행렬스타 그래프와 하프팬케익 그래프는 스타 그래프의 변형으로 노드 대칭성과 허용도 등 여러 가지 좋은 성질을 갖는다. 본 연구에서는 행렬스타 그래프와 하프팬케익 그래프 사이의 임베딩을 분석한다. 연구 결과로 행렬스타 그래프 $MS_{2,n}$는 하프팬케익 그래프 $HP_{2n}$에 연장율 5, 확장율 1에 임베딩 가능하다. 또한 하프팬케익 그래프 $HP_{2n}$는 행렬스타 그래프 $MS_{2,n}$에 임베딩하는 연장율 비용이 O(n)임을 보인다. 이러한 결과는 스타 그래프에서 개발된 여러 가지 알고리즘을 하프팬케익 그래프에서 상수의 추가적인 비용으로 시뮬레이션 할 수 있음을 의미한다. 왜냐하면 스타 그래프 $S_n$은 행렬스타 그래프 $MS_{2,n}$의 부분 그래프이기 때문이다.

We evaluated activities of various plant leaf extracts and found the availability against skin aging in the leaf extract of star fruit (Averrhoa carambola L), and developed Star Fruit Leaf Extract BG30 as an ingredient of cosmetics. Star Fruit Leaf Extract BG30 was found to show scavenging activities of reactive oxygen species and an inhibitory effect on the activity of matrix metalloproteinase-1. It showed increasing activity of type I collagen and recovery effect from damage of UV-B irradiation in human fibroblast. We performed the separation of the active principal from Star Fruit Leaf Extract BG30 to give isofurcatin 2"-Ο-$\alpha$-L-rhamnopyranoside, which showed increasing activity of type I collagen. To examine the anti-wrinkle effect of Star Fruit Leaf Extract BG30, seven volunteers applied a Star Fruit Leaf Extract BG30 1 ％ cream in double blind manner to one-side of the corner of their eye and the placebo cream to the opposite side. Clinical evaluation of wrinkling was performed every week for 5 weeks using a silicone rubber replica. A statistically significant improvement of Star Fruit Leaf Extract BG30-treated site was seen in decreased wrinkles. Star Fruit Leaf Extract BG30 results in clinically visible improvement in wrinkling when used topically for 5 weeks.

We have observed the deuterated methanol, $CH_3OD$, toward the hot core MM1 in the massive star-forming region DR21 (OH) using the Submillimeter Array with a high angular resolution of about 1 arcsecond. The position of the hot core associated with the sub-core MM1a was confirmed to coincide with the continuum peak where an embedded young stellar object is located. The column density of $CH_3OD$ was found to be about $(2{\pm}1){\times}10^{16}cm^{-2}$ toward the MM1a center. The abundance ratio $CH_3OD/CH_3OH$ was measured to be ~ 0.45, which is about the median value for low mass star-forming cores but much larger than those of the massive star-forming cores. The ratio is believed to change depending on, for example, the chemical condition, the temperature and the density of the source. This ratio may further depend on the evolutionary phase especially in the massive-star-forming cores. The sub-core MM1a is thought to be in the very early phase of star formation. This large abundance ratio found in this source indicates that even the massive star-forming cores, during a relatively short period in the very early stage of star formation, may also show a chemical state resulted from the cold and dense pre-collapsing phase, the enhanced deuteration as found in low mass star-forming cores.

Allopurinol-induced severe cutaneous adverse reactions (SCARs) such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS), toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN), and drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS) syndrome are reportedly associated with the $HLA-B^{\star}58:01$ genotype. Three patients who developed SCARs after allopurinol administration were subjected to HLA-B genotyping and lymphocyte activation test (LAT) to evaluate genetic risk and to detect the causative agent, respectively. All three patients given allopurinol to treat gout were diagnosed with DRESS syndrome. Symptom onset commenced 7-24 days after drug exposure; the patients took allopurinol (100-200 mg/d) for 2-30 days. HLA-B genotyping was performed using a polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-sequence-based typing (SBT) method. All patients had a single $HLA-B^{\star}58:01$ allele: $HLA-B^{\star}13:02/^{\star}58:01$ (a 63-year-old male), $HLA-B^{\star}48:01/^{\star}58:01$ (a 71-year-old female), and $HLA-B^{\star}44:03/^{\star}58:01$ (a 22-year-old male). Only the last patient yielded a positive LAT result, confirming that allopurinol was the causative agent. These findings suggest that patients with $HLA-B^{\star}58:01$ may develop SCARs upon allopurinol administration. Therefore, HLA-B genotyping could be helpful in preventing serious problems attributable to allopurinol treatment, although PCR-SBT HLA-B genotyping is time consuming. A simple genotyping test is required in practice. LAT may help to identify a causative agent.

