The purpose of this study is to investigate the educational significance of STEAM in school mathematics education by developing a STEAM program that learns mathematical and scientific principles based on patterns and analyzing the effects of developed program. For this purpose, we conducted an experimental class based on the STEAM program developed. STEAM attitude and satisfaction were tested for 120 elementary school students. The results of this study are as follows. First, in terms of STEAM attitude, STEAM-based experimental instruction did not differ significantly in the second grade students. However, there were positive effects in the other five grades. Second, in terms of satisfaction, the proportion of students who were 'generally' was 89%. the proportion of students who were 'not generally' was 3%. Study subject students were found to be generally satisfied with the STEAM-based instruction.

The purpose of this study is to develop HTE-STEAM program using natural disasters for high school students and to verify their attitude and satisfaction with STEAM. We developed the HTE-STEAM program utilizing natural disasters and tested the effectiveness of 243 students from G High School and N High School. For data analysis, a single group pretest and post response t-test were conducted to verify the effects on attitudes and satisfaction with STEAM. The research results are as follows. First, we developed STEAM education programs for high school students by selecting the topic of "natural disasters" in the area of earth science and flying drones as lifesaving drones. The six-hour program was designed to give students the experience to solve problems by applying essential knowledge related to natural disasters and drones, and what they learned in other situations. Second, there was a significant statistical test result in the t-test of the corresponding sample by the difference between the pre and post score of the STEAM attitude test (p <.05). The drone-based HTE-STEAM program had a significant improvement in the overall attitude toward STEAM education, which consists of seven subfactors. Third, in the HTE-STEAM satisfaction test, the average value of the lower job offer was 3.64 ~ 3.76, which showed a positive response overall. It is judged that the students' satisfaction is improved through the students' understanding of the problem situation and the design of creative convergence and production process.
The purpose of this study is to analyze elementary school teachers' perception on application of STEAM education. For this study, a survey was administered to 80 primary teachers. The result showed as follows: First, even though, elementary school teachers have known about the meaning and aims of the STEAM education in detail, they often took a neutral attitude toward the actual teaching method. In addition, they take a negative attitude toward having the gathering. Second, only a few elementary school teachers prepared and used the teaching materials related to the STEAM education in class and teach students the concept based on the STEAM education. Only a few elementary school teachers said that they used the developed modules. However, the demand, developing the modules, was extremely high. This result means that the easy and available modules should be developed to establish the STEAM education. Third, only a few elementary school teachers applied the subject, activity, and estimation related to the STEAM education in actual class. Forth, even though, after applying, there much be the positive affects, most elementary school teachers could not recognize the positive affects. At the same time, elementary school teachers suggested the curriculum should be reorganized for students to connect between the results of the STEAM education and the contents of the textbook, and the easy and available program should be developed and spread, also. The attitude of elementary school teachers toward the application of the STEAM education was normally negative. Therefore, it is needed to include more STEAM related contents in the science textbooks and to develop various STEAM education materials and circulate them as well as to establish adequate teaching and assessment methods for STEAM education.
The purpose of this study was to explore the effect of science academic achievement, inquiry ability, scientific attitude of students using the STEAM Learning Program. To verify about the effects of science-based STEAM program, a teaching plan and worksheet for students based on STEAM has been constructed and applied. The subjects of this program were the first grade students of both an experimental class(34 students) and a comparative class (34 students) located in Kyonggi Province. The results of this study were as follows: First, there is a significant difference in inquiry ability between two groups. STEAM Learning program accomplished higher achievement than traditional science instruction. Second, STEAM Learning program influenced science academic achievement positively. Third, there is a statistically significant effect on scientific attitude of students than traditional instruction. In conclusion, the STEAM Learning Program was useful to develop the elementary school student's inquiry ability, scientific attitude.
The purpose of this study was to develop 'Appropriate Technology' theme STEAM Program for the elementary students and investigate the effects of the program on creative thinking activity, scientific attitude and leadership. Participants were 3grade 85 elementary school students. Before and after the program, the participants were asked to take the tests about creative thinking activity, scientific attitude and leadership. The major results of this study were as follows. First, the total score of experimental group's creative thinking activity and all 4 sub-domains was significantly improved than those of comparative group(p<.05). Second, the total score of experimental groups' scientific attitude was significantly improved than that of comparative group(p<.05). Among 7 sub-domains, curiosity, voluntariness, perseverance were significantly developed. Third, total score of experimental groups' leadership was significantly increased than that of comparative group after the STEAM program (p<.05). In the first factor, the score of inner and inter personal characteristics were significantly developed.

