Examining Importance of Urban Rotorcraft Operations Using Analytic Hierarchy Process

  • This study aims to determine the importance of each factor considered when operating a rotorcraft in a city. After identifying factors that could affect urban air mobility, we reviewed the influencing factors by applying an analytic hierarchy process (AHP). Level 1 classifies the essential factors of the urban operation of rotorcraft in nominal and off-nominal situations. The factors corresponding to the characteristics of each were composed of lower levels, such as Levels 2 and 3. Using this, the importance of influencing factors was analyzed and the most important factors were determined. The most influential factors of the urban operation of rotorcraft included engine failure, fire situations, and vehicle safety. Accordingly, an environment that can guarantee safe operation by considering the most influential factors in advance in an actual operation stage must be constructed.

  • 기업의 운영에서 안전한 생산 근로 환경은 중요한 요소이며, 공급 사슬 관리상의 물류기업에도 필수적이다. 본 연구는 대형 물류기업과 계약을 체결하여 거래관계를 지속하고 있는 국내 중소 물류기업의 관점에서, 안전 분위기와 안전 예방 활동이 안전 행동과 긍정적인 관계가 있음을 확인하였다. 아울러, 앞선 긍정적인 관계에 규제 불확실성과 경쟁 불확실성의 조절적인 역할도 실증적으로 살펴보았다.

  • The last twenty-five years have seen dramatic improvements in and widespread use of IT to describe and document the work of the many disciplines involved in construction projects. Iran is a developing country and construction is a basic factor of developing too. Hence, the country needs to a special programming for construction of buildings, structures and infrastructures. Many parts of Iran are located in highly seismic zones and structures must be constructed safe e.g., according to recent seismic codes. In this paper opportunities of IT in construction industry of Iran are investigated in three categories. Pre-construction phase, construction phase and earthquake disaster mitigation are studied. Studies show that information technology can be used in these items for reducing the losses and increasing the benefits. Both government and private sectors must contribute to this strategic project for obtaining the best result.

  • Construction is one of the most hazardous industries due to its unique nature. Recent occurrences of highly publicised and criticized construction site accidents have highlighted the immediate need for the construction industry to address safety hazards. Safety used to be addressed as an isolated issue in the past, but the problem of safety is an emergent property of a system. In general, it seems that both industrial practitioners and government officials have tended to address safety by focusing on technical aspects and looking for immediate causes of accidents after they have taken place. The objective of this paper is to examine issues and critical factors that affect the safety standards from a holistic point of view. The job of making worksites safe should not just fall squarely on the contractors but should be shared by all parties in the value chain of construction activities.

Sorted compressive sensing for reconstruction of failed in-core detector signals

  • Self-Powered Neutron Detectors(SPNDs) are used to calculate core power distributions, an essential factor in the safe operation of nuclear power plants. Some detectors may fail during normal operation, and signals from failed detectors are isolated from intact signals. The calculated detailed power distribution accuracy depends on the number of available detector signals. Failed detectors decrease the operating margin by enlarging the power distribution measurement error. Therefore, a thorough reconstruction of the failed detector signals is critical. This note suggests a compressive sensing based methodology that rationally reconstructs the readings of failed detectors. The methodology significantly improves reconstruction accuracy by sorting signals and removing high-frequency components from conventional compressive sensing methodology.

Fracture analysis for nozzle cracks in nuclear reactor pressure vessel using FCPAS

  • This study addresses cracks and fracture problems in engineering structures that may cause significant challenges and safety concerns, with a focus on pressure vessels in nuclear power plants. Comprehensive parametric three-dimensional mixed mode fracture analyses for inclined and deflected nozzle corner cracks with various crack shape aspect ratios and depth ratios in nuclear reactor pressure vessels are carried out. Stress intensity factor (SIF) solutions are obtained using FRAC3D, which is part of Fracture and Crack Propagation Analysis System (FCPAS), employing enriched finite elements along the crack front. Also, improved empirical equations are developed to allow the determination of mixed mode SIFs, KI, KII, and KIII, for any values of the parameters considered in the study. This study provides practical solutions to assess the remaining life and fail-safe conditions of nuclear reactors by providing accurate SIF determination.

식생활 라이프스타일 유형이 다이어트 도시락 선택속성의 중요도에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Food-related Lifestyle on the Importance of Selected Attributes of Diet Lunch Box)

  • The study subjects were 302 adult males and females aged more than 20 years living in the metropolitan area of South Korea. This study was conducted to obtain baseline data to establish proper development and marketing strategies by examining the effects of food-related lifestyles on the importance of diet, purchasing behavior towards diet lunch boxes, and their selected attributes such as menu, packaging, and services. With respect to food-related lifestyle, a cluster analysis was performed by using five factors such as convenience factor, health factor, safety factor, taste factor, and economy factor obtained from factor analysis to derive the economy type, the taste and economy type, the convenience type, the safety type, and the health type. As a result, the respondents regarded 'food hygiene (4.59)', 'freshness (4.47)', 'taste (4.28)', and 'nutrient balance (4.19)' as the selected attributes of diet lunch box menus. Moreover, the importance of diet lunch box menus (${\beta}=0.179$) was increased with increasing safety orientation. 'Shelf life label (4.42)' was the most important selected attribute of diet lunch boxes, followed by 'ingredient label (4.19)', 'nutrition facts label (4.16)', and 'indication of origin (4.15)'. In particular, the importance of packaging for diet lunch boxes (${\beta}=0.203$) was increased with increasing safety orientation. With respect to the selected attributes of services in purchasing diet lunch boxes, 'provision of personalized menus (4.07)' was the most important, and the importance of services for diet lunch box (${\beta}=0.160$) was increased with increasing taste and economy orientation. Based on the above results, the respondents gave importance to the selected attributes related to food safety and health such as hygiene and, freshness. In addition, they also placed emphasis on hygiene and safe factors such as shelf life, ingredients, and nutrition facts labels. Therefore, it is considered necessary to develop diet lunch boxes by taking these factors into account. Furthermore, in services for diet lunch boxes, it is considered necessary to establish a service system capable of providing consumers with specialized menu or nutrition counseling according to the food-related lifestyle for their proper health management. Particularly, because consumers place emphasis on both food hygiene and safety, and health, it is considered necessary to thoroughly manage hygiene, safety, and nutrition in menu or packaging so that it is possible to enhance customer satisfaction by considering these selected attributes in greater detail.

