Staurolite-biotite-andalusite-garnet (SBAG) assemblage and its sub-assemblages (SBA and SBG) commonly occur in the Dueumri Formation near the Chunyang granite, belonging to andalusite and sillimanite zones. The occurrence of the SBAG mineral assemblage is unusual because it is univariant in the $K_2O-FeO-MgO-Al_2O_3-SiO_2-H_2O$ (KFMASH) model system. We used projection and singular value decomposition (SVD) methods to investigate the equilibrium relationship between SBAG and its sub-assemblage. The SVD modelling of single specimen containing the SBAG assemblage suggests no reaction relationship with respect to mass-balance. Thus, the SBAG assemblages are stabilized by non-KFMASH component. On the other hand, the AFM-Mn projection suggests a reaction relationship between SBAG and its sub-assemblage because they intersect each other in this composition space. The SVD modelling, however, suggests no reaction relationship between these assemblages. Thus, the SBAG assemblages are likely to be stabilized by the variation in bulk-rock composition and/or 1.1~2,. The stable occurrence of staurolite in the sillimanite zone is compatible with pressure estimates from the garnet-plagioclase-biotite-muscovite geobarometer.
In various manufacturing processes such as textiles and automobiles, when equipment breaks down or stops, the machines do not work, which leads to time and financial losses for the company. Therefore, it is important to detect equipment abnormalities in advance so that equipment failures can be predicted and repaired before they occur. Most equipment failures are caused by bearing failures, which are essential parts of equipment, and detection bearing anomaly is the essence of PHM(Prognostics and Health Management) research. In this paper, we propose a preprocessing algorithm called SWT-SVD, which analyzes vibration signals from bearings and apply it to an anomaly transformer, one of the time series anomaly detection model networks, to implement bearing anomaly detection model. Vibration signals from the bearing manufacturing process contain noise due to the real-time generation of sensor values. To reduce noise in vibration signals, we use the Stationary Wavelet Transform to extract frequency components and perform preprocessing to extract meaningful features through the Singular Value Decomposition algorithm. For experimental validation of the proposed SWT-SVD preprocessing method in the bearing anomaly detection model, we utilize the PHM-2012-Challenge dataset provided by the IEEE PHM Conference. The experimental results demonstrate significant performance with an accuracy of 0.98 and an F1-Score of 0.97. Additionally, to substantiate performance improvement, we conduct a comparative analysis with previous studies, confirming that the proposed preprocessing method outperforms previous preprocessing methods in terms of performance.
Two different issues, design of reduced-order robust model predictive control and input signal design for identification of a MIMO system, are addressed and design techniques based on singular value decomposition(SVD) of the pulse response circulant matrix(PRCM) are proposed. For this, we investigate the properties of the PRCM, which is a periodic approximation of a linear discrete-time system, and show its SVD represents the directional as well as the frequency decomposition of the system. Usefulness of the PRCM and effectiveness of the proposed design techniques are demonstrated through numerical examples.
This paper took advantage of SVD (Singular value Decomposition) techniques of LSI(Latent Semantic Indexing) to grasp easily terminology distribution. Existent LSI did to static database, propose that apply to dynamic database in this paper. But, if dynamic applies LSI to database, updating problem happens. Existent updating way is Recomputing method, Folding-in method, SVD-updating method. Proposed QR decomposition method to show performance improvement than existent three methods in this paper.
There are some image hash methods, in the paper four image hash methods have been compared: FJLT (Fast Johnson- Lindenstrauss Transform), SVD (Singular Value Decomposition), NMF (Non-Negative Matrix Factorization), FP (Feature Point). From the compared result, FJLT method can't be used in the online. the search time is very slow because of the KNN algorithm. So FJLT method has been improved in the paper.
This paper presents an algorithm for multipath channel parameter estimation by an improved Prony method. This algorithm applies a modified regularized spectral estimation to the conventional SVD Prony method. This method requires no a priori information on the number of multipath. The performance of the proposed algorithm is almost the same as that of the SVD based multipath channel parameter estimation algorithm.

Adaptive Bit Loading (ABL) in Multiple-Input Multiple-Output Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) is often used to achieve the desired Bit Error Rate (BER) performance in wireless systems. In this paper, we discuss some of the bit loading algorithms, compare them in terms of the BER performance, and present an effective and concise Adaptive Grouped Loading (AGL) algorithm. Furthermore, we propose a "weight factor" for loading algorithm to converge rapidly to the final solution for various data rate with variable Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) gaps. In particular, we consider the bit loading in near optimal Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) based MIMO-OFDM system. While using SVD based system, the system requires perfect Channel State Information (CSI) of channel transfer function at the transmitter. This scenario of SVD based system is taken as an ideal case for the comparison of loading algorithms and to show the actual enhancement achievable by our AGL algorithm. Irrespective of the CSI requirement imposed by the mode of the system itself, ABL demands high level of feedback. Grouped Loading (GL) would reduce the feedback requirement depending upon the group size. However, this also leads to considerable degradation in BER performance. In our AGL algorithm, groups are formed with a number of consecutive sub-channels belonging to the same transmit antenna, with individual gains satisfying predefined criteria. Simulation results show that the proposed "weight factor" leads a loading algorithm to rapid convergence for various data rates with variable SNR gap values and AGL requires much lesser CSI compared to GL for the same BER performance.

Depth recovery in robot vision is an essential problem to infer the three dimensional geometry of scenes from a sequence of the two dimensional images. In the past, many studies have been proposed for the depth estimation such as stereopsis, motion parallax and blurring phenomena. Among cues for depth estimation, depth from lens translation is based on shape from motion by using feature points. This approach is derived from the correspondence of feature points detected in images and performs the depth estimation that uses information on the motion of feature points. The approaches using motion vectors suffer from the occlusion or missing part problem, and the image blur is ignored in the feature point detection. This paper presents a novel approach to the defocus technique based depth from lens translation using sequential SVD factorization. Solving such the problems requires modeling of mutual relationship between the light and optics until reaching the image plane. For this mutuality, we first discuss the optical properties of a camera system, because the image blur varies according to camera parameter settings. The camera system accounts for the camera model integrating a thin lens based camera model to explain the light and optical properties and a perspective projection camera model to explain the depth from lens translation. Then, depth from lens translation is proposed to use the feature points detected in edges of the image blur. The feature points contain the depth information derived from an amount of blur of width. The shape and motion can be estimated from the motion of feature points. This method uses the sequential SVD factorization to represent the orthogonal matrices that are singular value decomposition. Some experiments have been performed with a sequence of real and synthetic images comparing the presented method with the depth from lens translation. Experimental results have demonstrated the validity and shown the applicability of the proposed method to the depth estimation.

Ternary sequences are digital codes consisting of discrete values -1, 0, and 1 only. They are advantageous in that the correlation can be carried out using additions only. Also, they feature an ideal circular autocorrelation function, but in channel characterization tasks, the usual requirement is that the linear autocorrelation function be ideal, i.e., a Kronecker delta function. In this article, we consider two approaches to improving their linear autocorrelation or crosscorrelation properties: one is an inverse filtering method with thresholding, and the other is a singular value decomposition (SVD) method. Both methods are simulated under noisy circumstances. The inverse filtering method resulted in an improvement in peak sidelobe level of about 11 dB at an SNR of 30 dB, and the SVD method showed similar performances, albeit more sensitive to noise depending on the singular value selection strategy.