We prensent the near-infrared(NIR) images of the asymmetric circumstellar disk around a T-Tauri star in the ${\rho}$ Ophiuchi star-forming region, and two faint stellar objects around central star. These results were obtainted with the Subaru Telescope with HiCIAO(the High-Contrast Instrument with Adaptive Optics) and IRCS(the InfraRed Camera and Spectrograph). The disk shows center-offset from the star and a strong morphological asymmetry along both the major and minor axis. The physical conditions in the disk is derived from the infrared visibilites results and the complete spectral energy distribution using HOCHUNK3D, Monte-Carlo radiative transfer code. Two companion candidates are separated by 11.6 arcsec(~1450 au at 125 parsec) and 4.34 arcsec(~540 au at 125 parsec). This could be the first case, which imaged both of planetary mass companions and disk around same star. We discuss physical structures of the disk, and probablity that two candidates are real companions.

We find a necessary and sufficient condition for which a point star-configuration in $\mathbb{P}^n$ has generic Hilbert function. More precisely, a point star-configuration in $\mathbb{P}^n$ defined by general forms of degrees $d_1,{\ldots},d_s$ with $3{\leq}n{\leq}s$ has generic Hilbert function if and only if $d_1={\cdots}=d_{s-1}=1$ and $d_s=1,2$. Otherwise, the Hilbert function of a point star-configuration in $\mathbb{P}^n$ is NEVER generic.

We utilize Sloan Digital Sky Survey DR7 spectroscopic data of ~380 star forming galaxies in the Virgo cluster to investigate their chemical properties depending on the environments. The chemical evolution of galaxies is linked to their star formation histories as well as to the gas interchange in different environments. We derived star formation rate (SFR) and gaseous metallicity (e.g., oxygen abundance) of star forming galaxies. Combining with GALEX ultraviolet photometry and ALFALFA HI 21 cm data, we examine the relations between SFRs, metallicity, and HI deficiency of galaxies in various regions of the Virgo cluster. We also quantify the degree of ram pressure around galaxy using the ROSAT X-ray surface brightness map. We discuss environmental effects on the chemical properties and evolution of star forming galaxies.

This paper describes attitude determination algorithm for the low earth orbit(LEO) spacecraft using stellar inertial sensors. The cascaded gyro/star tracker extended Kalman filter is constructed to fuse two sensor data. And then the smoothing of the measurement are proposed for an unreasonable jump of star tracker. The smoothing algorithm for the rejection of star tracker error jumps is designed by scalar adaptive filter. The proposed algorithms operate to process the measurement of gyro/star tracker Kalman filter, therefore, it is comparatively simple to apply these methods to other integration systems. Simulations to gyro/star tracker integrated system show that the proposed method is effective.

A new high contrast LCD structure for TN mode TFT-LCD, of which the contrast ratio is 1.2 times hi gher than that of the conventional one, has been developed. The contrast ratio of TFT-LCD display can be improved by some modified materials, which like as polarizer, liquid crystal, color filter and light enhancement film. In order to know which condition can get the major contribution for the upgrade of the contrast ratio, we used Taguchi method and analyzed the contribution ratio for each composition and succeed to build up the formula of contrast ratio. From this study, we could achieve the highest CR value as 1200:1 of TN mod e TFT-LCD nowadays.

Some new problems of the theory of the finite automata are considered. Applying the finite automata in various tasks of the formal languages theory is observed. Special proof of Kleene's theorem is obtained. This proof is used for the defining the star-height of the finite automaton. The proper-ties of the last object are considered. The star-height of the finite automaton is used for reformulating the star-height problem of regular expression for finite automata. The method of the reduction of the star-height problem to the task of making special finite automaton is obtained. This reformulating can help to solve the star-height problem by new way.
