  • In this study, the deformation, stress, vibration, fatigue life and the probability of damage are analyzed at the pedal applied by the force of 300N. The maximum stress at the lower of pedal is shown as 20.801MPa. And the maximum displacement is 0.85mm at the maximum response frequency as 3800Hz. Among the cases of nonuniform fatigue loads, 'SAE bracket history' with the severest change of load becomes most unstable but 'Sample history' becomes most stable. In case of 'Sample history' with the average stress of 0 to $-10^{5}MPa$ and the amplitude stress of 0 to $10^{5}MPa$, the possibility of maximum damage becomes 0.6%. This stress state can be shown with 5 times more than the damage possibility of 'SAE bracket history' or 'SAE transmission'. The structural result of this study can be effectively improved with the design of pedal by investigating durability against its damage.

  • The secular period behavior of 23 field RR Lyrae stars is studied in order to determine if the observed period changes could be attributed, at least in the mean, to stellar evolution. The sample of stars is subdivided into two Oosterhoff groups based on the metallicity and period-shift. Despite the small sample size, we found a distinct bias toward positive period changes in the group II variables. The period changes of the group I variables, however, are small and in the mean near zero. This is consistent with the behavior predicted by the recent evolutionary models, as was the case for the variables in globular clusters. This provides yet another support for the Lee, Demarque, and Zinn (1990) evolutionary models of RR Lyrase stars and their explanation of the Sandage period-shift effect.

  • The thermal annealing effect of $Zn_{0.9}Cd_{0.1}$ single quantum-well structures grown by molecular beam epitaxy is investigated. As the results of before and after rapid thermal annealed samples a red shift of E1-HH1 peak by Cd interdiffusion during thermal annealing of ZnCeSe/ZnSe sample was observed. In the case of annealed sample over $450^{\circ}C$ donor and acceptor impurities related peaks were observed which seems to be due to a diffusion of Ga and As from GaAs substrate. And also interdiffusion phenomena is idenified by the results of DCX measurements and which are consisten with the PL measurements.

  • The problem of simultaneously estimating the pairwise differences of means of four independent normal populations with equal variances is considered. A statistical computing procedure involving a trivariate t density constructs the exact confidence intervals with simultaneous co verage probability equal to $1-\alpha$. For equal sample sizes, the new procedure is the same as the Tukey studentized range procedure. With unequal sample sizes, in the sense of efficiency for confidence interval lengths and experimentwise error rates, the procedure is superior to the various generalized Tukey procedures.

  • For a random sample of size n from general linear model, $Y_i= heta(X_i)+varepsilon_i,;let Y_{in}$ denote the ith oder statistics of the Y sample values. The X-value associated with $Y_{in}$ is denoted by $X_{[in]}$ and is called the concomitant of ith order statistics. The estimator of the location of a maximum of a regression function, $ heta$($\chi$), was proposed by (equation omitted) and was found the convergence rate of it under certain weak assumptions on $ heta$. We will discuss the asymptotic distributions of both $ heta(X_{〔n-r+1〕}$) and (equation omitted) when r is fixed as nolongrightarrow$\infty$(i.e. extreme case) on the basis of the theorem of the concomitants of order statistics. And the will investigate the asymptotic behavior of Max{$\theta$( $X_{〔n-r+1:n〕/}$ ), . , $\theta$( $X_{〔n:n〕}$)}as an estimator for the peak of a regression function.

  • In this paper, we propose a nonparametric test procedure for the multivariate, grouped and right censored data for two sample problem. For the construction of the test statistic, we use the linear rank statistics for each component and apply the permutation principle for obtaining the null distribution. For the large sample case, the asymptotic distribution is derived under the null hypothesis with the additional assumption that two censoring distributions are also equal. Finally, we illustrate our procedure with an example and discuss some concluding remarks. In appendices, we derive the expression of the covariance matrix and prove the asymptotic distribution.

  • This study analyzes about automotive engine tension bearing through the structural analyses of fatigue and vibration. Maximum equivalent stress is shown at the lower of tensioner. Among the cases of nonuniform fatigue loads, 'SAE bracket history' with the severest change of load becomes most unstable but 'Sample history' becomes most stable. In case of 'Sample history' with the average stress of 0 to $-10^{6}MPa$, the possibility of maximum damage becomes 3%. This stress state can be shown with 6 times more than the damage possibility of 'SAE Bracket history' or 'SAE transmission'. The structural result of this study can be effectively utilized with the design of tension bearing by investigating prevention and durability against its damage.

  • We have developed a simple model allowing further clarifications of the magnetoresistance (MR) contribution to the giant magnetoimpedance (GMI) effect in thin films. The theoretical considerations are the following. It is absolutely assumed that a thin film with no magnetic domain structure and a high frequency ac current I = I$\sub$0/e$\^$iwt/ flowing parallel to the Z direction in the plane of the film. The sample has the thickness 2a in the X direction, thus the Y direction in the plane of the sample and perpendicular to the current direction. The transverse permeability ${\mu}$$\sub$Y/ in the Y direction is uniform. In the case of GMI effect, the total impedance Z = R + iX can be written as.

  • In statistical process control applications, variable sample size (VSS) $\bar{X}$ chart is often used to detect the assignable cause quickly. However, it is usually assumed that only one assignable cause results in the out-of-control in the process. In this paper, we propose the algorithm to minimize the function of cost per unit time and compare the economic design and the statistical design by use of the value of cost per unit time. We consider double assignable causes to occur with compound in the process and adopt the Markov chain approach to investigate the statistical properties of VSS $\bar{X}$ chart. A procedure that can calculate the control chart's parameters is proposed by the economic design.

  • A variety of practical problems can be addressed in the framework of rotation (successive) sampling. The present work presents a sample rotation pattern where sampling units are drawn on two successive occasions. The problem of estimation of population variance on current (second) occasion in two - occasion successive (rotation) sampling has been considered. A class of estimators has been proposed for population variance that includes many estimators as a particular case. Asymptotic properties of the proposed class of estimators are discussed. The proposed class of estimators is compared with the sample variance estimator when there is no matching from the previous occasion. Optimum replacement policy is discussed. Results are supported with the empirical means of comparison.
