  • The Internet have increased the number of digital web documents related to the history and traditions of Korean Culture. However, users who search for creators or materials related to traditional cultures are not able to get the information they want and the results are not enough. Document classification is required to access this effective information. In the past, document classification has been difficult to manually and manually classify documents, but it has recently been difficult to spend a lot of time and money. Therefore, this paper develops an automatic text classification model of traditional cultural contents based on the data of the Korean information culture field composed of systematic classifications of traditional cultural contents. This study applied TF-IDF model, Bag-of-Words model, and TF-IDF/Bag-of-Words combined model to extract word frequencies for 'Korea Traditional Culture' data. And we developed the automatic text classification model of traditional cultural contents using Support Vector Machine classification algorithm.

  • At one time, the anomaly detection sector dominated the method of determining whether there was an abnormality based on the statistics derived from specific data. This methodology was possible because the dimension of the data was simple in the past, so the classical statistical method could work effectively. However, as the characteristics of data have changed complexly in the era of big data, it has become more difficult to accurately analyze and predict the data that occurs throughout the industry in the conventional way. Therefore, SVM and Decision Tree based supervised learning algorithms were used. However, there is peculiarity that supervised learning based model can only accurately predict the test data, when the number of classes is equal to the number of normal classes and most of the data generated in the industry has unbalanced data class. Therefore, the predicted results are not always valid when supervised learning model is applied. In order to overcome these drawbacks, many studies now use the unsupervised learning-based model that is not influenced by class distribution, such as autoencoder or generative adversarial networks. In this paper, we propose a method to detect anomalies using generative adversarial networks. AnoGAN, introduced in the study of Thomas et al (2017), is a classification model that performs abnormal detection of medical images. It was composed of a Convolution Neural Net and was used in the field of detection. On the other hand, sequencing data abnormality detection using generative adversarial network is a lack of research papers compared to image data. Of course, in Li et al (2018), a study by Li et al (LSTM), a type of recurrent neural network, has proposed a model to classify the abnormities of numerical sequence data, but it has not been used for categorical sequence data, as well as feature matching method applied by salans et al.(2016). So it suggests that there are a number of studies to be tried on in the ideal classification of sequence data through a generative adversarial Network. In order to learn the sequence data, the structure of the generative adversarial networks is composed of LSTM, and the 2 stacked-LSTM of the generator is composed of 32-dim hidden unit layers and 64-dim hidden unit layers. The LSTM of the discriminator consists of 64-dim hidden unit layer were used. In the process of deriving abnormal scores from existing paper of Anomaly Detection for Sequence data, entropy values of probability of actual data are used in the process of deriving abnormal scores. but in this paper, as mentioned earlier, abnormal scores have been derived by using feature matching techniques. In addition, the process of optimizing latent variables was designed with LSTM to improve model performance. The modified form of generative adversarial model was more accurate in all experiments than the autoencoder in terms of precision and was approximately 7% higher in accuracy. In terms of Robustness, Generative adversarial networks also performed better than autoencoder. Because generative adversarial networks can learn data distribution from real categorical sequence data, Unaffected by a single normal data. But autoencoder is not. Result of Robustness test showed that he accuracy of the autocoder was 92%, the accuracy of the hostile neural network was 96%, and in terms of sensitivity, the autocoder was 40% and the hostile neural network was 51%. In this paper, experiments have also been conducted to show how much performance changes due to differences in the optimization structure of potential variables. As a result, the level of 1% was improved in terms of sensitivity. These results suggest that it presented a new perspective on optimizing latent variable that were relatively insignificant.

  • Fake news has emerged as a significant issue over the last few years, igniting discussions and research on how to solve this problem. In particular, studies on automated fact-checking and fake news detection using artificial intelligence and text analysis techniques have drawn attention. Fake news detection research entails a form of document classification; thus, document classification techniques have been widely used in this type of research. However, document summarization techniques have been inconspicuous in this field. At the same time, automatic news summarization services have become popular, and a recent study found that the use of news summarized through abstractive summarization has strengthened the predictive performance of fake news detection models. Therefore, the need to study the integration of document summarization technology in the domestic news data environment has become evident. In order to examine the effect of extractive summarization on the fake news detection model, we first summarized news articles through extractive summarization. Second, we created a summarized news-based detection model. Finally, we compared our model with the full-text-based detection model. The study found that BPN(Back Propagation Neural Network) and SVM(Support Vector Machine) did not exhibit a large difference in performance; however, for DT(Decision Tree), the full-text-based model demonstrated a somewhat better performance. In the case of LR(Logistic Regression), our model exhibited the superior performance. Nonetheless, the results did not show a statistically significant difference between our model and the full-text-based model. Therefore, when the summary is applied, at least the core information of the fake news is preserved, and the LR-based model can confirm the possibility of performance improvement. This study features an experimental application of extractive summarization in fake news detection research by employing various machine-learning algorithms. The study's limitations are, essentially, the relatively small amount of data and the lack of comparison between various summarization technologies. Therefore, an in-depth analysis that applies various analytical techniques to a larger data volume would be helpful in the future.

