차량 충돌 시뮬레이션에 의한 강재 및 복합소재 교량용 방호울타리 성능 비교 (Performance Evaluation of Steel and Composite Safety Barrier for Bridge by Vehicle Crash Simulation)

  • 본 연구에서는 복합소재 교량용 방호울타리를 개발하여 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통해 강재 교량용 방호울타리와 복합소재교량용 방호울타리의 성능을 비교하였다. 구조적 강도 성능 측면에서, 복합소재 교량용 방호울타리의 경우 교량용 방호울타리의 변형이 17%로 감소하여 강재 교량용 방호울타리 보다 강도 성능이 우수하였다. 탑승자 보호 성능 측면에서, 복합소재 교량용 방호울타리는 THIV 47.1%, PHD 49.0%로 감소하여 강재 교량용 방호울타리 보다 탑승자 보호성능이 우수하였다. 충돌 후 차량의 거동 측면에서, 복합소재 교량용 방호울타리는 이탈속도가 증가하고 이탈각도가 감소하여 강재 교량용방호울타리 보다 충돌 후 차량의 거동이 우수하였다. 교량용 방호울타리의 비산 측면에서, 강재 및 복합소재 교량용 방호울타리는 비산이 발생하지 않았다.

연석의 실물차량 충돌시험 데이터를 이용한 주행안전성 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on Driving Safety Evaluations Using Full Scale Crash Test Data of Curb)

  • Current [Guideline for Installation and Management of Sidewalks and Safety Facilities on Roads] suggests that the types of curbs should be Barrier curb ($85^{\circ}$). Although Barrier curbs ($90^{\circ}$) were not specified in the guideline. The curbs installed on the roads currently are Barrier curbs ($90^{\circ}$) which are not specified in the installation standard. Therefore, it is critical to prepare for the installation standard of curbs by researching types of curbs and driving safety. This research have assessed the driving safety throughout Full Scale Crash Test according to type of curbs (Barrier curbs ($85^{\circ}$) and Barrier curbs ($90^{\circ}$)). Barrier curbs ($90^{\circ}$) showed higher figure in Theoretical head Impact Velocity, Post-impact Head Deceleration, Vehicle Damage when Crash, Passenger's Wounds Severity, and every other items than Barrier curbs ($85^{\circ}$). Barrier curbs ($85^{\circ}$) were found to have better Occupant Safety Index. Analysis of Behavior Using Full-Scale Crash Test showed difference depending on the Impact Condition between Barrier curbs ($85^{\circ}$) and Barrier curbs ($90^{\circ}$). Generally, Barrier curbs ($85^{\circ}$) were superior than Barrier curbs ($90^{\circ}$) in terms of protecting the passengers and vehicle damages. When an impact angle increases, Acceleration of Vehicle, Variations of Speed, and Contact Relationship between Wheels and Curbs, two types of curb showed similarity. However, if an impact of an angle decreases, Barrier Curbs ($85^{\circ}$) showed excellence in Driving Safety such as Acceleration of Vehicle, Variations of Speed, and Contact Relationship between Wheels and Curbs.

Performance evaluation of steel and composite bridge safety barriers by vehicle crash simulation

  • The performance of full-scale steel and composite bridge safety barriers under vehicle crash is evaluated by using the nonlinear explicit finite element code LS-DYNA. Two types of vehicles used in this study are passenger car and truck, and the performance criteria considered include structural strength and deformation, occupant protection, and post-crash vehicle behavior. It can be concluded that the composite safety barrier satisfies all performance criteria of vehicle crash. Although the steel safety barrier satisfies the performance criteria of occupant protection and post-crash vehicle behavior, it fails to satisfy the performance criterion of deformation. In all performance evaluations, the composite safety barrier exhibits a superior performance in comparing with the steel safety barrier.

투약오류보고장애요인과 투약오류보고의도의 관계에서 수간호사의 안전 관련 변혁적 리더십의 매개, 완충효과 (The Mediating and Moderating Roles of Safety-specific Transformational Leadership on the Relationship between Barrier to and Intention of Reporting Medication Errors)

  • Purpose: This study was aimed to identify the mediating and moderating effects of safety-specific transformational leadership on the relationship between barrier to and intention of reporting medication errors. Methods: Two hundred thirty seven nurses from seven different hospitals participated in the study. Safety-specific transformational leadership was measured by an instrument with 10 items, barrier to reporting medication errors with 16 items, and intention of reporting medication errors with 3 items. The data was collected from September to October 2012. Descriptive statistics, factor analysis, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient and a hierarchial regression analysis were used. Results: There were significant negative correlations between the subcategories of barrier to reporting medication errors and intention of reporting medication errors (r=-.16~-.27, p<.001), and a positive correlation between the intention and safety-specific transformational leadership (r=.25, p<001). Transformational leadership was a mediator between barrier to and intention of reporting medication errors. Conclusion: Safety-specific transformational leadership mediated the relationships between barrier to and intention of reporting medication errors. Enhancing safety-specific transformational leadership of nursing unit managers is necessary to increase the intention to reporting medication errors.

