  • Generally, real system that is the object of decision-making is very variable and sometimes it lies situations with uncertainty. To solve these problem, it has used statistical methods as significance level, certainty factor, sensitivity analysis and so on. In this paper, we propose a method for fuzzy decision-making based on MFAC(Multiple Fuzzy Alpha Cut) to improve the definiteness of classification results with similarity evaluation. In the proposed method, MFAC is used for extracting multiple a ${\alpha}$-level with proximity degree at proximity relation between relative Hamming distance and max-min method and for minimizing the number of data which are associated with the partition intervals extracted by MFAC. To determine final alternative of decision-making, we compute the weighted value between extracted data by MFAC From the experimental results, we can see the fact that the proposed method is simpler and more definite than classification performance of the conventional methods and determines an alternative efficiently for decision-maker by testing significance of sample data through statistical method.

  • In this study, the earthquake response of building structures with foundation uplift was investigated. The Winkler foundation model and two-spring model are widely used to represent the interaction between foundation mat and soil. While the analysis using the Winkler foundation model results in more accurate prediction, it requires a complex procedure and longer computation time. In this study, an equivalent two-spring model(S model) is proposed. The S model can represent the Winkler foundation model more accurately and the analysis using the S model is simpler and more effective. The S model is derived by simplifying the nonlinear moment-rotation relationship of foundation mat. The dynamic responses predicted by the S model gave a good agreement to those of the Winkler foundation model.

  • In this paper, the Variable Structure System(VSS) theory with new continuous switching dynamic equation is used to design an automatic controller for the active nutation damping in momentum bias stabilized spacecraft. In the application of VSS theory to a linearized multivariable system with the nutation damping systems, there exist some disadvantages such as how to determine the switching gains and how to reduce the chattering phenomina and reaching phase in input and state trajectories. To solve these drawbacks, this paper presents the continuous switching dynamic equation instead of the discontinuous switching logics to obtain the sliding mode. The new design approach is much simpler than the VSS theory. And there do not exist chattering phenomina in this method because the obtained control inputs are continuous. Simultaneously the reaching phase is reduced by a suitable choice of design factor.

  • A method for analysis of trace uranium in urine sample was studied using a time-resolved $N_2$-laser-induced fluorimetry. The Fluran solution was found to be efficient to mask the chloride ions which are known to quench uranium fluorescence in the fluorimetric assay of uranium in urine. This improved method made the sample preparation much simpler than other conventional ones. The fluorescence intensities at 1% urine mixture with 10% Fluran aqueous solution showed good linearities in the concentration range of 10-500 ppb(before dilution).

  • A new method for deep trench isolation using selective growth of polycrystalline silicon is proposed. In this method, trench filling is performed by forming polysilicon-inner sidewalls within the trench, and then selectively growing them by reduced chemical vapor deposition using $SiH_2C1_2$gas at $1100^{\circ}C$. The surface profiles of filled trenches are determined mainly by the initial depth of inner sidewalls and the total thickness of selective growth. No chemical mechanical polishing(CMP) process is needed in this new method, which makes the process flow simpler and more reliable in comparison with the conventional method using CMP process.

  • Parameter design is an approach to reducing performance variation of quality characteristic value in products and processes. Taguchi has used the signal-to-noise ratio to achieve the appropriate set of operating conditions where variability around target is low in the Taguchi parameter design. However, there are difficulties in practical application, such as complexity and nonlinear relationships among quality characteristics and control factors (design factors), and interactions occurred among control factors. Neural networks have a learning capability and model free characteristics. There characteristics support neural networks as a competitive tool in processing multivariable input-output implementation. In this paper we propose a substantially simpler optimization procedure for parameter design using neural network. An example is illustrated to compare the difference between the Taguchi method and neural network method.

  • The multipath multistage interconnection network is proposed which has the capability of dynamic rerouting. Construction of the network gets simpler, and the number of stages is reduced to $LOG_{2}$(N), so hardware complexity is reduced. This proposed algorithm makes it possible that destination adresses are used as routing tags, and it is easy to set up the path. Because this proposed network has a dynamic rerouting, backtracking is not necessary to set up another path when conflicts of switch faults are occurred. To estimate a performance, analytic methods are used and it is proved that probability of acceptance is improved in this Multipath MIN.

  • In this paper, we propose that the polyphase scaler whose performance to that of the bicubic method, has less complexity in hardware structure. In order to get the new information, proposed system is based on the group delay which is one of the digital filter characteristics. The performance of this system is superior to that of bicubic algorithm which is well known. Because the hardware structure is simpler than other image scalers, we can adopt this system for mobile devices easily. The previous polyphase filters make blurring noise which is generated by up-scaling. We replace polyphase filters by boost-up filter to get vivid image. The proposed scaler is verified by Xilinx Virtex2 FPGA and is used as digital Boom in mobile camera phone.

  • Fick's diffusion equation was transformed into algebraic subsidiary equation with its initial and boundary conditions through Laplace transformation, and the subsidiary equation was transformed back on the basis of Burington's table of inverse transformations so that it became the solution of Fick's equation. The initial and boundary condition was for upward diffusion of salts into flooding water of constant depth from uniform polder soil of infinite depth containing constant concentration of salt. The derived solution was tested through comparison for its conformability with other solutions of simpler initial and boundary conditions. The importance of shallow transplanting of rice seedlings and salt removing by growing rice was mentioned on the basis of very slow desalting rate by diffusion calculated from the derived solutions.

  • It is an important issue to detect automatically whether a mask is worn or not for corona prevention. It is known that mask wearing detection can be solved by learning the face data set. However, the search for whether a person is wearing a mask can be detected in a simpler way using OpenCV. In this paper, we describe that it is possible to easily detect whether a single person is wearing a mask or not with a general PC camera using OpenCV learning data results and simple OpenCV functions. Through experiments, the proposed method was shown to be effective.
