Reliability Prediction using Telcordia SR-332 in Electric Home Appliance (Telcordia SR-332를 이용한 가전제품 신뢰도 예측)

  • This paper is concerned with the problem in predicting the reliability of an LCD product, Product reliability calculation methods classify accelerated life test (ALT) and using the reliability standard as MIL-HDBK-217F and Telcordia SR-332. The reliability standard can calculate estimating value more quickly than accelerated life test. The system MTBF was calculated in accordance of Telcordia SR-332 standard which includes directions of part electronic measurement, temperature rise and environmental test data. This research is intended to obtain the useful information for each electric design step to save time and cost.

  • As the level of technology and the standard of living improve, product reliability plays an increasingly significant role. This study has been performed to build a reliability model of electronic ballasts for the low wattage fluorescent lamp. Telcordia SR-332, one of the most widely used reliability specifications, was selected for the model development. We briefly reviewed the basic concepts of the electronic ballast. We then developed a reliability model for the ballast using SR-332 concepts and the reliability has been examined. We further discussed the significance of the first-year failure effect on the mean life.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to provide a comparison of reliability prediction models between MIL-HDBK-217F and Telcordia SR-332 and to analyze the reliability prediction results. Methods: The reliability of industrial tablet PC was predicted using MIL-HDBK-217F and Telcordia SR-332. To analyze the results, sensitivity analysis was conducted. Results: The reliability of MIL-HDBK-217F was predicted lower than the one of Telcordia SR-332. Considering the factors such as temperature, quality and environment, those provided reliability change of a particular part which highly contribute to the system failure. Conclusion: It is necessary to design the industrial tablet PC that consists of integrated circuits such as microprocessor and memory considering the operating temperature and quality factors.

  • In development phase of the Aircraft Systems, the reliability prediction of electronic equipments are usually performed using MIL-HDBK-217. The reliability of fielded electronic systems, however, used to be underestimated with MIL-HDBK-217. To solve this problem, some alternatives are suggested and Telcordia SR-332 is among them. In this case study, the reliability of ESU which controls gas turbine engine is predicted using Telcordia SR-332 along with the development test data. The predicted reliabilities of ESU using Telcordia SR-332 and MIL-HDBK-217 are also compared. As a result this case study showed that the predicted reliability using Telcordia SR-332 was better close to field(operation) reliability than MIL-HDBK-217.

  • Machine switch type control panel is widely used for machine tools in Korea. They, however, have some difficulties in identifying the current operating status of machine tools especially when exposed to cutting oil. And also they have quality problems of operating failures. A new capacitor touch type machine control panel is developed and its reliability is predicted. MIL-HDBK-217F and Teclordia SR-332 are used for its reliability prediction and the prediction results are compared.

  • Before an aircraft is delivered to customers, manufacturers have to verify required reliability for the aircraft. In usual, reliability of electronic equipments in military aircraft are predicted based on MIL-HDBK-217. But the specification has not been revised since 1995. Some alternatives including SR-332 and 217PLUS are suggested in this study. The processes and methods specified in MIL-HDBK-217 are compared with those of SR-332. Additionally, the predicted reliability of aircraft electronic equipment between usage data and field data are investigated using MIL-HDBK-217. The results show that predicted reliability of MIL-HDBK-217 is more conservative (underestimated) than that of usage data and field data.

  • Wide range of methodology of reliability prediction for system exists. For railway field, MIL-HDBK-217F, which has not been revised since early in 1990, is used for reliability prediction if historical data is not available. Since this standard has been published, quality and performance of electronic products have been improved rapidly and various kinds of items have been released, however new versions of items could not be released because the prediction standard could not follow up the speed of the production. Thus, this thesis introduces Telcordia SR-332 Issue 2 and would like to compare and analyze the result from MIL-HDBK-217F together with some cases we performed.

  • Product reliability plays a significantly important role these days. This study has been performed to examine the widely being used specifications, MIL-HDBK-217 and SR-332 for electronic parts. We specifically selected an electronic ballast of the low wattage fluorescent lamp for the study. We briefly reviewed the reliability specifications with the basic concepts of the ballast. We then valuated failure rates of the parts using MIL-HDBK-217 and SR-332 specifications. Since the quality and environment factor values are subjectively determined for failure rate evaluations, we excluded them for comparison.

B과 Sr동위원소를 이용한 지하수 수질 특성 연구

  • 본 연구는 농경활동이 활발한 만경강 하천부지에서 지하수의 수리지질 및 수리지화학적 특성을 고찰하고 B과 Sr 동위원소를 이용하여 지하수 수질 변화에 영향을 미치는 요인을 알아보고자 하였다. 연구 결과 만경강 하천부지는 지표로부터 실트질 모래층, 자갈모래층, 풍화대로 크게 3등분되며 투수성은 모래자갈층에서 가장 좋고 그 다음으로 풍화대, 실트질 모래층 순이었다. 화학성분 검층과 ${\delta}^{11}B,\;^{87}Sr/^{86}Sr$ 동위원소 분석결과 지하수 조성은 해수와 농업 활동에 의한 영향을 크게 받는 것으로 나타났다. 화학성분 검층 결과 해수 영향은 하천과 도로제방 사이 중간정도 까지인 것으로 사료되었으며 ${\delta}^{11}B$ 분석 결과 자갈모래층과 풍화대 지하수는 해수의 영향을 받는 것이 확인되었다. 본 연구지역 지하수는 지층 특성에 의한 영향으로 천층지하수는 토지이용에 따른 농업활동의 영향을 받으며 지표하 10m 이하의 지하수는 해수의 영향을 받는 것으로 사료되었다.
