Betulinic Acid Induces Apoptosis in Humam Mucoepidermoid Carcinoma Cells Through Regulating Specificity Protein 1 and Its Downstream Molecule, Survivin

  • 악성도가 높은 점액표피양 암종은 치료가 어렵고 5년 생존률이 매우 낮다. 따라서, 새로운 치료 물질과 분자표적을 찾는 것이 필요하다. Betulinic acid (BA)는 세계적으로 쉽게 얻을 수 있는 물질인 동시에 여러 종류의 종양에서 항암효과를 보인다. 또한 여러 정상 조직은 BA에 저항성을 보인다. 이 연구에서는 BA의 증식억제 효능과 MC-3 세포주에서의 분자 표적을 확인하고자 하였다. BA는 MC-3 세포주에서 세포 생존을 저해하였고 세포사멸을 유도하였다. BA는 Sp 1과 그의 하향 분자 표적인 survivin에 영향을 주었으나, 다른 하향 분자 표적인 Mcl-1에서는 유의한 변화를 일으키지 못하였다. 따라서, BA는 Sp1과 survivin을 조절하여 세포사멸을 일으키는 잠재적인 항암제 후보가 될 수 있을 것이라 사료된다.

Numerical optimization of transmission bremsstrahlung target for intense pulsed electron beam

  • The optimization of a transmission type bremsstrahlung conversion target was carried out with Monte Carlo code FLUKA for intense pulsed electron beams with electron energy of several hundred keV for maximum photon fluence. The photon emission intensity from electrons with energy ranging from 300 keV to 1 MeV on tungsten, tantalum and molybdenum targets was calculated with varied target thicknesses. The research revealed that higher target material element number and electron energy leads to increased photon fluence. For a certain target material, the target thickness with maximum photon emission fluence exhibits a linear relationship with the electron energy. With certain electron energy and target material, the thickness of the target plays a dominant role in increasing the transmission photon intensity, with small target thickness the photon flux is largely restricted by low energy loss of electrons for photon generation while thick targets may impose extra absorption for the generated photons. The spatial distribution of bremsstrahlung photon density was analyzed and the optimal target thicknesses for maximum bremsstrahlung photon fluence were derived versus electron energy on three target materials for a quick determination of optimal target design.

  • In this paper which was performed to bring public attention to the need for developing an photoelectric smoke detector that detects smokes emitted from diverse fire sources, it was confirmed that the photoelectric smoke detector may not respond to certain smoke types depending on the size and color of smoke particles. The test was performed on a photoelectric smoke detector which is being used generally for specific fire targets specified in UL268, including paper fire, wood fire and flammable liquid fire, while the actual response performance of the fire detector, as well as respective smoke particles collected from different fire source which were photographed with a SEM(Scanning electron microscope) were analyzed in the test for this study.

  • This paper proposes an evaluates a new approach to detect ships as targets from Radarsat-1 SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) imagery in the vicinity of Korean peninsula. To be more specific, a labeling technique and morphological filtering in conjunction with some other methods are employed to automatically detect the ships. From the test, the ships are revealed to be detected. For ground truth data, information from a radar system is used, which allows assessing accuracy of the approach. The results showed that the proposed approach has the high potential in automatically detecting the ships.

  • Present maintenance of a high speed railway is after the fack maintenance that executes a task when measured value goes over threshold value except some planned maintenance. It is difficult from efficient management of maintenance human resource and equipment commitment because it is difficult to predict quantity of maintenance targets. Corrective maintenance is pushed back on the repair priority of other target to need repair and it is exceeded repair cost potentially. For safety and dependable track management because track deterioration prediction is linked directly with track's life and safety of train service, it is very important that track management be based on preventive maintenance. In this study, we propose statistics model of track quality to use track inspection data and forecast model for track deterioration prediction.

  • A company wishes to obtain a competitive edge by adopting an efficient logistics information system to control the logistics management process. The elements of the competitive edges a company targets are to maintain good quality, reduce cost and on-time delivery and those competitive edges are closely related to the cycle time of a product. The logistics information system in a company is also closely tied with other business activities than the logistics itself. Therefore it is essential to choose a system that will help rationalize the logistics but also overall business operations along the supply chain from manufacturing to distribution of the products. This paper aims to research and analyze a problem with a logistics information system through case study and to suggest a logistics information system with RFID in place adopted to eliminate problems such as damages, loss and defect rates.

