Currently, the consumer pattern is directed to small quantity and high variety these days. World market is led by technological innovations and changes rapidly. To survive in this environment, the raising of small and medium enterprises is highly desirable. In the context of nationwide restructuring, competitive medium and small industries which are in good financial status should lead the nation's economy. But general ignorance of the safety issues could lead to a miss management of this industry in this field. In this study, actual condition and improvement of safety management are as follows; We have to 1) find out the factors which endangers this industry, and set a proper guideline for safety management. 2) encourage safety management of these industries by themselves, and advertise and provide technical support for using PC and internet. 3) set a higher standard of safety issue when accrediting a prospective medium and small industry, and have a firm control of this issue once accredited. 4) supply more governmental financial aids to terms of safety issues for medium and small industries.

Probabilistic safety assessments (PSA) have been used for several decades to visualize the risk level of commercial nuclear power plants (NPPs). Since the role of a human reliability analysis (HRA) is to provide human error probabilities for safety critical tasks to support PSA, PSA quality is strongly affected by HRA quality. Therefore, it is important to understand the underlying limitations or problems of HRA techniques. For this reason, this study conducted a survey among 14 subject matter experts who represent the HRA community of domestic Korean NPPs. As a result, five significant HRA issues were identified: (1) providing a technical basis for the K-HRA (Korean HRA) method, and developing dedicated HRA methods applicable to (2) diverse external events to support Level 1 PSA, (3) digital environments, (4) mobile equipment, and (5) severe accident management guideline tasks to support Level 2 PSA. In addition, an HRA method to support multi-unit PSA was emphasized because it plays an important role in the evaluation of site risk, which is one of the hottest current issues. It is believed that creating such a catalog of prioritized issues will be a good indication of research direction to improve HRA and therefore PSA quality.

As of March 2017, fake news is largely focused on political issues. Outside the country, main issues of the fake news have been a hot topic in the US presidential election in 2016 and emerged as a new political and social problem in countries like Germany and France. In Korea, issues of the fake news are also linked with political issues such as presidential impeachment and prosecution, impeachment quota, early election, etc. This phenomenon has recently led to the production and spread of fake news related to safety and security issues as well as political issues in connection with various methods of generating articles and sharing information. As a result, there is a high possibility that the information will be transformed into information that can cause considerable confusion to the public. Therefore, the recognition of such problems means that it is important at this point to consider the related situation analysis and effective countermeasures. To do this, we tried to make accurate and meaningful analysis for the diagnosis, analysis, forecasting and management of issues utilizing Big Data. As a result, it is found that the fake news is continuously generated in relation to the safety and security issue as well as the political issue in the South Korea, and differs from the general form occurring outside the country.

Construction industry is considered as the most hazardous industry due to its unique nature. Safety and quality management are essential to control hazards and improve success in project implementation. This paper focuses on evaluating the crucial factors influencing safety and quality management in construction projects. In order to achieve this, the qualitative and quantitative approaches were used for data collection. The findings of this study reveal the crucial safety factors as management commitment, safety awareness of top management practices/ procedures/ reviews, and errors in judgement or carelessness. Project supervision, employee involvement/ altitude, and expertise knowledge/ training were considered as the crucial quality factors influencing safety and quality management. The study shows that safety and quality issues cannot be overlooked therefore proper implementation is paramount to achieve project success.

Many developed countries use risk based safety management system. Currently many research efforts are made for the application of risk concept in safety management within the boundary of the railway safety act 2005. But results of these efforts can be applied around 2008 due to many background data and analysis techniques. For the prompt and efficient construction of mid and long term safety plan$(2006\~2010)$ various reports on safety issues and expert opinions are analysed in this study without risk analysis. Identification of railway safety issues are summarized and effective measure are proposed in this study.

This study includes definitions and major issues relating to product safety, and reviews about product safety laws of Korea and of other countries. In addition, this study suggests several ideas for a future governmental policy concerning product safety and the government policies to guide in securing consumers' safety of products. First, we need to set up consumer safety policies and laws dealing with complex consumer safety issues and to integrate existing laws for the safety of products. Second, opening a consumer safety agency and training workers who have relation to the safety policy, as a profession, are necessary. Third, it is required to redefine the product safety guidelines, strengthen the safety policy and to minimize safety regulations by the government directly. Fourth, each product of the safety management policies must be regularly evaluated and given feedback for improving its effectiveness. Fifth, information gathering, disclosing, and having a feedback system related to product safety should be rebuilt for the effective management of unsafe products. In addition, laws and the aims of product safety management being changed to focus on the consumers, control on imported products, collaboration with network and mutual-assistance systems of product safety-related agencies including international organizations and major countries and taking leading roles in the world are essential.

As global supply chain risks proliferate unpredictably, the high interdependence of port and logistics industry intensifies the risk burden. This study conducted fundamental research to explore diverse safety issues in domestic ports. Utilizing news article data about Busan Port, we employed LDA topic modeling and time-series linear regression to understand key safety trends. Over the past 30 years, Busan Port faced nine major safety issues-maritime safety, import cargo inspection, labor strikes, and natural disasters emerged cyclically. Major port safety issues in Busan Port are primarily characterized by an unpredictable nature, falling under socio-environmental and natural phenomena types, indicating a significant impact of global uncertainty. Therefore, systematic policies need to be formulated based on identified port safety issues to enhance port safety in Busan Port. Additionally, there is a need to strengthen the resilience of port safety for unpredictable risk situations. In conclusion, advanced research activities are necessary to promote port safety enhancement in response to dynamically changing social conditions.

Unlike a general building high-rise buildings itself has a kind of risk. In this study, the risk of a number of high-rise buildings have fire safety management of the particular risks associated with looking for ways to minimize focused. Theoretical Study of the United States since the collapse of the WTC buildings, and be the center of the authentic country was. outside of the high-rise building fire safety and related issues, and measures were based on the theory of reference. Issues include voluntary arson. disaster management, building codes and fire regulations of the discrepancies, such as fire safety aspects are explained in terms of three kinds, and for it to take steps in the direction suggested an alternative for high-rise buildings. Although differences of opinion between departments will not be easy to fire and building regulations regarding conflicts of laws among other things, require immediate resolution, and high-rise buildings to create a standard for effective crisis management manual countermeasures will also be ensured.

For efficient and effective nuclear regulation, regulatory organizations must establish consistent and rigorous regulatory positions on safety matters. These positions should be based on high technical expertise and relevant ordinances, standards, and guidelines reflecting policy changes governing nuclear regulations. The Korea Institute of Nuclear Safety, a regulatory expert organization in Korea, has developed regulatory requirements, guidelines and analytical tools that provide regulatory technical bases for ensuring nuclear safety. The nuclear regulatory research also contributes to regulatory decision making by providing resolution for current and future safety issues. In this article, we introduce nuclear regulatory research and its main achievements in the past 10 years. Also, suggested here are future directions of nuclear regulatory research.

This paper presents the findings obtained from the investigation of fatal disasters occurred by small-sized construction firms which have been accepted as to provide lower safety performance other than large-sized construction enterprises and cause more than half of the safety accidents in average. The study identifies the current status of safety performance provided by the small-sized construction contractors in details, find the issues involved with lack of safety performance, and suggest the improvement measures derived from the findings. A survey questionnaire was administered to the construction contractors, which are listed in the database of Construction Association of Korea as to fall into rank between 501st and 1000th in construction capacity. Safety issues such as the performance of safety management system, safety control structure, safety cost relative to safety control, education devoted to safety improvement, usage of safety garments or individual protective tools, and activities to maintain safety performance on site, etc were investigated from the study.
