  • This study was intended to academically redefine the art of seal engraving of the Joseon Dynasty through seal analysis related to Kim Jeong-hui and to widely promote its excellence. Previous studies on seals were examined, and comparative studies were conducted focusing on the seals engraved by Kim Jeong-hui and the related seals. The importance of the real seal study, not the stamp, was confirmed. If there was a byeongwan on the side of the seal, it was possible to understand that Kim Jeong-hui directly carved the seal. Also, it was possible to confirm the stone quality of the seal, the method of writing, the method of layout, and the method of holding graver. The imitation seal engraved with a tool rather than hand made it easy to grasp the uncertain production intent. All were analyzed by actual tensile, so it was a possible study result. The results of this study will serve as an indicator to judge the authenticity of the seal when evaluating an ancient painting in the future.

  • In terrestrial data broadcasting, we are just on the beginning stage in all aspects including implementation and design techniques and only asynchronous data processing has been receiving a little study. In this paper, we therefore propose an efficient processing algorithm for synchronization of asynchronous data by using trigger information to make more diverse service possible with a variety of contents. In the proposed algorithm, trigger data is encapsulated in DSM-CC section and transmitted in a form of MPEG-2 TS. The data is then separated in PC type set-top box and detached asynchronous data and trigger data are stored by the proposed algorithm. Pre-loaded asynchronous data is displayed when STC(system time clock) has the same value as PTS(presentation time stamp). Proper operation of the proposed algorithm was verified by using a content of asynchronous data with extensible markup language(XML) and a declarative application(DA) browser.

  • To solve user authentication problem, many remote user authentication schemes using password and smart card at the same time have been proposed. Due to the increasing of interest in personal privacy, there were some recent researches to provide user anonymity. In 2004, Das et al. firstly proposed an authentication scheme that guarantees user anonymity using a dynamic ID. In 2005, Chien et al. pointed out that Das et al.'s scheme has a vulnerability for guaranteing user anonymity and proposed an improved scheme. However their authentication scheme was found some weaknesses about insider attack, DoS attack, and restricted replay attack. In this paper, we propose an enhanced scheme which can remove vulnerabilities of Chien et al.'s scheme. The proposed authentication protocol prevented insider attack by using user's Nonce value and removed the restricted replay attack by replacing time stamp with random number. Furthermore, we improved computational efficiency by eliminating the exponentiation operation.

  • Climate changes brought on by human interventions have proved to be more devastating than predicted during the recent decades. Recognition of seriousness of the situation has led regulatory organisations to impose strict targets on allowable carbon dioxide emissions from automotive vehicles. As a possible solution, it has been proposed that Fibre Metal Laminate (FML) system is used to reduce the weight of future vehicles. To facilitate this investigation, FML based on steel and self-reinforced polypropylene was stamp formed into dome shapes under different blank holder forces (BHFs) at room temperature and its forming behaviour analysed. An open-die configuration was used in a hydraulic press so that a 3D photogrammetric measurement system (ARAMIS) could capture real-time surface strains. This paper presents findings on strain evolutions at different points along and at $45^{\circ}$ to fibre directions of circular FML blank, through various stages of forming. It was found initiation and rate of deformation varied with distance from the pole, that the mode of deformations range from biaxial stretching at the pole to drawing towards flange region, at decreasing magnitudes away from the pole in general. More uniform strain distribution was observed for the FML compared to that of plain steel and the most significant effects of BHF were its influence on forming depth and level of strain reached before failure.

  • We demonstrated roll-to-roll microcontact printed (mCP) microlens array (MLA) to enhance the light extraction of organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs). The commercially provided microlens array is used as a template for polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) roll stamp. The fluorinated film is formed on the PDMS roll stamp from fluorinated ink with low boiling point and printed onto the bottom side of the organic light emitting diode without high pressure and high thermal treatment. With optimized concentration of ink, the pattern which is almost identical to that of the template MLA was successfully printed. Due to the structure and low optical absorbance of microcontact printed MLA, the external quantum efficiency of OLED was improved by about 18%.