  • 초음파는 액체 및 고체의 매질 속에서도 그 전달 특성이 우수하여 수중 물체의 감지, 지질 조사 자원탐사뿐만 아니라, 의학 분야에서도 널리 사용되고 있다. 물체유동정보 측정방식에는 연속파를 이용한 도플러식과 펄스 신호를 이용한 도플러는 거리 분해능이 좋으므로 깊이에 따른 속도 정보를 쉽게 얻을 수 있는 장점이 있으나, 수신되는 도플러 신호가 탐촉자의 특성과 매질 속에서의 전파특성 등에 의하여 송신된 신호와 파형이 다르고 복잡한 주파수 특성을 가지므로 연속파에서와 같이 도플러 주파수를 직접 측정하기 곤란하다. 도플러 주파수를 검출하기 위하여 여러 방법이 개발되어 있으나, 측정거리와 측정속도의 제약과 더불어, 실시간(real time) 처리에 의한 분포적 측정이 어려운 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 시간 영역에서 국소 데이터를 이용하여 펄스 신호의 위상을 정의하고 실시간에서 펄스 신호를 위상으로 변환하는 신호 처리법을 제안하였다. 또한 이 신호 처리법을 응용하여 측정 범위의 위상 곡선에서 위상 차를 계산함으로써 평균 가속도와 유동속도정보를 분포적으로 얻을 수 있는 새로운 펄스 도플러 기법을 제안하였으며, 모델 신호를 만들어 제안된 방법의 유용성을 검토하였다.

소형선박 선외기용 전기동력 시스템 연구 (A Study on Electric Power Propulsion System for Small Ship Outboard)

  • Recently, the outboard engine system of internal combustion engine is widely used in the field of small ship propulsion. However, the internal combustion engine has serious problems of energy depletion and environmental problems, so electric propulsion methods are being studied. In this paper, we have developed important motors and controllers of electric propulsion system for small marine outboard motors. The motor design was performed through the motor characteristics analysis method, and the 30Kw system was developed through the BEMF processing circuit and the power conversion circuit by the embedded microprocessor. This study was carried out through government supported projects and achieved quantitative targets through accredited institutions.

최적화와 분할 방법을 이용한 항공기 표적 할당 연구 (A Study on Aircraft-Target Assignment Problem in Consideration of Deconfliction)

  • This paper investigates an aircraft-target assignment problem in consideration of deconfliction. The aircraft-target assignment problem is the problem to assign available aircrafts and weapons to targets that should be attacked, where the objective function is to minimize the total expected damage of aircrafts. Deconfliction is the way of dividing airspaces for aircraft flight to ensure the safety while performing the mission. In this paper, mixed integer programming model is suggested, where it considers deconfliction between aircrafts. However, the suggested MIP model is non-linear and limited to get solution for large size problem. The 2-phase decomposition model is suggested for efficiency and computation, where in the first phase target area is divided into sectors for deconfliction and in the second phase aircrafts and weapons are assigned to given targets for minimizing expected damage of aircraft. The proposed decomposition model shows outperforms the model developed for comparison in the computational experiment.

운영기반의 철도시스템 RAMS 성능 요구사항 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on Operational Optimization Based RAMS Performance Requirements Design of Railway Systems)

  • Recently the design of railway systems have been performed, based on the analysis of operational conditions and service targets, it is to optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of system operation. Many RAMS requirements have been developed to transform operation conditions into system design characteristics. However, our railway industry has not actived the application of RAMS into system design performance. According to short of RAMS application, many technologies that have been developed are not only applied the existing systems that is operating, but also have not succeed to apply for new systems. In order to design the effective and efficient railway systems that are optimized to operation conditions and service targets, a systems approach and RAMS management are necessary in railway development, operation and maintenance. Therefore, in this study, the RAMS performance requirement design methods are discussed. the allocation methods from system level to each devices of subsystems.
