relating to the parental role, general satisfaction, and preparedness for parental role conflict.

How Does the Time Variation of Customer Satisfaction Affect Korean Retail Firms' Performance?

  • Purpose - This study aims to examine how the time variations of customer satisfaction influence retail firms' performance. Research design, data, and methodology - The study employs yearly time series customer satisfaction data of Korean retail secured from the National Customer Satisfaction Index(NCSI) for the 2011~2016 period. Our data includes a total of 90 observations of 15 retail firms in 5 different sector(department store, filling station, large discount store, open market, TV home shopping). We obtained the firm performance data from the KIS Value database. The variables for financial performance include sales and net profit. Results - The results show that customer satisfaction has dynamic effects on retail firms' performance. More specifically, the time variation of customer satisfaction has the moderating effect on the linkage between customer satisfaction and financial performance as well as direct effects on the firms' financial performance. Conclusions - Customer satisfaction has the current effect lasting over time on firm performance and changes of customer satisfaction in positive direction also impact on firm performance. Retail firms need to not only focus on improving customer satisfaction in the current term, but make efforts to continuously enhance customer satisfaction in the long term.

  • The purpose of this study was to improve job satisfaction and welfare of the employees in the long-term mental health care facilities. This study was conducted to examine the job satisfaction of 102 employees in the long-term mental health care facilities. Data were collected through education programmes held in Seoul National Hospital at June, 1. The job satisfaction of employees is $2.60\pm0.40$ in total average score. The job satisfaction in the physical environment item is the highest score, $2.76\pm0.62$. The peer relation item value is the lowest, $2.00\pm0.45$. 2. In the case of consideration of job satisfaction by general characteristics, there was no differences in job satisfaction. According to the job satisfaction by types of licences, by the director's efforts, there was significant differences. Comparing to other employees, the employees who doesn't have any licence were more satisfied. Also the director's efforts was significant variable to improve job satisfaction. 3. The total satisfaction level was influenced by the variables of working condition (0.738), welfare (0.728), allowance(0.714), pride(0.701). The total satisfaction level showed positive correlation of this variables. 2002. The questionnaires included items about general character. facility character. and job satisfaction items of employees. The results of this study were summarized as follows.

Patient satisfaction study by function of implant prosthesis (임플란트 보철의 기능별 환자 만족도 연구)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to provide the basic data for improving patient satisfaction and dental services by examining the satisfaction of implant patients who have become important customers of dental treatment due to the increased demand for implants and identifying the factors affecting satisfaction. Methods: Out of 145 questionnaires, excluding 15 questionnaires that were unfaithfully responded to or difficult to analyze, 130 questionnaires were used for the analysis of the satisfaction of the dental patients with implant treatment in 19 dental hospitals and clinics in Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. Results: Implant satisfaction was as high as 3.20 (±0.56) for masticatory function satisfaction, 3.19 for psychological function satisfaction (±0.59), and 3.01 (±0.58) for social function satisfaction. Conclusion: Consistent patient care is important because an implant is not a one-shot cure but ends over a period of several months to several years. It is meaningful in that this study measured the satisfaction of implant prostheses evaluated from a patient's point of view and examined various factors and needs affecting patient satisfaction to provide the basic data for research that can contribute to improving the satisfaction of implant patients.

Measuring the Service Quality, Perceived Value and Satisfaction in Namhaean Area Restaurants (남해안 지역 음식점들의 서비스 품질, 지각된 가치와 만족도의 평가)

  • The purpose of this study was to measure the effects that service quality, perceived value and satisfaction have on loyalty in Namhaean area restaurants. A total of 273 questionnaires were completed. The structural equation model was used as an analysis method to measure the causal effects of service quality, perceived value, satisfaction and loyalty. The results demonstrated that the structural analysis result for the data was an excellent model fit. The effect of service quality on value, the effect of perceived sacrifice on value, the effect of service quality on satisfaction, the effect of value on satisfaction, and the effect of satisfaction on loyalty were statistically significant. Moreover service quality had an indirect effect on satisfaction through perceived value, and service quality also had an indirect effect on loyalty through perceived value and satisfaction. Perceived value had an indirect effect on loyalty, and an effect through satisfaction. Perceived sacrifice had an indirect effect on satisfaction through perceived value, and it also had an indirect effect on loyalty, and an effect through satisfaction. Further study is still required, and should be aimed at identifying the causal mechanisms of constructs, such that restaurant managers might be better prepared to offer value and satisfaction to their customers.

Factors Related with Residential Satisfaction of Urban Villages in Shenzhen, China (중국 심천시 어번 빌리지 주거만족도에 관련된 요소)

  • Residential satisfaction is one of the most studied topics in the field of housing. This paper is to find factors that correlate with residential satisfaction of the residents and study the satisfaction differences between different groups of residents in urban village in Shenzhen. A questionnaire of 61 satisfaction variables grouped into five components based on literature review and actual situation in targeted village was conducted to find out factors related with residential satisfaction in urban villages. These components are dwelling unit, building conditions, village environment, neighborhood environment, and neighbors. Factors were extracted from these components and the correlations between the factors and residential satisfaction were analyzed by using Pearson's correlation coefficient to find out factors that most correlate to residential satisfaction. Satisfaction differences of the five components between respondents with different characteristics were also studied. The result showed all the factors positively correlated with residential satisfaction and residential satisfaction correlated the most with the factors of perception and information exchange, room sizes, and air condition and quality. The characteristics of gender, unit type, and interaction frequency with neighbors contributed to different satisfaction with certain components.

