  • 시스템을 구축하여 운용하다 보면 하드웨어 또는 DBMS 업그레이드를 위해 데이터베이스를 이동할 필요가 있게 된다. 그 상황은 동일 OS 동일 DBMS 로 이동, 스토리지 환경의 변화에 의한 이동, 상이한 OS 동일한 DBMS 로 이동, 상이한 OS 상이한 DBMS 로 이동 등이 있다. 본 연구에서는 동일 OS 동일 DBMS 로 이동 상황 즉 Windows Server, SQL Server 환경에서 하드웨어 업그레이드 및 SQL Server 및 OS 버전 업그레이드를 하는 방법에 국한하여 실제 시뮬레이션을 통해 장단점 및 서비스 중지 시간을 확인해보려 한다.

  • This paper proposes to study on the interoperation between Relation Database(RDB) and Object-oriented database(OODB). It also describes some Characteristics of OODB and introduces the UniSQL system. This paper suggests a new systemcalled URODB (Unifide Relation & Object-oriented database) that will overcome the limits of OODB, improve the shortcomings of the present RDB, and increase the interchangeability in particular.

  • Recently, open sources for geo-spatial information processing and analysis are being developed, and they are widely adopted for the various application development projects. Open sources in the geo-spatial communities consist in several levels or types: viewer, API-level, engine sources of SDK-level, or toolkits. Among them, spatial database engine of PostgreSQL-PostGIS is used in this study for the portable multi-geospatial information processing toolkit. This work can be extended to target-based applications with domain-specific spatial queries and analyses. Design and implementation are based on C Language Interface (LIBPQ) to PostGIS and OGC library on PostgreSQL database. Conclusively, PostGIS according to this approach is an important alternative to develop most applications dealing with multi-geospatial information due to its availability, extensibility, scalability, and stability.

  • Understanding consumer behavior based on the analysis of the customer data is one essential part of analytic CRM. To do this, the analytic skills for data extraction and data processing are required to users. As a user has various kinds of questions for the consumer data analysis, the user should use database language such as SQL. However, for the firm's user, to generate SQL statements is not easy because the accuracy of the query result is hugely influenced by the knowledge of work-site operation and the firm's database. This paper proposes a natural language based database search framework finding relevant database elements. Specifically, we describe how our TableRank method can understand the user's natural query language and provide proper relations and attributes of data records to the user. Through several experiments, it is supported that the TableRank provides accurate database elements related to the user's natural query. We also show that the close distance among relations in the database represents the high data connectivity which guarantees matching with a search query from a user.

  • As the firewall is a typical network security equipment, it is usually installed at most of internal/external networks and makes many packet data in/out. So analyzing the its logs stored in it can provide important and fundamental data on the network security research. However, along with development of communications technology, the speed of internet network is improved and then the amount of log data is becoming 'Massive Data' or 'BigData'. In this trend, there are limits to analyze log data using the traditional database model RDBMS. In this paper, through our Method of Analyzing Firewall log data using MapReduce based on NoSQL, we have discovered that the introducing NoSQL data base model can more effectively analyze the massive log data than the traditional one. We have demonstrated execellent performance of the NoSQL by comparing the performance of data processing with existing RDBMS. Also the proposed method is evaluated by experiments that detect the three attack patterns and shown that it is highly effective.

  • In this paper, we present design philosophy and implementation issues of a functionality testing tool for object-oriented database systems. A testing tool has been developed to validate UniSQL/X functionalities with C++ interface. A testing tool is designed under consideration of scaleability, simplicity and extendibility. The schema is deliberately constructed to verify the object-oriented functionalities such as abstraction, inheritance and aggregation. Each test item has been derived under various black box techniques such as equivalent partitioning and boundary-value analysis. The testing tool consists of six phases, namely, database creation, database population, construction of testindex, compilation and link, execution and result reporting, and final cleanup. The prototype provides more than 140 test items at 90 programs.

  • The usages of the relational database systems have been increased nowadays. However there is a constraint that the standard query language for a database system requests users to know the exact condition for a query. In this paper a FSQL(Fuzzy SQL) systems is proposed and implemented for the imprecise queries which do not include the exact condition. Moreover this system can supply the obvious results for the queries effectively. We define a simple fuzzy query language and use a method using the metadatabase to implement the FSQL system. This FSQL system can be combined with a relational database system without any painful effort.

  • A temporal database systems provides timing information and maintains history of data compared to the conventional database system. In this paper, we present a temporal relational database which use an interval-stamping method for instant-based events and for interval-based states. A set of temporal algebraic operators are developed on an instance of time and interval of time so that we can manipulate events and states at a same time. The set of operation is the basis for creating a relational algebra that is closed for temporal relations. And temporal SQL is also suggested as a temporal query relational language for our algebraic operations on temporal relations.

  • This paper proposes the SAMD(Synchronization Algorithms based on Message Digest) algorithm based on message digest in order to data synchronization between a database server and a mobile database. The SAMD algorithm makes the images at the database server and the mobile database using message digest tables and compares two images in order to select the rows needed to synchronization. If two images are different, the synchronization is progressed according to synchronization policy. The SAMD algorithm does not use techniques which are dependent the some database vendor and also triggers, stored procedures and timestamps. The SAMD only uses the standard SQL functions for the synchronization. Therefore the SAMD algorithm is used in any combinations of the database server and the mobile database because the SAMD algorithm is not depended on some database venders. Also the SAMD algorithm shows better performance compared with existing synchronization products.
