다층구조 Water Gel Barrier의 농도변화에 따른 폭발특성에 대한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Studies of the Explosion Characteristics by Varying Concentrations of a Multi Layered Water Gel Barrier)

  • Experimental studies have been carried out to investigate characteristics of gas explosion using a multi layered water gel barrier in a vented explosion chamber. The chamber is consisted of 1600 mm in length, with a square cross-section of $100{\times}100mm^2$. The gel concentration of inner layer of MLWGB ranged from 10% to 90% with intervals of 10% by weight of gel. Displacement of the MLWGB was photographed with a measured using a high-speed video camera, and pressure development was measured using a data acquisition system. It was found that MLWGBs with 10 ~ 20% inner layer concentrations were ruptured during the explosions. As the concentrations of inner layer increased from 30% to 90%, the barriers were not ruptured. As the gel concentrations of the inner layer increased, the displacement increased toward the chamber exit and the pressure decreased for the ruptured barriers. It was found that the pressure attenuation obtained from the MLWGB was higher than that of the single water gel barrier. For the cases of non-ruptured barriers, the pressure inside the chamber less increased with increasing gel concentrations of the inner layer. It was also found that the displacement moved back into the chamber for non-ruptured MLWGBs, and it was sensitive to the gel concentrations.

BF 인증을 위한 경사로 설치기준 개선에 대한 연구 (A Study on Improvement of Ramp Installation Standard for BF Certification)

  • Purpose: The ramp is an important facility for the barrier free access and vertical circulation of users of various buildings, including users of walker, wheelchair users, stroller users, and baggage carriers. The installation standards for ramps in Korea have various problems during construction and BF certification. It is necessary to improve the criteria for ensuring practical mobility and safety. Method: Korean standard, International Standard(ISO 21542, 2011), German Standard(DIN 18040-1, 2010), Austrian Standard(OENORM B 1600, 2017), Swiss Standard(Norm SIA 500, 2009), Canadian Standard(Building Standards Guide, 2017), American Standard(ADA Standards, 2010) were investigated and analyzed. A comprehensive improvement of the ramp installation standards is proposed. Results: The ramp is a necessary facility for the barrier free access and vertical circulation of the disabled. It shall be installed with comprehensive consideration of the appropriate slope of the ramp, the distance of the continuous slope, the handle and upstand for pedestrian safety. In order to improve convenience, setting the proper slope and limiting the length of the slope are very important, and improvements are required to the levels presented by international and foreign standards. The unclear standards of Korean law and BF certification standards should be clearly improved so as not to be misinterpreted in construction and Barrier Free Certification. Implication: International and foreign standards should be reviewed to ensure practical mobility and safety. And comprehensive improvement measures should be presented through continuous research.

SD를 활용한 성과지향적 평가에 관한 연구: 자치단체 합동평가 재난안전분야를 중심으로 (A Study on the outcome-oriented evaluation using System Dynamics: Focused on the Field of Disaster and Safety Management in the Combined Evaluation of Local Governments)

  • This study is firstly aiming at diagnosing the present problems of evaluating the performance, especially in the field of disaster and safety management, of LGA (Local Government Authorities) in Korea. The study also deals with developing alternatives to solve a series of barrier factors revealed during the evaluation process using System Dynamics. This paper therefore presents literature review including the official documents published by the government and the performance evaluation studies of LGA. Moreover the authors analyze the current practice of the CELG (Combined Evaluation of Local Governments) as performance management, address and map a series of barrier factors in the CELG process to elaborate the CLDs (Causal-Loop Diagrams) and find solutions using system thinking with the CLDs. According to the analysis results, the core barrier factors to overcome is lack of proactive indicators/indices in the current practice of the CLEG. The authors therefore recommend to develop more proactive indicators that leads to avoid difficulties in measuring the LGA output, as well as to lessen the burden in competition for rankings and goal of the displaced.

  • To verify the performance of roadside safety facilities, strength and occupant protection test are performed by evaluation criteria. Strength test use a truck and occupant protection test use a sedan. Strength perfomance is analyzed pass rate by post lateral resistance of the safety barrier. Occupant protection performance is analyzed from THIV(Theoretical Head Impact Velocity) and PHD(Post-impact Head Deceleration) by crash cushion test.

  • 폭발챔버에서 Agar gel barrier의 폭발완화 특성을 조사하기 위하여 실험적 연구를 수행하였다. 단면적 $100{\times}100mm^2$, 길이 1400 mm를 가지는 폭발챔버 그리고 폭발챔버의 개구부에 설치될 gel barrier의 고정을 위하여 $100{\times}100{\times}300mm^3$의 챔버를 제작하였다. Agar gel과 물을 혼합하여 4가지 서로 다른 농도(2, 3, 4, 5 %)를 가지는 agar gel barrier를 제조하여 실험변수로 사용하였다. 폭발과정 동안 gel displacement의 가시화를 위해 고속카메라 그리고 gel barrier 전 후단의 폭발압력 변화를 관찰하고자 압력획득시스템을 사용하였다. 실험결과, gel 농도 증가에따라 gel의 파열시간 및 최대 폭발압력 도달시간이 지연되는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, gel 농도가 증가할 때 gelbarrier 전 후단에서의 폭발압력 완화율이 증가하는 경향으로 나타났다.

