This paper is about a personal identification algorithm using an ECG that has been studied by a few researchers recently. Previously published algorithm can be classified as two methods. One is the method that analyzes of ECG features and the other is the morphological analysis of ECG. The main characteristic of proposed algorithm can be classified the method of analysis ECG features. Proposed algorithm adopts DSTW(Down Slope Trace Wave) for extracting ECG features, and applies SVM(Support Vector Machine) to training and testing as a classifier algorithm. We choose 18 ECG files from MIT-BIH Normal Sinus Rhythm Database for estimating of algorithm performance. The algorithm extracts 100 heartbeats from each ECG file, and use 40 heartbeats for training and 60 heartbeats for testing. The proposed algorithm shows clearly superior performance in all ECG data, amounting to 93.89% heartbeat recognition rate and 100% ECG recognition rate.
Genetic algorithm is well known as a stochastic searching method. In this paper, a modified genetic algorithm using 'Suppor Vector Machines (SVM)' is proposed. SVM is used to reduce the number of calling the objective function which in turn accelerate the searching speed compared to the conventional GA.
본 논문에서는 신호의 파워에 따라 적응적 스텝 사이즈를 갖는 개선된 QIM(Quantization index modulation)과 SVM(Support vector machine) 디코딩 모델을 이용한 다중 오디오 워터마킹 알고리즘을 제안한다.
Abnormal samples are usually difficult to obtain in production systems, resulting in imbalanced training sample sets. Namely, the number of positive samples is far less than the number of negative samples. Traditional Support Vector Machine (SVM)-based anomaly detection algorithms perform poorly for highly imbalanced datasets: the learned classification hyperplane skews toward the positive samples, resulting in a high false-negative rate. This article proposes a new imbalanced SVM (termed ImSVM)-based anomaly detection algorithm, which assigns a different weight for each positive support vector in the decision function. ImSVM adjusts the learned classification hyperplane to make the decision function achieve a maximum GMean measure value on the dataset. The above problem is converted into an unconstrained optimization problem to search the optimal weight vector. Experiments are carried out on both Cloud datasets and Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining datasets to evaluate ImSVM. Highly imbalanced training sample sets are constructed. The experimental results show that ImSVM outperforms over-sampling techniques and several existing imbalanced SVM-based techniques.
Tuning the architecture of SVM (support vector machine) is to build an SVM model of better performance. Two different tuning methods of the grid search and the GA (genetic algorithm) have been addressed in the literature, each of which has its own methodological pros and cons. This paper suggests a combined method for tuning the architecture of SVM models, which employs the GAM (generalized additive models), the grid search, and the GA in sequence. The GAM is used for selecting input variables, and the grid search and the GA are employed for finding optimal parameter values of the SVM models. Applying the method to a bankruptcy prediction problem, we show that SVM model tuned by the proposed method outperforms other SVM models.
A Computer-Aided Diagnosis system has been examined to reduce the effort of radiologist. In this paper, we propose the algorithm using Support Vector Machine(SVM) classifier to discriminate whether microcalcifications are malignant or benign tumors. The proposed method to detect microcalcifications is composed of two detection steps each of which uses SVM classifier. The coarse detection step finds out pixels considered high contrasts comparing with neighboring pixels. Then, Region of Interest(ROI) is generated based on microcalcification characteristics. The fine detection step determines whether the found ROIs are microcalcifications or not by merging potential regions using obtained ROIs and SVM classifier. The proposed method is specified on Korean mammogram database. The experimental result of the proposed algorithm presents robustness in detecting microcalcifications than the previous method using Artificial Neural Network as classifier even when using small training data.
