  • The liberalization of Korean distribution market will undoubtedly lead to some erosion of market share of indigenous distributors in PC GMS(General Merchandising Store) & all the industries, but to our surprising, the benefits of rationalization of distribution, high qualities & low prices, strengthened competitiveness of indigenous retailers far outweigh the costs. The aim of this paper is to present some basic executive ideas for achieving a more global competitiveness in the 21st century. That is, successful market responsiveness in our distributors & firms will first of all require Dynamic Supply Chain Management at the base of information infrastructure to obtain the best competitive power. Secondly, in practical perspectives, distributors & firms needs to learn precise analysis on the basis of customer needs & wants as well as flexible thinking & proactive attitudes with respect to an freezing markets. In conclusions, win-win strategy in the competition for existence has to retain continuous & close relationship between cooperation and coordination.

  • A VLSI digital filter design using a semi-custom method is described. The digital filters composed of TDM/FDM Transmultiplexer are designed. Using the polyphase network approach a filter bank composed of only all-pass digital filter sections was designed. The use of all-pass filters as basic building blocks is shown to provide a transmultiplexer structure that has low computational requirements, low quantization noise, and high modularity. The silicon compiler systems is used to reduce the design time and increase the credibility of designed filters. A design of 1st order and 2nd order all pass filters is done using CMOS 2um N-well double metal cell.

  • PM3 semiempirical calculations ions have performed on the three aromatic heterocyclic polymers. The dipole moment (${\mu}$7), static 1st-orders(${\alpha}$), 2nd-order (${\beta}$), and 3rd-order polarizabilities(${\gamma}$) were investigated to study the nonlinear optical properties of the polythiophene, polyfuran, and polypyrrole systems. As a function of n, ${\alpha}$ and ${\gamma}$ increases much more rapidly for the polythiophene systems than for the polyfuran and Polypyrrole systems due to the pi-electron delocalization.

  • The present study was carried out to investigate the biochemical characteristics, antibiotic susceptibility and toxin(ST, LT, VT1.2 type) production test of 60 Escherichia coli isolated from diseased domestic animals in southern area of Kyungbuk province from April to December 1997. 1. The biochemical and cultural reaction were consistent with the classification criteria of Edwards and Ewing. 2. In antibiotic susceptibility test, 60 E coli showed highly susceptible to CL(96.7%), XNL(86.7%), AN(81.7%), SXT(61.7%), Lin(55%), GM(53.3%), KM(41.7%), N(41.7%), ENR(40%), AM(40%), CF(30%), 5(13.3%) and Te(11.7%), in order. 3. Sixty E coli isolates were multiful resistant to seven or more antibiotics incombination. 4. Three strains for 60 E coli were detected heat-labile enterotoxin(LT) and that's titers were 2, 8 and 16, respectively.

  • Seom River was major branch of Namhan river, consist of primary basin that Wonjoo-city, Hoingsung-gun and primary contamination source was sewage from human lives. This study was evaluated production contamination loading of each branch basin and water quality grade and water quality simulation by QUAL2E to provide efficient contaminations source control. Rusult of survey, production loading of BOD, T-N, T-P were 26,591 kg/day, 4,560 kg/day, 731 kg/day resectively. Water quality analysis in 17 points of main stream were appeared that 1st grade(BOD 1 mg/l under) was 6 point, 2nd grade was 9 point and 3rd grade was 2 point. And result of water quality analysis for branch steram, first grade was evaluated 68.7%. Based of field data, calibration and verification result were in good agreement with mesured value within coefficient of variance were from 2.59% to 18.73%, from 6.39%, to 28.46%, respectively.

  • Human capital theory and social capital theory provide a framework for analyzing economic well-being. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of human capital and social capital on the economic well-being of the elderly. The data from the 1st wave of KLoSA (Korean Longitudinal Study of Aging) were used (n=3,426). The major findings were as follows: First, human capital and social capital are both resources that can contribute to increasing the economic well-being of the elderly. Second, the effects of human capital on the economic well-being of the elderly were relatively higher than the effects of social capital. Third, the relative contributions of human capital and social capital to increasing economic well-being varied by sex, age, and region. Based on the empirical results, the implications for social investment in human capital and social capital were provided.

  • Water hammer phenomena are important issues for the design and the operation of hydro power plants. Especially, if several reversible pump-turbines are coupled hydraulically there may be strong unit interactions. The precise prediction of all relevant transients is challenging. Regarding a recent pump-storage project, dynamic measurements motivate an improved turbine modeling approach making use of a Thoma number dependency. The proposed method is validated for several transient scenarios and turns out to improve correlation between measurement and simulation results significantly. Starting from simple scenarios, this allows better prediction of more complex transients. By applying a fully automated simulation procedure broad operating ranges of the highly nonlinear system can be covered providing a consistent insight into the plant dynamics. This finally allows the optimization of the closing strategy and hence the overall power plant performance.

  • Optimized high-order compact(OHOC) schemes were proposed, which have high spatial order of truncation and resolution to simulate the aeroacoustic problems due to unsteady compressible flows. Generally, numerical schemes are categorized explicit or implicit by time-marching method. In this research, OHOC differences which were developed with explicit time-marching method is used to have implicit formulation and the implicit OHOC differences result in block hepta-diagonal matrix. This paper presents the comparisons between the explicit and implicit OHOC schemes with a second order accuracy of time in the 1-d linear wave convection problem, and between the explicit OHOC scheme of 4th-order accuracy in time and the implicit OHOC scheme of 1st-order accuracy in tine for the 1-d nonlinear wave convection problem. With these comparisons, the characteristics of implicit OHOC scheme are shown in the point of CFL number.

  • In this paper, a ncw control 'ialvc which can misc air-iraksge pneumatically and compensate pressure drop for an alrho~ st system uas proposed A new control valve called "Pneuniatic C70ntro1 Valve (PCV)" functions as a control valve to compcns;ltc prcssure in thc casc of air-leakage. by using the pure pneummatic control ofpilot pressure. Based on the sirnulation of the proposed PCY, thc experimental system was fabricaied su as to illustrate the efficient pcrformance of the proposed PCV with anti-leakage. Such good perfo~manccs of PCV in the air-hoist system are shown by the simulation. In addition, the simulation bascd design approach presented in this paper can be applied to any hydraulic or pneumatic-hydraulic system.