  • Transactional Memory (TM) has greatly changed the parallel programming paradigm for transaction processing and is classified into STM, HTM, HyTM according to hardware or software frameworks. However, the existing studies have a problem that they provide static retry policy for all workloads. To solve the problems, we propose an hybrid transactional memory scheme using sampling-based adaptive retry policy in multi-core environment. First, the proposed scheme determines whether to use STM or HTM according to the characteristic of a transaction. Otherwise, it executes HTM and STM concurrently by using a bloom filter. Second, the proposed scheme provides adaptive retry policy for HTM according to the characteristic of transactions in each workload. Finally, through the experimental performance evaluation using STAMP, the proposed scheme shows 10~20% better performance than the existing schemes.

  • "Buliseonrando," meaning "Buddhist virtues and the orchid are one and the same," was painted by Chusa Kim Jeong-hee. Four appreciation sentences are written in various fonts around the orchid drawn in the center of the painting, along with a total of 15 seals stamped. Hyperspectral image analysis(HSI), microscopy, and X-ray fluorescence (XRF) were conducted with a focus on the seals and the parts of the painting that have been applied with a conservation treatment. As a result of the analyses, the seals were classified into two types-seals with or without barium content. Stamp shade was identified only in five of themstamps, which allows the assumption that the composition and material characteristics of the stamp inks varied depending on the period. In particular, hyperspectral image analysis confirms traces of conservation treatment on the seals and the lost parts identified in addition to the 15 seals, which also demonstrates the utility of hyperspectral image analysis.

  • As the office of crown properties expanded to financial structure having jurisdiction over various nation's purse in the Great Han Empire, its official document form has been changed. Unlike the early days, they had used official paper stamped with the words 'the Office of Crown Properties' eliminating 'Department of the Royal Household'. Also, the title on stamp of government position changed to 'Recipient of the Official of Crown Properties'. As the office of crown properties expanded as a great financial structure, it has grown in stature as an independent structure, and it was reflected in official document form. Such change was shown in document distribution system. The recipient of report from each district was the First Lord of Department of the Royal Household until 1897; however, the recipients of reports were mostly the office of Crown Properties from 1899. The Office of Crown Properties could not issue an official order before Aug 1899, since then the Office of Crown Properties had issued official orders to each district. However, the Office of Crown Properties could not handle the document in an equal position to the central organization yet. However, from Sep. 1900, the Office of Crown Properties handle the document with district organizations in equal position to the central organization, and a records office had been established in the Office of Crown Properties. Also, the Office of Crown Properties had handled official documents as an independent organization getting out of belonging organization to the department of Royal Household. Since the records office was established in Sep. 1900, the Office of Crown Properties had written receipt book autonomously. Comparing the receipt books in 1901 to the receipt books in 1905 and 1906, receipt numbers had been appeared from the book in 1905 and the organization in charge of the documents was recorded on some documents. Since no receipt book was found in 1902~1904, it is unknown when receipt number had been started indicating on the book. Seeing that the receipt number on the book of 1905 matched with contents on the receipt stamp, the receipt number has started indicating from around July, 1902; the period the receipt stamp has been started to use. Unlike the receipt stamp, the department in charge was indicated on the receipt book. It is because that the Office of Crown Properties changed writing system. Instead of classifying divisions, the Office of Crown Properties recorded in a book by order to receive, provided serial number, and wrote the department on the bottom of receipt book to classify by department in charge. Since establishment of the records office in Sep. 1900, the Office of Crown Properties had confirmed the receipt of document by stamping 'receipt of the Office of Crown Properties' and made receipt books as the office had started handled documents independently. Also, the Office of Crown Properties changed its system integrating division and recording in one book from the intial system classifying the book by division then receipt number and department in charge were indicated on the book. Also, receipt system has stabilized by stamping the receipt date and number on the received document.