  • The purposes of this research were to investigate the general trends and differences of family members' satisfaction and attitudes related to mother's employment condition, to examine the correlations between every members' employment condition, to examine the correlations between every members' interactions, and to analyze the effects of related variables. To study these objectives, three kinds of questionnaire were used and the data were obtained through 780 parents and adolescents. The jmajor findings were as follows: 1) The general trends of family member's interactions showed that the score of relationship satisfaction between mother and adolescent was higher than father and adolescent. Nonemployed mothers and their children were more traditional in attitudes. 2) The correlations of family member's interactions were significant in satisfaction. Husband's occupational attitudes were related with wife's interactions were significant in satisfaction. Husband's occupational attitudes were related with wife's satisfaction, and parentadolescent attitudes were related each other in dual earner family. 3) Mother's marital satisfaction was affected by employment condition, communication satisfaction, husband's aid, support, satisfaction for employment condition, and father's was affected by communication satisfaction and wife's marital satisfaction. Adolescent's satisfaction with father was influenced by satisfaction with mother and mother's employment condition, and sex-role attitudes were influenced by employment condition and father's support.

  • The objective of this study was to investigate how to improve job satisfaction for dietitians and nutrition teachers by identifying influencing factors in Daejeon and Chungnam Province, South Korea. A survey was conducted among school foodservice dietitians and nutrition teachers from selected primary, middle and high school in the area. This survey consisted of general characteristics, status of their job, job satisfaction, work satisfaction and work performance. In this study we found current state of general characteristics and status of their job according to frequency analysis and the level of work satisfaction, work performance and job satisfaction using descriptive statistics. The t-test, ANOVA and Duncan-test were also conducted in order to searching for tendency of job satisfaction according to the general characteristics and the status of their job. Pearson's correlation was carried out in order to find correlation with job satisfaction. Also, factors, which influenced job satisfaction according to regression analysis, were drawn. We describe the difference of job satisfaction between irregular dietitians and nutrition teachers as well. Besides we discussed the improvement of dietitians' (nutrition teachers') work environment to raise their job satisfaction through this study.

Employee Stress Based on Intrinsic and Extrinsic Stress Factors and their Connection to Job Satisfaction

  • Purpose: This study explores the intrinsic and extrinsic stress factors that affect employees' job satisfaction. The study reviews the literature on three intrinsic and three extrinsic stress factors that influence the job satisfaction level of employees, establishing the various research findings on the factors and finding the relevant links that such findings have to current research. Research design, data and methodology: The present researcher collected the relevant prior studies via literature content approach that was used by numerous previous works. The researcher transcribed the data gathered from the participants. The next analyst would code the different features of data systematically across the entire set of data, thereby collecting the relevant data for each of the codes. Results: The investigation suggests six stress factors to be connected to job satisfaction, such as Hours of Work Employee Job Satisfaction, Communication and Employee job Satisfaction, Leadership Style Employee Job Satisfaction, Competition Employee Job Satisfaction, Career Development Opportunities Employee Job Satisfaction, Strikes and employee Job Satisfaction Conclusions: This research concludes that organizations with proper communication channels will certainly influence their employees positively and hence give them job satisfaction. Overall, this qualitative research has found that intrinsic and extrinsic factors influence the job satisfaction level of employees in a workplace.

A Study on the Relationship between the Student Satisfaction Level of School Uniforms Compared to the Amount of Parental Control and Their School Life Satisfaction (남녀 고등학생의 부모통제 및 학교생활만족도와 교복만족도의 관계 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the differences of the satisfaction with school uniforms according to demographic variables and to investigate the causal relations of parental control, school life satisfaction, and demographic variables to the satisfaction with school uniform. The research method was a survey method using a questionnaire. The subjects were 407 high school students (191 male, and 216 female) residing in Seoul and the suburbs of Seoul. Students were very satisfied with the convenience of not having to choose what to wear every morning, but the satisfactions with uniform cost and design were lower. The aesthetic, psychological, and status symbol satisfaction of school uniforms were higher as parents and adolescents had more communication, and the psychological and status symbol satisfaction of school uniforms were higher as the level of parental supervision for adolescents was higher. The female students had higher psychological satisfaction with school uniforms than the male students were. The aesthetic satisfaction of school uniforms was lower as mother's education level was higher. The adolescents from upper class families had lower aesthetic, psychological, and status symbol satisfaction with school uniforms than the adolescents from middle and lower class families. The satisfaction with school uniform was influenced by school life satisfaction the most, and the next in the order by grade (-), the social class (-), and the communication with parents. The factors that influenced school life satisfaction for students were parental supervision, school records, the discipline consistency of parents, and their communication with their parents. Therefore, the 4 variables had indirect effect on the satisfaction with school uniform through school life satisfaction.