  • As many tunnels generally have been constructed, various experiences and techniques have been accumulated for tunnel design as well as tunnel construction. Hence, there are not a few cases that, for some usual tunnel design works, it is sufficient to perform the design by only modifying or supplementing previous similar design cases unless a tunnel has a unique structure or in geological conditions. In particular, for a tunnel blast design, it is reasonable to refer to previous similar design cases because the blast design in the stage of design is a preliminary design, considering that it is general to perform additional blast design through test blasts prior to the start of tunnel excavation. Meanwhile, entering the industry 4.0 era, artificial intelligence (AI) of which availability is surging across whole industry sector is broadly utilized to tunnel and blasting. For a drill and blast tunnel, AI is mainly applied for the estimation of blast vibration and rock mass classification, etc. however, there are few cases where it is applied to blast pattern design. Thus, this study attempts to automate tunnel blast design by means of machine learning, a branch of artificial intelligence. For this, the data related to a blast design was collected from 25 tunnel design reports for learning as well as 2 additional reports for the test, and from which 4 design parameters, i.e., rock mass class, road type and cross sectional area of upper section as well as bench section as input data as well as16 design elements, i.e., blast cut type, specific charge, the number of drill holes, and spacing and burden for each blast hole group, etc. as output. Based on this design data, three machine learning models, i.e., XGBoost, ANN, SVM, were tested and XGBoost was chosen as the best model and the results show a generally similar trend to an actual design when assumed design parameters were input. It is not enough yet to perform the whole blast design using the results from this study, however, it is planned that additional studies will be carried out to make it possible to put it to practical use after collecting more sufficient blast design data and supplementing detailed machine learning processes.

  • Recently, spatial information is being constructed actively based on the images obtained by drones. Because occlusion areas occur due to buildings as well as many obstacles, such as trees, pedestrians, and banners in the urban areas, an efficient way to resolve the problem is necessary. Instead of the traditional way, which replaces the occlusion area with other images obtained at different positions, various models based on deep learning were examined and compared. A comparison of a type of feature descriptor, HOG, to the machine learning-based SVM, deep learning-based DNN, CNN, and RNN showed that the CNN is used broadly to detect and classify objects. Until now, many studies have focused on the development and application of models so that it is impossible to select an optimal model. On the other hand, the upgrade of a deep learning-based detection and classification technique is expected because many researchers have attempted to upgrade the accuracy of the model as well as reduce the computation time. In that case, the procedures for generating spatial information will be changed to detect the occlusion area and replace it with simulated images automatically, and the efficiency of time, cost, and workforce will also be improved.

  • It is hard to predict when and where a fall accident will happen. Also, if rapid follow-up measures on it are not performed, a fall accident leads to a threat of life, so studies that can automatically detect a fall accident have become necessary. Among automatic fall-accident detection techniques, a fall detection scheme using an IMU (inertial measurement unit) sensor attached to a wrist is difficult to detect a fall accident due to its movement, but it is recognized as a technique that is easy to wear and has excellent accessibility. To overcome the difficulty in obtaining fall data, this study proposes an algorithm that efficiently learns less data through machine learning such as KNN (k-nearest neighbors) and SVM (support vector machine). In addition, to improve the performance of these mathematical classifiers, this study utilized feature data aquired in the frequency space. The proposed algorithm analyzed the effect by diversifying the parameters of the model and the parameters of the frequency feature extractor through experiments using standard datasets. The proposed algorithm could adequately cope with a realistic problem that fall data are difficult to obtain. Because it is lighter than other classifiers, this algorithm was also easy to implement in small embedded systems where SIMD (single instruction multiple data) processing devices were difficult to mount.