  • 폭발챔버에서 water gel barrier의 표면형상의 크기에 따른 폭발거동 특성을 조사하기 위하여 실험적 연구를 수행하였다. 단면적 $100{\times}100\;mm^2$, 길이 1600 mm를 가지는 폭발챔버 그리고 점화원으로부터 각각 300 mm, 700 mm 및 1100 mm 떨어진 챔버 바닥면에 $100{\times}200\;mm^2$의 크기에 서로 다른 크기의 표면형상을 고려한 gel barrier를 설치할 수 있도록 제작하였다. 젤라틴 gel과 물을 혼합하여 4가지 크기의 표면형상을 가지는 water gel barrier를 제조하여 실험변수로 사용하였다. 폭발과정 동안 화염전파 과정을 가시화하기 위해 고속카메라 그리고 폭발압력 변화를 관찰하고자 압력획득시스템을 사용하였다. 실험결과, gel barrier의 표면형상의 크기가 커질수록 화염전파과정 및 최대 폭발압력 도달시간은 빠르게 진행되는 것으로 나타났으며, 화염속도 및 폭발압력 또한 증가하는 경향으로 나타났다.

소형차도로 방호울타리 형식선정을 위한 충돌계수 및 방호울타리 높이선정 연구 (A Study of Impact Factors and Barrier Height of Compact Car Road for Decision of Barrier Type)

  • 본 연구에서는 소형차도로 방호울타리 형식선정의 필수요소인 충돌계수 분석 및 방호울타리 높이 선정을 위해 현재의 기준을 적용하는 과정에서 생긴 문제점을 파악하여 개선점을 제시하고 이를 해외기준과 비교분석하여 방호울타리의 형식결정을 위한 기준을 제시하였다. 이를 위해 소형차관련 사고사례분석을 실시하였고, 사고사례를 토대로 방호울타리의 형식선정에 중요인자인 충돌각도, 충돌차량, 충돌속도를 비교 분석 및 소형차 방호울타리의 소요높이를 결정하였다. 충돌각도의 경우 편도 2차로 고속도로 사고사례를 분석하여 유럽 RISER 연구 결과와 비교하여 상향조정의 필요성을 도출하였다. 충돌차량의 경우 경차, 소형승용차, 중형 및 대형승용차, 승용차(SUV), 승합차 및 소형 트럭으로 나누어 분석을 실시하였으며, 충돌사고소형차 사고누적율에 기반한 차량중량 및 충돌속도를 회귀분석하였으며 수도권고속도로 누적통행비율을 감안 충돌중량을 결정하였다. 또한 그 결과를 토대로 소형차도로 방호울타리 높이를 계산하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 향후 소형차도로 형식선정에 중요한 인자가 된다.

  • 피난안전성의 정량적인 평가를 위해 고려되는 정량적요소로는 피난거리와 피난장해를 대표적으로 들 수 있으며, 선행 연구에서 이론적인 증명과 단순모델 및 실재평면모델을 이용하여 일반성과 적용성에 대하여 검토되었다. 그러나 보다 현실적인 평가수법의 개발을 위해서는 피난경로상에 산재해 있는 다양한 피난장해에 대한 종합적인 검토가 가능해야 하며, 이를 위해서는 각 피난장해와 피난자의 피난조건이 피난안전성에 미치는 영향력에 대한 정량화가 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 피난장해와 피난자의 피난조건에 대한 이론적 검토를 통하여 피난경로상에 예상되는 다양한 피난장해의 정량화 함수를 도출하고, 선행연구에서 제시된 피난안전성 평가수법에 대입하고, 단순모델을 이용하여 피난자의 피난조건과 피난장해를 동시에 고려한 평가법의 적용성과 타당성에 대한 검토를 행하는 것으로, 보다 현실적인 피난안전성에 대한 정량적인 평가수법개발로의 연구적 발전을 도모한다.

Study on the Evaluation of Performance for Pitch Pine Round Timbers as Safety Barrier Beam Members

  • In this study, bending test was conducted as beam members in timber roadside safety barrier. The flexural properties of pitch pine round timber according to the diameters were evaluated. And then grading based on the growth characteristics applied to choosing the pitch pine round timbers which is met the criteria of guideline (Japan, 2008). MOR of round timber 160 mm is higher than other specimens from 100 mm to 140 mm. Because of lower juvenile wood ratio and higher density. The MOE of round timber is decreased according to the increment of diameter. Only 32% of the specimens has passed the limitations. Performance of pitch pine round timbers has confirmed to suitability roadside safety beam members according to the guideline (Japan, 2008).

  • Photo-oxidation is one of the main causes of food deterioration of great variety of foods, such as dairy products, nuts, meat products, and wine. It causes a loss of both nutritional value and sensorial quality of products and may even leads to the formation of toxic compounds. Active packaging for food and beverages has been investigated and developed with embedding light absorbers or blocking materials into the plastics. In recent years, several novel light barrier materials have been proposed as an alternative option for different applications. This article reviews the up-to-date technology in light absorber and blocking material with special emphasis on chemical compound and mechanism. Inorganic, organic, hybrid organic-inorganic, and natural light absorbers were scoped. The challenges and future perspectives of light barrier materials are also discussed.
