We present a theoretical formulation of diffusion process on solid surface based on multidimensional transition state theory (TST). Surface diffusion of single adatom results from hopping processes on corrugated potential surface and is affected by surface vibrations of surface atoms. The rate of rare events such as hopping between lattice sites can be calculated by transition state theory. In order to include the interactions of the adatom with surface vibrations, it is assumed that the coordinates of adatom are coupled to the bath of harmonic oscillators whose frequencies are those of surface phonon modes. When nearest neighbor surface atoms are considered, we can construct Hamiltonians which contain terms for interactions of adatom with surface vibrations for the well minimum and the saddle point configurations, respectively. The escape rate constants, thus the surface diffusion parameters, are obtained by normal mode analysis of the force constant matrix based on the Hamiltonian. The analysis is applied to the diffusion coefficients of W, Ir, Pt and Ta atoms on the bcc(110) plane of W in the zero-coverage limit. The results of the calculations are encouraging considering the limitations of the model considered in the study.
We examined the quality characteristics of obtaining the optimal curing conditions for black garlic extract (BGE) added mackerel by using response surface methodology (RSM). The condition of RSM was included in 13 experimental points using two dependent variables: concentration of BGE (2.6~12.5 brix, X1) and curing time of BGE (17.58~102.42 min, X2). An assessment was conducted with four replicates on three independent variables: volatile basic amine (VBN, Y1), thiobarbituric acid (TBA, Y2), and shear force (Y3). The minimum content of VBN was 1.625 mg% at 3.17 brix, for 80.5 min. This was obtained when the BGE concentration was lower and the curing time was longer. The content of the TBA was 3.13~12.24 MA mg/kg at experiment range and the stationary point was at saddle point. Therefore, by using ridge analysis, the minimum point of TBA was 2.414 MA mg/kg at 3.5 brix for 84.4 min. The truth coefficient of the BGE concentration and curing time were 2.9 brix and 75.1 min, respectively, with a shear force ($120.764cm/kg^2$) shown at maximum point. The optimum Hunter color range was estimated from the lowest TBA value. The optimum range of the L color was 39.16~40.26, a and b color were 4.40~4.88 and 12.35~13.20, respectively.
This study was conducted to monitor the yields of useful substances extracted from Inonotus obliquus. Optimization of ultrasonic-assisted extraction process was carried out by using response surface methodology under different extraction conditions. A central composite design was applied to investigate the effects of independent variables such as extraction time ($X_1$), ethanol concentration ($X_2$) and extraction temperature ($X_3$) on dependent variables such as soluble solid yield ($Y_1$), total phenol contents ($Y_2$), total flavonoid contents ($Y_3$) and browning color($Y_4$). Soluble solid yield was affected by ethanol concentration and extraction temperature. The maximum soluble solid yield was 18.02% at 20.47 min ($X_1$), 42.85% ($X_2$) and $69.57^{\circ}C$ ($X_3$) in saddle point. Total phenol contents were highly affected by ethanol concentration and extraction temperature. The maximum total phenol contents were 71.57mg GAE/g at 21.60min ($X_1$), 45.19% ($X_2$), $69.68^{\circ}C$ ($X_3$). The electron donating ability was affected by extraction temperature and extraction time. Total flavonoid contents were affected by only extraction temperature. The maximum total flavonoid contents were 35.98 mg RE/g at 22.53min ($X_1$), 46.37% ($X_2$), $69.56^{\circ}C$ ($X_3$) in saddle point. The browning color was highly affected by extraction time, ethanol concentration and extraction temperature. The maximum browning color was at 22.00 min ($X_1$), 46.89% ($X_2$), $69.71^{\circ}C$ ($X_3$) in saddle point. As a result, the optimum extraction conditions were predicted; extraction time of 21.50 min, ethanol concentration of 44.87% and extraction temperature of $69.635^{\circ}C$.
This study was performed to determine the optimal composition of Cheonggukjang added with garlic. The experiment utilized a central composite design (CCD). The evaluation was carried out by means of response surface methodology (RSM), which included 18 experimental points with three independent variables : the content of the garlic (1.3~9.7%, $X_1$), the steaming time of garlic (0~15.1 min, $X_2$), and the fermentation time of Cheonggukjang (48.2~71.8 h, $X_3$). The viscous substance ($Y_1$), acidity ($Y_2$), amino-type nitrogen ($Y_3$), ${\gamma}$-GTP activity ($Y_4$) and ABTS radical scavenging activity ($Y_5$). were assessed in four replicates with five dependent variables. The maximum content of the viscous substance was 13.02% at 6.53% ($X_1$), 6.81 min ($X_2$) and 55.18 h ($X_3$). The acidity was increased when the fermentation time was longer, and the minimum acidity point was 0.50% at 7.75% ($X_1$), 3.42 min ($X_2$) and 58.60 h ($X_3$), respectively. The content of the amino-type nitrogen at the experimental range studied was was 80.58~158.82 mg%, and the stationary point was at saddle point. Using ridge analysis, the maximum point was 156.97 mg% at 6.21% ($X_1$), 14.85 min ($X_2$) and 58.04 h($X_3$). The optimum conditions of ${\gamma}$-GTP activity was 5.73% ($X_1$), 6.99 min ($X_2$) and 57.96 h($X_3$), respectively, at the maximum point was 353.66 mU/mL. The maximum point of ABTS radical scavenging activity was 76.43% at 3.78% ($X_1$), 14.28 min ($X_2$) and 57.99 h($X_3$) at the saddle point, when the garlic steaming time was longer.
