Implementation of Self-Management Technique to Improve Supervisory Behaviors at a Construction Site (건설 현장 관리자들의 안전 관리 행동을 향상시키기 위한 자기-관리 기법의 도입)

  • Reviews indicated that supervisory feedback provided to workers is the most effective intervention to change performance in organizational settings. However, supervisors themselves hardly receive feedback on their own behaviors. This study implemented self-management technique to improve supervisory behaviors at a construction site. Self-management in the current study consisted of goal setting, self-monitoring and providing reinforcers for two supervisory behaviors; (1) conducting safety observations and (2) interacting with workers for safety improvement. Two supervisors severed as participants. An AB within-group design was adopted. After baseline (A), self-management technique was implemented (B). Results suggested that self-management was effective in increasing the two supervisory behaviors. Moreover, the increased supervisory behaviors were associated with improvement in workers' safety performance.

  • This study implemented self-management technique to improve supervisory behaviors at a construction site.   • The related industrial technologies are also being developed in medicine, education, the military, transportation, process management, security management and information technology industries due to a rapid progress in telecommunications technology. The supervisory remote control system is based upon telecommunications technology. The supervisory remote control systems are used in various ways such as city gas, water supply and drainage, environment, power, communication and device control fields. The supervisory remort control system became a solution with complex systems and important technologies in electricity, city gas filed that require safety management skills. The supervisory remote control system as a special technology has a lot of practical applications. In this paper, Let me examine the present status of remort control system applications and present development plans and alternatives in city-gas industrial technology.

  • It is judged that there could be certainty in every process of analyzing environmental samples using Liquid Scintillation Counter. Therefore, this study focuses on quantitative evaluation on uncertainty in an effort to analyze comparatively accurately environmental samples. For this, after parameters which can have an effect on uncertainty was derived, the evaluation on each parameter was tamed out. The results of analysis of each parameter showed that the effect according to the weight difference of Teflon vial did not appear, and that standard deviations of SQP(E) averages reached saturation point at $75{\sim}90$ sec at the result of making increases step by step the irradiation time of External standard, and that values measured by repeat method produces good results compared with replicate. Also, conclusion was derived that analysis on sample after it is left in cold and dark room at least above 1,000 minutes have to be carried out, and the result of carrying out verification on results measured as well as equipment itself using radioactivity-error-analysis and chi-square test, resonable result was derived.

  • Human works shift its roll from physical condition to the system supervisory control task In this paper safety-presentation configuration is discussed instead of well-known fault-warning configuration. Of paticular interest was the personal factor which include the cognitive process. Through a performance between each person information processing(d') and decision process($\beta$) was pointed out to explain the sensitivity of personal cognitive process.   • There are growing demands for improving the patient safety and the effectiveness of medical services through device connectivity and interoperability. However, integration through networking might greatly increase the complexity of the system if it is not properly designed, jeopardizing patient safety. In this paper, we codify safe medical device interaction patterns, and exploit them for the low complexity design and safety analysis of networked supervisory medical systems. We implement the proposed approach as a plug-in of Architecture Analysis and Description Language (AADL). Our implementation enables the modeling and safety analysis of medical devices and their interactions before actual development.

  • In this paper. we offer a new monitoring system that controls all of the windfar. it can also apply use general wind turbine systems and real meteorological tower. We propose a hierarchical releiable monitoring system connected by wireless communication channels between monitoring host computer and modular slave measuring subsystems. Our system has two hierarchical subsystems: slave measuring systems, and supervisory host computer. We design and implement that the slave measuring subsystems is placed in meteorological tower and wind turbines, and the supervisory host computer in safety zone, The micro-controller in slave measuring system is duplicated using cold-standby method for reliability. The host computer and slave system constructs a feedback system, with wireless communication channel between them. For monitoring and command function, the supervisory computer is implemented with a Personal Computer using graphic user interface. Consequently. we can get a reliable but economic system.

Evaluation and Consideration on Environmental Radiation Analysis of Yeong-Gwang Nuclear Power Plant Site Inside&Outside(2000~2009 year) (영광원전 부지 내.외부의 환경방사능 분석에 대한 평가 및 고찰(2000~2009년))

  • Yeong-Gwang N.P.P Private Environment Supervisory Organization analyzed over 3,000 samples including 10 marine and 24 land samples from the year 2,000 to 2009. According to the results of the analysis, artificial nuclides that resulted from the effect of Yeong-Gwang Nuclear Power Plant operations were not detected in most samples. However, from the rain and seawater samples, which were taken from inside the plants such as the intake, the discharge and the observatory, $^3H$ was detected although it was below the regulation level. The $^3H$ concentration detected in the rain taken from the observatory, by the yearly average criterion, was 30.5~40.0 $Bq{\cdot}L^{-1}$, which is around 20 times the $^3H$ concentration detected in the surroundings of the power plants, but it is 0.1% of the regulation level of 40,000 $Bq{\cdot}L^{-1}$. Also, $^3H$ concentration detected in the seawater taken from the intake and the discharge, by the yearly average criterion, was 2.75~17.8$Bq{\cdot}L^{-1}$, which means the concentration detected in the discharge is about 140~280% higher than that detected in the intake except the year 2006. Based on these results, it was determined that, although lower than the regulation level, the $^3H$ in gas and liquid form detected in the rain and seawater sampled from the observatory and the discharge was released into the environment from the power plants. Therefore, regular monitoring and analysis is required on the level of $^3H$ in the observatory and the discharge.

Development of Driving Control Algorithm for Vehicle Maneuverability Performance and Lateral Stability of 4WD Electric Vehicle (4WD 전기 차량의 선회 성능 및 횡방향 안정성 향상을 위한 주행 제어 알고리즘 개발)

  • This paper describes development of 4 Wheel Drive (4WD) Electric Vehicle (EV) based driving control algorithm for severe driving situation such as icy road or disturbance. The proposed control algorithm consists three parts : a supervisory controller, an upper-level controller and optimal torque vectoring controller. The supervisory controller determines desired dynamics with cornering stiffness estimator using recursive least square. The upper-level controller determines longitudinal force and yaw moment using sliding mode control. The yaw moment, particularly, is calculated by integration of a side-slip angle and yaw rate for the performance and robustness benefits. The optimal torque vectoring controller determines the optimal torques each wheel using control allocation method. The numerical simulation studies have been conducted to evaluated the proposed driving control algorithm. It has been shown from simulation studies that vehicle maneuverability and lateral stability performance can be significantly improved by the proposed driving controller in severe driving situations.

An Empirical Study on the Safety Climate and Worker's Safe Work Behavior in Semiconductor Industry Related Work Site in Korea (한국 반도체관련 산업의 사업장 안전 분위기와 근로자들의 안전행동에 관한 실증적 연구)

  • The Semiconductor industry in Korea has achieved a great contribution to the growth of its economy for the last 20 years with its product export ranked to #1 nowadays. However, the working environment in semiconductor industry is always exposed to a potential risk of critical safety issue for workers with many kinds of utilities used such as toxic chemicals, gases, high vacuum and high voltages of electricity. This study is focused on empirical research to find out the factors on safety climate and to examine the relationships of safety climate and safe work behaviour in the work site of Korea semiconductor industry. As a result of simulation, a strong positive relationships and safe work behaviour have been identified in this study. Its result and implications has been discussed and suggested further studies on its limitation from this study.