후면 덧쌓기에 따른 농업용 저수지 제체의 안정성 평가 (Safety evaluation of agricultural reservoir embankment according to backside extension)

  • This study was carried out for safety evaluation, the practical application and improvement of design method of the agricultural reservoir embankment according to backside extension. Seepage analysis, slope stability analysis and finite element analysis were performed for steady state and transient conditions. Also, the pore water pressure, seepage quantity, safety factor and stress-strain behavior according to high water level and rapid drawdown were compared and analyzed. The pore water pressure at contact region between backside extension and old embankment was kept high after rapid drawdown. Therefore, backside extension is recommended that design method is required to be improved and reinforced more than the others raising embankment. The hydraulic gradients before and after backside extension showed high value at the base of the core, but they showed stable state at the upstream slope and downstream slope. The seepage quantity per 1 day and the leakage per 100 m for the steady state and transient conditions appeared to be safe against the piping. The safety factor of slope stability showed high at the steady state, and transient conditions did not show differences depending on the rapid drawdown. The safety factor was appeared high at the upstream slope before backside extension and downstream slope after extension. The excess pore water pressure for steady state and transient conditions showed negative(-) at the upstream slope, it was small at the downstream slope. The mean effective stress (p') showed high at the base of the core and to be wild distribution after the extension. The displacement after extension showed 0.02-0.06 m in the upstream slope, the maximum shear strain after extension was smaller than that before extension.

부산 관광산업의 세계화를 위한 Design Service Model 구축에 관한 연구 - 관광이미지 평가를 중심으로- (A study on Design Service Model for globalize the tourist industry in Busan - Focus on the estimation of tourist images -)

  • 본 연구는 부산 관광이미지 평가를 위해 진행하였다. 부산시 관광산업 현황 조사와 해양 도시에 적합한 관광 상품의 조건을 찾아보기 위하여 부산시민과 외국인 그리고 타 지역인을 중심으로 요인분석을 실시하였다. 조사결과, 부산시민과 외부인은 부산의 이미지를 비슷하게 생각하는 것으로 조사되었다. 외부인에게 있어서 부산의 이미지는 해안가 주변과 관련된 관광과 숙박을 부산의 매력으로 생각하였고 부산 시내의 다양한 볼거리, 쇼핑 등을 장점으로 뽑았다. 분석 결과를 종합해보면 부산시민은 진취적, 포근함, 활동성, 친숙함의 이미지로, 외국인은 포근함 쾌적함, 현대적, 풍부함의 이미지로, 타 지역인은 안심감, 번화함, 독특성, 친근함의 이미지로 인식하고 있었다. 위의 분류된 내용을 공통적 의미를 가진 8개의 요인으로 압축하고 부산시의 관광 관련 구성 요소와 항목간 관련성을 조사하였다. 조사결과 부산 관광산업과 관광 상품 개발을 위한 세부 항목으로는 '안심감', '쾌적성', '독특성'을 우선적으로 고려하며 '풍부함', '친근감', '활동성'을 높일 수 있는 방법을 찾는 것이 부산과 가장 잘 어울리는 관광 상품을 개발하는 방법으로 분석되었다.

불응성 가와사키병 환아에서 infliximab 사용 후 발생한 패혈증 (Gram-negative Septicemia after Infliximab Treatment in an Infant with Refractory Kawasaki Disease)

  • 최근 가와사키병에서 tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-alpha) blocker인 infliximab 단일 정주 요법이 불응성 가와사키병 환자들에게 유용한 치료제로 여겨지고 있다. 장기적인 TNF-alpha blocker 사용이 기회감염의 위험을 증가시킬 수 있지만, 가와사키병 환자들에게 infliximab 사용이 심각한 부작용을 초래하지 않으며 안전하게 사용된 증례들이 보고된 바 있다. 불응성 가와사키병을 앓고 있는 5개월 된 영아에서 infliximab (5 mg/kg) 단일 정주 요법을 사용하였고 가와사키 증상이 호전되었으나 infliximab 치료 후 Acinetobacter lwoffii에 의한 패혈증이 발생하였다. 그래서 저자들은 불응성 가와사키병을 앓은 영아에서 infliximab 치료 후 발생한 패혈증의 첫 사례를 보고하며 infliximab 치료 선택에 있어 기회 감염의 위험성에 대해 고려할 것을 당부하는 바이다.