The ionic conductivity of NASICON solid electrolytes was simulated by using Monte Carlo Method (MCM). There were included two conduction paths: (1) Na1-Na2 and (2) Na1-Na2 including Na2-Na2. We assumed that mid-Na ions provde an additional driving force for Na mobile ions due to the interionic repulsion between Na1 and Na2 ions. The inflection point of vacancy availability factor, V has been shown at nearby x=2, the maximum mid-Na ions. The inflection point of vacancy availability factor, V has been shown at nearby x=2, the maximum mid-Na sites are occupied. The effective jump frequency factor, V has been shown at nearby x=2, the maximum mid-Na sites are occupied. The effective jump frequency factor, W increased rapidly with the composition at low temperature, but decreased at high temperature region. On Na1-Na2 conduction path, the minimum of charge correlation factor, fc and the maximum of $\sigma$T were appeared at x=2.0. this indicated that mid-Na ions affect on the high ionic conductivity behavior. At the whole range of NASICON composition, 1n $\sigma$T vs. 1/T* plots have been shown Arrhenius behavior but 1n (VWFc) vs. 1/T* have been shown the Arrhenius type tendency at x=2, which mid-Na is being the maximum. The results of MCM agreed with the experimental one when the chosen saddle point value was 6$\varepsilon$ : 3$\varepsilon$. Here the calculated characteristic parameter of materials, K and the phase transition temperature were -4.001$\times$103 and 178$^{\circ}C$ (1/T*=1.92, 1000/T=2.22), respectively.
This study first attempted to point out fundamental reasons behind the failure to have WiBro services off the saddle, investigating the previous studies, and second to screen the WiBro promotion policies after reviewing the major steps conducted thus far by the government. In order to put the screened policies in order by the importance, an AHP analysis was conducted targeting WiBro professionals in various fields such as government offices, universities, research institutes, and industry. One step further, causal loop diagramming on the system dynamics methodology was conducted to examine the dynamic structure of the WiBro market in holistic standpoint of view. Finally, a simulation model was developed based on the causal loop diagrams and the results of the AHP analysis in order to examine how various policy scenarios influence the growth of the WiBro market over time, and to compare the mix of policy options. Finally, the study attempted to draw some implications for WiBro vitalization.

The paper presents the mechanism of secondary flows and the associated total pressure losses occurring in turbine cascades with turning angle of about 127 and 77 degree. Velocity and pressure measurements are taken in seven traverse planes through the cascade passage using a prism type five hole probe. Oil-film flow visualization is also conducted on blade and endwall surfaces. The characteristics of the limiting streamlines show that the three dimensional separation is an important flow feature of endwall and blade surfaces. The larger turning results in much stronger contribution of the secondary flows to the loss developing mechanism. A large part of the endwall loss region at downstream pressure side is found to be very thin when compared to that of the cascade inlet and suction side endwall. Evolution of overall loss starts quite early within the cascade and the rate of the loss growth is much larger in the blade of large turning angle than in the blade of small turning angle.

A particle image velocimetry (PlV) technique has been applied to measure the quantitative flow field characteristics behind a road vehicle with/without an air spoiler attached on its trunk and to estimate its effect on the wake. A vehicle model scaled in the ratio of 1/43 is set up in the mid-section of a closed-loop water tunnel. The Reynolds number based on the vehicle length is $10^5$. To investigate the three-dimensional structure of the recirculation zone and vortices, measurements are carried out on the planes both parallel and perpendicular to the free stream, respectively. The results show significant differences in the recirculation region and the vorticity distributions according to the existence of the air spoiler. The focus and the saddle point, appearing just behind the air spoiler, are disposed differently along the spanwise direction. Regarding the streamwise vortices, the air spoiler produces large wing tip vortices. They have opposite rotational directions to C-pillar vortices which are commonly observed in case that the air spoiler is absent. The wing tip vortices generate the down-force and as a result, they can make the vehicle more stable in driving.
Fast-time instability is investigated for diffusion flames with Lewis numbers greater than unity by employing the numerical technique called the Evans function method. Since the time and length scales are those of the inner reactive-diffusive layer, the problem is equivalent to the instability problem for the $Li\tilde{n}\acute{a}n#s$ diffusion flame regime. The instability is primarily oscillatory, as seen from complex solution branches and can emerge prior to reaching the upper turning point of the S-curve, known as the $Li\tilde{n}\acute{a}n#s$ extinction condition. Depending on the Lewis number, the instability characteristics is found to be somewhat different. Below the critical Lewis number, $L_C$, the instability possesses primarily a pulsating nature in that the two real solution branches, existing for small wave numbers, merges at a finite wave number, at which a pair of complex conjugate solution branches bifurcate. For Lewis numbers greater than $L_C$, the solution branch for small reactant leakage is found to be purely complex with the maximum growth rate found at a finite wave number, thereby exhibiting a traveling nature. As the reactant leakage parameter is further increased, the instability characteristics turns into a pulsating type, similar to that for L < $L_C$.
The thesis is for gust factor needing when calculate the wind resistance design. For the gust factor, to the membrane structural model, carry through the wind tunnel test and the static load test. Therefore, at first through the tensile test of the fabric material, designate the material of the membrane structural model. Then, to saddle, wave, arch and point four kinds of basic shape membrane structural models, carry on the wind tunnel test, determine their dynamic load and distortion on lateral direction. Finally, according to distort situation of the membrane structure in the wind tunnel test, carry on the static load experiment outside of the wind tunnel, calculate static load which corresponding with distort. According to dynamic load and the static load, figure out gust factor of these kinds of basic membrane structure.
