  • Recently, the optimisation of end-of-life (EOL) product remanufacturing processes has been highlighted. In particular, computer remanufacturing becomes important as the amount of disposed of computers is rapidly increasing. At the computer remanufacturing, depending on the selections of used computer parts, the value of remanufactured computers will be different. Hence, it is important to select appropriate computer parts at the reassembly. To this end, this study deals with a decision making problem to select the best combination of computer parts for minimising the total remanufacturing computer cost. This problem is formulated with an integer nonlinear programming model and heuristic search algorithms are proposed to resolve it.

  • Password authentication is the representative user authentication method and particularly text-based passwords are most widely used. Unfortunately, most users select weak passwords and so many web sites provide a password meter that measures password strength to derive the users to select strong passwords. However, some metering results are not consistent and incorrect strength feedbacks are made. In this paper, we tackle these problems regarding password meters and present an improvement direction.

  • In this study we examined the method to select the size of the conductor rail for light rail system. Study results shows that using the conductor rail with lower resistivity requires fewer power substation, which results in lower construction cost. It also produces less copper loss. Therefore first choose the conductor rail with lowest resistivity and select the substation location, Next conduct computer simulation study to confirm it meets voltage requirement. if the minimum voltage is well above the required minimum voltage, substation number can probably be further reduced.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop the evaluation model of BPMS(business process management systems) based on AHP(analytical hierarchy process). In this study, we draw some criteria to select BPMS solution from a experts panel. And, we develop an evaluation model based on AHP method. As a result, each organization can select the effective BPMS solution from the proposed evaluation model.

  • The efficiency of an adder which plays an important role in micro-process and DSP greatly depends on the kinds of carry generation method. So in this paper. I used both CLA excellent in the speed and CSA best in the chip-size. The 64bit adder is designed with high speed which is two optimum combination. Therefore this paper suggested the way of CLSA improving both speed and chip-size. and proved the excellence of the designed circuit.

  • This paper proposes a redesign procedure for assemblability and automatic assembly of an automobile heater blower motor. According to the procedure, redesign alternatives are generated, then the alternatives are evaluated by a weighted objectives method to select one optimal redesign alternative. First, the redesign objectives are identified and the assemblability of the current motor is evaluated to decide redesign rules. Finally, the redesign variants and alternatives are generated using the redesign criteria. This information is then evaluated to select an optimal alternative, determined by weighted evaluation criteria which is established in advance.

  • The cam is used to a main component in a variety of automatic machines and instruments. To meet the demand of a complicated operation and of reducing weight for automatic machine, Curve Blending Technology, in which each of the basic curves suitable for individual interval is connected, is used for the cam design. In the curve blending, it is necessary to select appropriate elementary curve for each interval and to confirm the dynamic continuity at connecting points between adjoining elementary curves. This paper represented the elementary curve selection method to select an appropriate curve for each interval, and executed computation for the follower displacement and angular displacement of each interval. The paper made an analysis and examine closely for elementary curves to synthesizing curve blending, and it performed dynamic conditions clearly at every points on the cam motions. Therefore the curve blending technology presented by the paper turned into easier work.

  • The mesh selectivity of a drum shaped pot for finely-striate buccinum (Buccinum striatissimum) was conducted a total of eight times with four different mesh sizes (22, 35, 50 and 60 mm) from May to September, 2019 in the eastern coastal waters of Korea. The size selectivity analysis was estimated by the SELECT method to express logistic selectivity curves. In the results, the catch of finely-striate buccinum was occupied about 90% in the total catch weight. The equation of the master curve of selectivity was estimated to s(R) = exp(-7.778R+9.983)/[1+exp(-7.778R+9.983)]. The relative shell height of 50% selection was 1.284 and the selection range (SR) was 0.282. The optimal mesh size for 50% selection on the minimum maturation size (75 mm, Shell height) was estimated more than 60 mm by the master selectivity curve.

  • Software metrics as a way to evaluate software play a significant role in reducing software development costs and improving quality. However, the emergence of various software metrics creates the problem that the user must select the correct metric. Various strategies have been studied to solve this problem. However, existing studies still have difficulties in selecting metrics by requiring high user interventions. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a method that helps to select the right metric and the metric tools by using their various characteristics as selection criteria, instead of using weighted expressions to minimize user intervention.

  • Motor imagery classification in electroencephalography (EEG)-based brain-computer interface (BCI) systems is an important research area. To simplify the complexity of the classification, selected power bands and electrode channels have been widely used to extract and select features from raw EEG signals, but there is still a loss in classification accuracy in the state-of- the-art approaches. To solve this problem, we propose a discriminative feature extraction algorithm based on power bands with principle component analysis (PCA). First, the raw EEG signals from the motor cortex area were filtered using a bandpass filter with ${\mu}$ and ${\beta}$ bands. This research considered the power bands within a 0.4 second epoch to select the optimal feature space region. Next, the total feature dimensions were reduced by PCA and transformed into a final feature vector set. The selected features were classified by applying a support vector machine (SVM). The proposed method was compared with a state-of-art power band feature and shown to improve classification accuracy.