  • In autonomous driving systems, the ability to classify pedestrians in images captured by cameras is very important for pedestrian safety. In the past, after extracting features of pedestrians with HOG(Histogram of Oriented Gradients) or SIFT(Scale-Invariant Feature Transform), people classified them using SVM(Support Vector Machine). However, extracting pedestrian characteristics in such a handcrafted manner has many limitations. Therefore, this paper proposes a method to classify pedestrians reliably and effectively using CNN's(Convolutional Neural Network) deep features and transfer learning. We have experimented with both the fixed feature extractor and the fine-tuning methods, which are two representative transfer learning techniques. Particularly, in the fine-tuning method, we have added a new scheme, called M-Fine(Modified Fine-tuning), which divideslayers into transferred parts and non-transferred parts in three different sizes, and adjusts weights only for layers belonging to non-transferred parts. Experiments on INRIA Person data set with five CNN models(VGGNet, DenseNet, Inception V3, Xception, and MobileNet) showed that CNN's deep features perform better than handcrafted features such as HOG and SIFT, and that the accuracy of Xception (threshold = 0.5) isthe highest at 99.61%. MobileNet, which achieved similar performance to Xception and learned 80% fewer parameters, was the best in terms of efficiency. Among the three transfer learning schemes tested above, the performance of the fine-tuning method was the best. The performance of the M-Fine method was comparable to or slightly lower than that of the fine-tuningmethod, but higher than that of the fixed feature extractor method.

  • An intrusion detection system is a technology that detects abnormal behaviors that violate security, and detects abnormal operations and prevents system attacks. Existing intrusion detection systems have been designed using statistical analysis or anomaly detection techniques for traffic patterns, but modern systems generate a variety of traffic different from existing systems due to rapidly growing technologies, so the existing methods have limitations. In order to overcome this limitation, study on intrusion detection methods applying various machine learning techniques is being actively conducted. In this study, a comparative study was conducted on data preprocessing techniques that can improve the accuracy of anomaly detection using NGIDS-DS (Next Generation IDS Database) generated by simulation equipment for traffic in various network environments. Padding and sliding window were used as data preprocessing, and an oversampling technique with Adversarial Auto-Encoder (AAE) was applied to solve the problem of imbalance between the normal data rate and the abnormal data rate. In addition, the performance improvement of detection accuracy was confirmed by using Skip-gram among the Word2Vec techniques that can extract feature vectors of preprocessed sequence data. PCA-SVM and GRU were used as models for comparative experiments, and the experimental results showed better performance when sliding window, skip-gram, AAE, and GRU were applied.

  • Rapid industrialization and urbanization have led to severe marine pollution. A Water Quality Index (WQI) has been developed to allow the effective management of marine pollution. However, the WQI suffers from problems with loss of information due to the complex calculations involved, changes in standards, calculation errors by practitioners, and statistical errors. Consequently, research on the use of artificial intelligence techniques to predict the marine and coastal WQI is being conducted both locally and internationally. In this study, six techniques (RF, XGBoost, KNN, Ext, SVM, and LR) were studied using marine environmental measurement data (2000-2020) to determine the most appropriate artificial intelligence technique to estimate the WOI of five ecoregions in the Korean seas. Our results show that the random forest method offers the best performance as compared to the other methods studied. The residual analysis of the WQI predicted score and actual score using the random forest method shows that the temporal and spatial prediction performance was exceptional for all ecoregions. In conclusion, the RF model of WQI prediction developed in this study is considered to be applicable to Korean seas with high accuracy.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors affecting the classification of the severity of contrast media side effects based on the patient's body information using artificial intelligence techniques to be used as basic data to reduce the degree of contrast medium side effects. The data used in this study were 606 examiners who had no contrast medium side effects in the past history survey among 1,235 cases of contrast medium side effects among 58,000 CT scans performed at a general hospital in Seoul. The total data is 606, of which 70% was used as a training set and the remaining 30% was used as a test set for validation. Age, BMI(Body Mass Index), GFR(Glomerular Filtration Rate), BUN(Blood Urea Nitrogen), GGT(Gamma Glutamyl Transgerase), AST(Aspartate Amino Transferase,), and ALT(Alanine Amiono Transferase) features were used as independent variables, and contrast media severity was used as a target variable. AUC(Area under curve), CA(Classification Accuracy), F1, Precision, and Recall were identified through AdaBoost, Tree, Neural network, SVM, and Random foest algorithm. AdaBoost and Random Forest show the highest evaluation index in the classification prediction algorithm. The largest factors in the predictions of all models were GFR, BMI, and GGT. It was found that the difference in the amount of contrast media injected according to renal filtration function and obesity, and the presence or absence of metabolic syndrome affected the severity of contrast medium side effects.