Robotics education in elementary school, It is difficult for girls to continue the motivation and willingness to learn because of a negative attitude and low recognition against the machine. In this paper, we studied method to improve the learning attitude through STEAM-based robotics education utilizing storytelling and robot smart learning system for elementary school girls. The curriculum is composed of nine themes which are selected from famous classic fairy tales for girls and we developed robot smart learning system which allows girls to enjoy robot design&control, collaborative learning, and sharing their ideas by using smart-phone. As a t-test results of learning attitude, the two groups showed statistically significant difference, the experimental group was higher average than the control group in terms of learning attitude. The robot smart learning system is effective for collaborative learning activities and maintaining learning motivation of elementary school girls.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of engineering design-based ocean cleanup classes on STEAM attitudes and creative engineering problem-solving dispositions. Furthermore, during this process, we tried to determine interesting points that students encountered in engineering design-based classes. For this study, a science class with six lessons based on engineering design was developed and reviewed by a professor who majored in engineering design, along with five engineering design experts with a master's degree or higher. The subject of the class was selected as the design and implementation of scientific and engineering measures to reduce marine pollution based on the method implemented in an actual Ocean Clean-up Project. The engineering design process utilized the engineering design model presented by NGSS (2013), and was configured to experience redesign through the optimization process. To verify effectiveness, the STEAM attitude questionnaire developed by Park et al. (2019) and the creative engineering problemsolving propensity test tool developed by Kang and Nam (2016) were used. A pre and post t-test was used for statistical analysis for the effectiveness test. In addition, the contents of interesting points experienced by the learners were transcribed after receiving descriptive responses, and were analyzed and visualized through degree centrality analysis. Results confirmed that engineering design in science classes had a positive effect on both STEAM attitude and creative engineering problem-solving disposition (p< .05). In addition, as a result of unstructured data analysis, science and engineering knowledge, engineering experience, and cooperation and collaboration appeared as factors in which learners were interested in learning, confirming that engineering experience was the main factor.

This research aimed at developing STEAM Program with the medium of films for scientific talents in elementary schools and examining its influence on the problem solving ability, creative personality, and scientific attitude. The results were as follows: First, the STEAM program using movies was proved to be effective in forming creative personality, and a significant difference was found especially in the areas of patience/obsession, self conviction, sense of humor, curiosity, imagination, openness, adventurous spirit, and spirit of independence(p<.05). Second, the STEAM program using movies was found to be a successful way to improve their problem solving ability, and in particular, the difference was significant in the areas of planning an experiment and creative problem solving ability(p<.05). Third, the program was also found to be effective for the enhancement in their scientific attitude, and the difference, particularly in the areas of curiosity, openness, criticism, cooperation, spontaneity, patience, creativity and scientific attitude, was significant(p<.05). The study results above indicated that the STEAM program using movies was an efficacious way in forming creative personality, and enhancing creative problem solving ability and scientific attitude.

The purpose of this study was to develop 'Silver Care Expert' STEAM Program for the elementary students and investigate the effects of the program on creative thinking activity, scientific attitude and leadership. Participants were 110 elementary school students. Before and after the program, the participants were asked to take the test about future time perspective, career awareness and scientific attitude. The major results of this study were as follows. First, the total score of experimental group's future time perspective and all 2 sub-domains was significantly improved than those of comparative group(p<.05). Second, total score of experimental groups' career awareness and all 4 sub-domains were significantly increased than those of comparative group after the STEAM program(p<.05). Third, the total score of experimental groups' scientific attitude and all 7 sub-domains were significantly improved than those of comparative group(p<.05). Fourth, according to students' post-program opinions, experimental group students showed very positive perception like that science class was very interesting and they became interested in science and technology. In conclusion, 'Silver Care Expert' STEAM Program was very effective to improve elementary students' future time perspective, career awareness, scientific attitudes.

STEAM education introduced full-scale since 2011, it was reflected in the 2009 modified science curriculum. Partially it was decided not by result of study, but by the government policy. So practical study was needed for steam education. The researchers have studied effect of steam education based on physical computing from 2012 to 2014 on fourth grader. To study of effects of steam education, the researcher administer pre-to-post of science attitude test, science achievement test, logical ability test, psychological test for youth, satisfaction level test for school curriculum. The result shows that science attitude, logical ability, and satisfaction level for school curriculum of steam treatment group were enhanced. We conclude that steam education solve the proposed problem which low motivation and interest for science in comparison with science achievement.
