A Stay Detection Algorithm Using GPS Trajectory and Points of Interest Data

  • Points of interest (POIs) are widely used in tourism recommendations and to provide information about areas of interest. Currently, situation judgement using POI and GPS data is mainly rule-based. However, this approach has the limitation that inferences can only be made using predefined POI information. In this study, we propose an algorithm that uses POI data, GPS data, and schedule information to calculate the current speed, location, schedule matching, movement trajectory, and POI coverage, and uses machine learning to determine whether to stay or go. Based on the input data, the clustered information is labelled by k-means algorithm as unsupervised learning. This result is trained as the input vector of the SVM model to calculate the probability of moving and staying. Therefore, in this study, we implemented an algorithm that can adjust the schedule using the travel schedule, POI data, and GPS information. The results show that the algorithm does not rely on predefined information, but can make judgements using GPS data and POI data in real time, which is more flexible and reliable than traditional rule-based approaches. Therefore, this study can optimize tourism scheduling. Therefore, the stay detection algorithm using GPS movement trajectories and POIs developed in this study provides important information for tourism schedule planning and is expected to provide much value for tourism services.

  • In this study, Multi-Radial Basis Function Support Vector Machine (Multi-RBF SVM) classifier is introduced based on a composite kernel function. In the proposed multi-RBF support vector machine classifier, the input space is divided into several local subsets considered for extremely nonlinear classification tasks. Each local subset is expressed as nonlinear classification subspace and mapped into feature space by using kernel function. The composite kernel function employs the dual RBF structure. By capturing the nonlinear distribution knowledge of local subsets, the training data is mapped into higher feature space, then Multi-SVM classifier is realized by using the composite kernel function through optimization procedure similar to conventional SVM classifier. The original training data set is partitioned by using some unsupervised learning methods such as clustering methods. In this study, three types of clustering method are considered such as Affinity propagation (AP), Hard C-Mean (HCM) and Iterative Self-Organizing Data Analysis Technique Algorithm (ISODATA). Experimental results on benchmark machine learning datasets show that the proposed method improves the classification performance efficiently.

  • The main aim of this study is to predict the compressive and flexural strengths of self-compacting mortar (SCM) containing $nano-SiO_2$, $nano-Fe_2O_3$ and nano-CuO using wavelet-based weighted least squares-support vector machines (WLS-SVM) approach which is called WWLS-SVM. The WWLS-SVM regression model is a relatively new metamodel has been successfully introduced as an excellent machine learning algorithm to engineering problems and has yielded encouraging results. In order to achieve the aim of this study, first, the WLS-SVM and WWLS-SVM models are developed based on a database. In the database, nine variables which consist of cement, sand, NS, NF, NC, superplasticizer dosage, slump flow diameter and V-funnel flow time are considered as the input parameters of the models. The compressive and flexural strengths of SCM are also chosen as the output parameters of the models. Finally, a statistical analysis is performed to demonstrate the generality performance of the models for predicting the compressive and flexural strengths. The numerical results show that both of these metamodels have good performance in the desirable accuracy and applicability. Furthermore, by adopting these predicting metamodels, the considerable cost and time-consuming laboratory tests can be eliminated.

  • In this paper, an intelligent security camera over internet is proposed. Among ISC methods, watersheds based methods produce a good performance in segmentation accuracy. But traditional watershed transform has been suffered from over-segmentation due to small local minima included in gradient image that is input to the watershed transform. And a zone face candidates of detection using skin-color model. last step, face to check at face of candidate location using SVM method. It is extract of wavelet transform coefficient to the zone face candidated. Therefore, it is likely that it is applicable to read world problem, such as object tracking, surveillance, and human computer interface application etc.

  • In this paper, we propose a novel speech enhancement technique using global soft decision (GSD) based on the probabilistic outputs of support vector machine (SVM). Generally, speech enhancement algorithms applied soft decision gain modification and noise power estimation have bettor performance than those employing hard decision. Especially, global speech absence probability (GSAP), which is known as an effective measure of the speech absence in each frame, has been adopted to SD-based speech enhancement methods. For this reason, we introduce a new GSAP estimated from the probabilistic output of SVM using sigmoid function. The performance of the proposed algorithm is evaluated by the PESQ and MOS test under various noise environments and yields better results compared with the conventional GSD scheme.

Implementation on SVM based Step Detection Analyzer (SVM 기반의 걸음 검출 분석기의 구현)

  • In this study, we designed and implemented a step detection analyzer that can compare and analyze the step detection rates and results among the step detection algorithms. The step detection analyzer converts 3-axes accelerometer data into continuous energy stream through SVM operation, shows the horizontal comparison among the step detection results for each step detection algorithms, and can make elemental detection analyses. For these processes, the step detection analyzer presents the continuous energy stream as energy waveform, checks the peak values and time location of the detected steps with step detection algorithms, and gives visual interface to get some possible causes in cases of step detection miss. It can also give the threshold graph for each algorithm to check the threshold value on missed cases directly and can help to get more appropriate threshold values or other adjustable parameters in step detection algorithm. This step detection analyzer can be applied efficiently on performance enhancement of step detection algorithm, on deciding an appropriate algorithm for a specific step counter system in the various step counter filed operations.

  • Several performance factors which have applied to the automatic indexing with controlled vocabulary and text categorization based on Rocchio algorithm were examined, and the simple method for performance improvement of them were tried. Also, results of the methods using Rocchio algorithm were compared with those of other learning based methods on the same conditions. As a result, keeping with the strong points which are implementational easiness and computational efficiency, the methods based Rocchio algorithms showed equivalent or better results than other learning based methods(SVM, VPT, NB). Especially, for the semi-automatic indexing(computer-aided indexing), the methods using Rocchio algorithm with a high recall level could be used preferentially.

  • For effective mobility control of UGV(unmanned ground vehicle), the terrain cover classification is an important component as well as terrain geometry recognition and obstacle detection. The vision based terrain cover classification algorithm consists of pre-processing, feature extraction, classification and post-processing. In this paper, we present a method to classify terrain covers based on the color and texture information. The color space conversion is performed for the pre-processing, the wavelet transform is applied for feature extraction, and the SVM(support vector machine) is applied for the classifier. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm has a promising classification performance.

Vehicle Detection based on the Haar-like feature and Image Segmentation (영상분할 및 Haar-like 특징 기반 자동차 검출)

  • In this paper, we study about the vehicle detection algorithm which is in the process of travelling from the road. An input image is segmented by means of split and merge algorithm. And two largest segmented regions are removed for reducing search region and speed up processing time. In order to detect the back side of the front vehicle considers a vertical/horizontal component, uses an integral image with to apply Haar-like methods which are the possibility of shortening a calculation time, classified with SVM. The simulation result of the method which is proposed appeared highly.

  • In this paper, we propose a new adaptive intrusion detection algorithm based on clustering: Kernel-ART, which is composed of the on-line clustering algorithm, ART (adaptive resonance theory), combining with mercer-kernel and concept vector. Kernel-ART is not only satisfying all desirable characteristics in the context of clustering-based IDS but also alleviating drawbacks associated with the supervised learning IDS. It is able to detect various types of intrusions in real-time by means of generating clusters incrementally.