본질안전방폭용 BARRIER에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Barrier of Intrinsic Safety Type)

  • Intrinsic safety is generally considered the safest method of operating electrical instrumention in potentially explosive atmospheres. The method of intrinsic safety limits the energy passing into the hazardus area. The energy limitation is provided by the use of safety barriers which are mounted in the safe area. Because of the energy limitation, regardless of the fault in the hazardous area, sufficient energy cannot be released to ignite the explosive atmosphere. The following industries are known to have hazardous locations: chemical. munitions, petrochemical, auto(paint spray booths), grain, waste water, printing, distillers, pharmaceutical. breweries, cosmetics, and utilities. In this paper, a isolator type barrier for ship(LNG, LPG, etc,) and test equipment confidence are proposed. The test equipments are designed for mechanical electrical life time test and vibration. All of test results satisfy the goal and the studied barrier shows the improved confidence.

A study on maritime casualty investigations combining the SHEL and Hybrid model methods

  • This paper reviews the analysis of a given scenario according to the Hybrid Model, and why accident causation models are necessary in casualty investigations. The given scenario has been analyzed according to the Hybrid Model using its main five components, fallible decisions, line management, psychological precursors to unsafe acts, unsafe acts, and inadequate defenses. In addition, the differences between the SHEL and the Hybrid Model, and the importance of a safety barrier during an accident investigation, are shown in this paper. One unit of SHEL can be linked with another unit of SHEL. However, it cannot be used for the analysis of an accident. Therefore, we must use an accident causation model, which can be a Hybrid Model. This can explain the "How" and "Why" of accident, so it is a suitable model for analyzing them. During an accident investigation, the reason we focus on a safety barrier is to create another safety barrier or to change an existing safety barrier if that barrier fails. Hence, the paper shows how a sea accident can be investigated, and we propose a preventive way of avoiding the accident through combining the methods of different models for the future.

고정벽 정면충돌시험 결과에 미치는 요인 분석 (Analysis on the Factors Affecting the Results of Full Frontal Barrier Impact Test)

  • The objective of this study was to find the factors affecting the results of full frontal barrier impact test for the NCAP (New Car Assessment Program). To find the factors, the frontal NCAP test results of the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) were utilized. The three tested vehicle were same model year. It was observed the second peak value of barrier force affected the occupant injury risk. As the second peak value of the barrier force increases, the injury risk of the driver side occupant increases as well.

Determination of THRs - A Practical Approach for Manufacturers According to EN50129

  • The paper will outline how hazard identification and risk evaluation can effectively be performed to obtain Tolerable Hazard Rates (THR). As a target group manufacturers are addressed, who face the situation, that for a generic application THRs are needed for compliance with EN 50129 [1]. Focusing on functional hazards this paper shows a possible hazard log and the relevant analysis methods. The terms safety barrier and barrier function will be introduced and used instead of the term "safety function". As functional hazards and barrier functions depend on each other, emphasis will be put on a comprehensive and detailed definition of barrier functions and the usage of function lists. By using detailed and complete hazard and barrier function definitions THRs can be obtained while at the same time the approach becomes clear how the hazard rates (HR) will be established.

  • Commercial use of autonomous vehicles is to come soon. So far most of responsibility of the accident is on the human driver with conventional vehicles whereas that will be on the car OEM and transportation related organizations with autonomous vehicles, which asks car OEM's and government to do vast study of car crash in various conditions. Test protocols need amendment and to be newly enacted to reflect new findings from the study aforementioned. Rigid stationary barrier and moving or stationary deformable barrier as well as car to car test which is same as actual accident can be utilized to simulate the crash happening on the road. Among those 3 test methods, rigid stationary barrier is most economic and has good repeatability. Limitation as well as advantage of the rigid stationary barrier is studied through comparison between car to car crash and oblique rigid barrier crash.

방음벽 안전을 위한 기준 조사 및 분석 (Investigation and Analysis of Regulations for the Safety of the Noise Barrier)

  • For the noise reduction measures in a construction field or near the traffic line receiver is often the most economic measure in order to exclude the propagated sound. The dimension of the barrier is decided by the noise and construction design, and the constructive quality of a soundproof panel shall be secured in accordance with KS F4770 to guarantee the safety of sound barriers. In this paper the problems included in the KS F4770-1 that is the regulation for the metallic sound barrier of the absorption type are identified and it is suggested what to be corrected or improved. Through a series of the analyses, conclusions were reached that it is required to improve test methods in KS F4770-1 as well as to break down test loads for building more cost-effective sound barrier.
